Upon arrival, we were told to park quite a ways from the apartment. The correct address was not listed on booking.com and I had to call the number that was above the door. It was the wrong number, and the gentleman on the other end told me to walk down a few doors and call the number that was listed above that door. A woman answered and handed the phone over to another woman who told me that check in normally is before 8:30pm but she would come and let us in within 5-10 minutes. She was very very nice, and I asked about wifi and she told me it was 2 euros. (The website had mentioned free wifi) I looked in my wallet and didn't have any coins, and she said that I was fine and handed me the wifi password. We followed her down the mountain in our car, and she pointed to the area where there was paid parking,15 euros/day. There was another lot which was even further, with free parking. I really need to learn how to read the fine print on these booking websites. HUGE issue that also wasn't listed on the website was the HORRENDOUS stench that we discovered was coming from the bathroom. it smelled like something had died in there. All in all, not worth the 68 euros i had forked over.

She loaned me a needle and thread to fix my torn skirt, asked me what time I wanted breakfast, which was a delicious spread of cheeses, charcuterie, home made jam, fruit, breads, juice, cappuccino... then offered to make me bacon and eggs( I declined)...! She told me she loves meeting people from all over, and it shows! My room and bathroom were both huge and lovely! It was a short, pleasant stroll to the town.

They felt like family and I loved the cats! We did several day trips each day so it's centrally located. They arrange a driver to take us to the train station one day in Florence because parking in Florence is a problem, we took a day trip to Venice. We drove to Cinque Terre another day (and got a parking ticket) but it is so close to so much we were able to do so much each day. If your thinking of taking a trip go to San Gimignano stay here you will be so glad you did.
