And it was a perfect place for this event : on Saturday 6PM or Sunday 10PM, l'Embarcadère was not empty but not too crowed, a perfect fit. If you are looking for an event, you will be anyway satisfied with the location, along the beautiful Saône, near Perrache, so in center town. You just have now to wait the event that will fit your tastes, everything can happen at l'Embarcadère, from creators' exhibitions to gastronomic events through business meetings and of course special lyonstuffing for "la fête des lumières". The place allow few to 500 people inside depending on the setting of the place (rooms, exposition stands, conference, big hall...), so it fits for many different events. If you plan to go there, I would recommand to go by metro/tramway (tram station: Suchet), because of the traffic in center town and the difficulty to park the car.

We asked why they wouldn't let us in, we were old enough, we all had ID's, we wore decent clothes and were barely tipsy, yet they denied us access. They had no real answer to our question, all they did was ask us to wait outside the line and after a good 10 minutes they admitted that we wouldn't get in, no matter how long we waited. We asked why, over and over again, yet the guards just shrugged their shoulders in a degrading manner and told us to go. We weren't the only ones who experienced this at all, several people were standing like question marks after having been told to wait outside the line for no proper reason. We asked around a little bit and some people said the guards were very selective, and that we should stand in the (very) long line AGAIN to try and get in. We didn't have the energy nor the mood to try again, which is why we headed the long way home, without getting even a single reason for being denied access to the club we were all so excited to go to.
