They have a nice restaurant and beer garden. The food is underrated. I had the boulet and they were ridiculous. The sauce that came on them were ridiculous. The fries were crunchy with a soft interior. Belgians just know how to do fries the right way. Everything is made fresh here and you can taste it. The bread was even some of the best I have had! The curtius beer was my favorite. It is light and goes down easy. You can also buy some to-go from the shop and I highly suggest you do that! So good! The service was great and the place was clean and fun. Apparently they have different parties and beer tastings when the weather is nice. Come check it out you won't regret it.

We walked past it last year and didn't have time to stay, so a year later we made it a special point to pop in here after our climb up and down the Montagne de Bueren. Their beer, Curtius, has taken over the town, and for good reason - it's a great, dry Blonde, at 7%, with a little cloudiness that's likely the result of some wheat in the mash. It's like a Duvel but drier and not quite as strong. They have a bar menu but were out of most things when we were there. So we got hapjes (chicken wings) and the cheese plate, which had 3 outstanding cheeses, including a really nice local chevre.

This is an old place and it looks like it. A lot of pekets have been taken down here over the years I am sure. It is not really hard alcohol but not light either. I don't know how to explain it but it comes in all different flavors and you can even light it on fire. Sort of like a liqueur. It is a fun and different drink. The atmosphere gets lively too as people begin to get wasted on peket. The best thing to do is to check out the place. Fun experience.

The actual building is breathtaking, in its appearance it feels Medieval with exposed stone walls, iron gates and other rustic features. As a drinking establishment it is pretty eclectic and quirky, but the reason for visiting is to experience drinking Peket, the local liquor of the region. Maison du Peket has a large selection of flavours - fruit, chocolate etc - and there are also 'flambees' choices for a more full-on experience. I am instantly addicted to the chocolate peket flavour, which is worrying drinkable, considering the high alcohol content! The later in the evening the more packed it gets - during term-time extremely so! - so go in the early evening for a more relaxed feel.
