The hotel? A little quirky. Cozy, comfortable, and quaint, but of its own vibe. The food? Wonderful! Breakfast was more than enough food. My evening meal was divine. The wines were wonderful. The owner? So incredibly nice, so outgoing. Despite the language barrier - I speak no French, he very little English, we were able to connect. Oh my! This is just a wonderful place. The owner an absolute charmer who speaks just enough English (no one else spoke more than a word or two of it) to make being here wonderful. Trying to ask questions about the wine list from our waiter at dinner was, uh, almost impossible. Happily Bordeaux is spelled Bordeaux in French too! Who'da thunk it?!?! There is literally no where else to eat in Marre. 328 people is like that I suppose. No grocery stores either, but the good news is the restaurant at Gaulois serves an excellent supper.
