From the moment you get into the change rooms, you feel like you're in a nice, relaxing place. The showers were like the ones you'd find in a boutique hotel. There large outdoor hot pools area overlooks the St. Laurence river, which is stunning. They've set up a fire with blankets as well. Several "quiet area" signs abound, but they're written in French. Some of the guests are a bit chatty, including my friends and me. While I recognize that it may be off-putting to people who want some kind of serene bathing experience, well, it's a social outing. Nobody was completely "wild". The two indoor areas contain a eucalyptus steam room or a dry sauna. Both of the areas have a "quiet room" on top, and one of the quiet rooms has tea. I did find the furniture to be quite noisy and creaky, which made for a bit of a comedy show whenever anyone would move about. Also, I'm not sure I'd want to lay down on any of the "couples beds". Bring your towel with you. The spa is great after a hard day of skiing or riding. I had such a good, relaxing time there that I made my friends go again the next time I was in Beaupre! This is sure to become a staple of my trips to mont-sainte-Anne.

Over the last 3 months I have tried 7 different nail salons in Quebec with no luck of finding one that matches the talent I have become accustomed to. This nail salon was recommended to my by quite a few ladies, so I decided to try it. I have been here twice and this is how I rate their service. - Gel nails (including shaping): BAD. I like pointy nails and unfortunately these girls can't perfect the shape of the nail. As I'm writing this two of my nails are pointing westward (not funny!). They can do short, square and round fairly well but not pointy. - Spray designs: NOT BAD. They have a big variety of nail polishes (including a lot of gel). - Customer Service: HORRIBLE! So much attitude. - Creativity & Talent: ... sorry not in this salon. By getting your nails done here you will only end up with "knock-off" looking nails. Sorry ladies... we all deserve much than this!

On n'a discuté, elle a sue me rendre à l'aise. J'ai vraiment aimé discuter avec Abbie. Abbie est une professionnelle! Le massage étais super, 10/10! Mais ce que j'ai vraiment aimé, c'est la personne. Je ne parle pas du physique. On ne note pas un physique, on ne décris pas une personne que ce soit homme ou femme. Abbie est quelqu'un de vraiment intéressant! Elle a sue me mettre à l'aise. Les sujet de discussion étais intéressant! On n'a parler de client difficile, d'anecdotes sur le salon de massage qui a brûler à giffard, on n'a parler de ma personne ainsi que de elle. Abbie, si tu vois ce commentaire, ne change pas tu est une personne extraordinaire et tu aime beaucoup ce que tu fait, sa se vois! J'aurais sincèrement aimer discuter davantage avec toi. Je ne fait pas attention au physique des gens. Je me fiche de ce que les gens ressemblent, c'est la personne derrière ce corp et cette tête qui m'intéresse et vraiment, tu est une personne extraordinaire! Continue ton beau travaille! We'd been walking all day, soaking up the incredible sights of Quebec City on foot and I was a little harried and exhausted when we arrived, but felt like completely different woman when I left. I can't say enough good things about my massage therapist David. He was extremely conscientious in asking about my needs and any health issues, and the massage itself (I had the deep tissue) was extraordinary. He worked out all of my tensions, every knot, yet was gentle as well as intense and effective. I am definitely coming back to QC and when I do, I'll be making an appointment with David!

My visit was during the renovation so my treatment was in one of the hotel rooms the spa occupied…read morein the Fairmont hotel. This wasn't a problem for me as they seemed to try to make the room as comfortable and as much like a spa treatment room as possible. I had the 80 minute Signature Payot massage with Francine (I believe that was her name - I hope I got it right) and she was truly wonderful. First we sat down and she explained the products she was going to use on me. They all smelled wonderful and felt luxurious. She had me pick out the aromatherapy oils I wanted and explained what the treatment would entail. After she made sure I was comfortable, she got to work. I generally don't like when I am massaged with forearms but Francine's pressure was perfect and she managed to address the tight areas. The technique she used was very French - think Venus Beauty Institute with Natalie Baye. The effleurage was executed by assured, experienced hands of someone who really knows what she's doing. Then came the face massage. I didn't realize this was part of the treatment until Francine explained it to me at the beginning. At first I hesitated because I don't like unfamiliar products applied to my face and I generally stay clear of facials. But Francine had a very calming demeanor and she seemed to know the products very well so I decided to go with the flow. I'm glad I did because at one point I fell asleep! The products felt so good, I left even the hair elixir in for the rest of the day, making me look like I hadn't washed my hair in a week, but the smell was so good and it made my hair very soft! Note to Payot: please package your products in smaller sizes so travelers like me can buy your wonderful stuff and still fly home with them in our carry on.
