We were on our way back home to Switzerland (coming from the UK). Checked online if there's a good place to get some lunch on our way and found this restaurant.
It was a sunday and I decided to make a reservation two days before for a table in the courtyard. Turned out to be a good idea, because the restaurant was pretty much booked that lunch! Our Bulldog was very welcome here as well.
It's a restaurant right by the D1044. Behind the restaurant are some parking spaces. And lots in front the place and on the other side of the road. We were the first ones to arrive. But an hour later the place was full!
The courtyard is very nice on a sunny day like it was. Very cosy, very homely. Staff/owner were really friendly and helpful. Took care of us very well and made us feel welcome. It seems like a lot of guests were regulars, a good sign.
Ordered the Tarte d'Andouillette and the Terrine maison for starters. The Terrine was excellent - lots of good flavours. And a real nice surprise was the Tarte. There are several kinds of quality of Andouillette - and this one was of great quality! If you've never tried Andouillette you definitely should when in France.
For the mains we've had the fish of the day (Poisson du marché) and the Steak Tartare.
The fish was nice and fresh. Nicely cooked, perfect cooking point. The Tartare was made of Charolais beef. An excellent kind of beef for Tartare (we had some Charolai before - but at another place). So I was very excited and happy to see Charolai Tartare on the menu. And it was fantastic. Very nice fries as well.
Since we had a long drive ahead we just had some sparkling water with the meal.
All came together at just a bit over 50 Euros! What a price for this kind of meal and quality. If I'd live in the area, I would surely be a regular here. Highly recommended! read more
