Job partially complete on first trip, crew returned a few weeks after to correct missing portions not completed. At that time I was informed about the 26 ft that should not have been quoted. Work crew was professional and did good clean work, both times. Sales Rep, I believe, is only out to pad his pocket. Got the run around a couple of times with support, till a resolution was obtained. I cant speak to the effectiveness of the product as i never got past the initial call. I had jumped on Angie's List to find some estimates for gutter cleaning and within a day these guys started calling. When I finally answered one of their calls (I work from home so I don't usually take unknown calls during the day) I was bombarded by a high-pressure sales lady obviously reading off of a script. I tried to politely end the call but she had endless ruses to try and get something scheduled. Seriously, it was getting painful. After 5 or 10 minutes of this back-and-forth we were mercifully cut off (no, I didn't hang up - as much as I wanted to) and I was in the process of entering them in my Spam entry on my phone when they called back and left a voicemail about how we were cut off and "we need to get that appointment scheduled!" I'm sorry, but the days of high-pressure cold sales are (or should be) over. There are too many options out there to be pushed into a bad decision by a seemingly unscrupulous company. I know the challenges - I've done sales before and I know how difficult it is. I don't blame the phone rep, though - I blame the shady management that forces their sales team to use these types of tactics. With the wealth of information we have at our fingertips today, there's NO reason to ever patronize a company that has to resort to this kind of pressure. If I get this much push on an initial call, there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY I'll ever let one of their people in or near my house. I'd recommend avoiding these guys at all costs. read more

Eeks! I should have read the reviews first! I also saw on indeed.com they received very poor reviews as an employer. I am highly disappointed in the professionalism and customer service they displayed, both from Bill Russell, COMMERICAL ACCOUNTS MANAGER and Shane, who was the manager when I called in. I had to move my appointment the day before and they showed up anyway after I had already moved it. I took the day off and scheduled several appointments which were very close together. Needed things to be on time. So Bill, the ACCOUNTS MANAGER, shows up 20 minutes late. No phone call alerting me he was late. Then he lied to his manager and said he called me. Bill copped an attitude the second he walked up to my front door. Saying he got lost in downtown. Seriously? Like you can't follow a GPS map and be on time? Then very curtly he says to me, "What can I do for you?" Again, what are you here for???? So I said, "You are here for the leaf guard. Go ahead and measure." He then stomped off with more attitude. I called for the manager and got Shane, who also had attitude when I called. Not sure why they were so aggressive with me and ultimately highly insulting. After listening to Shane be just as rude as Bill was I said, "Just cancel the appointment and get off my property." I could hear Bill through the window disparaging me and calling me all kinds of names. I went downstairs and told him to cancel the appointment and get off my property. He refused. He stood there (all 350#s) and taunted me. He said, "What if I refuse? What are you going to do about it?" He clearly dwarfed me and made moves towards me to intimidate me. I said, "GET OFF MY PROPERTY!!!!" He was horrible. Continued to call me names, taunt me, say he wasn't leaving, that I could call 911. He would leave when he was ready. Then he continued to insult my new home, ridiculing my gutters, which I had no control over from the previous owner. He was a complete JERK. Shane was a complete JERK. I had a Leaf Filter Salesman come recently. The 1.5 hours was a total waste of time, but I suppose it was entertainment and I even told the salesman that. He seemed a bit offended by that...LOL. I didn't budge nor was my wife there. He dropped the price 3 times ($3200, then $3000; $2400; then $1600); called his boss; oh he has a commercial job coming and we can fit in your job in with those commercial jobs to save you even more money; when you get your roof done, you'll have to get new gutters...but not with our system! Do yourself a favor and search Leaf Filter scams or pull up review videos on YouTube about how ineffective this gutter system is. The customer support is a series of broken promises to wear you down and frustrate you AFTER you've paid them. What a total waste of money. After our major freeze on the Texas Gulf Coast, the trees around my house dropped the rest of their leaves. I had Leaf Filter installed just in time. I called LeafFilter for an estimate on gutter guards for my house after getting tired of cleaning leaves out every Fall. I saw their coupon in the Valpak mailing, so I decided to check them out. I made an appointment with a salesman to come to my house to do a demo and spiel and I must say, he did a great job of convincing me of their product. The way they do it, is they try to get you to buy on the spot. After his initial quote was too high in my opinion, I declined and then he came back with another offer and I asked if he could reduce it some more and he did..reluctantly. I was ok with the 3rd quote and signed the papers. He clearly wasn't happy and didn't say much when leaving. LOL I guess that cut into his commission? Oh well, I got a good price! Keep this in mind if you get a quote from them or any other company for that matter! Well, their product is fantastic! It consists of an extruded plastic piece and a fine stainless steel mesh that is attached on top of the extrusion. This assembly gets installed on top of your existing gutters with a bracket and some screws. It's a very clean cut design and you can't even notice it from the ground really. It's been 7 years and zero clogged gutters! They have a lifetime transferable warranty against clogged gutters, but I was getting a new roof put on my house, so I needed to have Leaf Filter come out to remove the gutter guards and then reinstall them after the roofing job in order to maintain that warranty. Now getting them to actually come out to remove the Leaf Filters...that was awful. Their service department leaves a lot to be desired. After a number of calls weren't returned, I ended up DMing them on Instagram of all places and they got someone to call me back in an hour or so! He left a message and a cell phone number for me to reach him. Wow... Getting a hold of someone to schedule the reinstall was another hassle! I called their service line daily for 4 days and they claimed that I would get a call back to have it scheduled. Noone called me. I got tired of BS because I wanted the gutter guards reinstalled ASAP before the leaves started coming down. I contacted them on IG again and that didn't seem to help. I called the guy's cell and he didn't answer and didn't return my call. I tried again the following day and he answered to finally schedule it. They gave me a 9am-11am window of when they would arrive and I had my dad stay at my house to wait for them while I was at work. Hours and hours passed and they didn't show up. I called the guy and he said they would be there soon and apologized. The person didn't arrive until almost 4pm! Arrrgh! What a mess. At least it's done with. read more

Had a vendor come out to demonstrate the product and measure the roof for a cost estimate. He seemed like a knowledgeable guy and It all looked reasonable. After some negotiation, I went ahead to schedule the install. The contract gives you three days to cancel in case you have second thoughts. While I did not have second thoughts I did call to change the order. The operator took my number and said the supervisor would have to call back. Likely later that day. I did not get a return call so I called again the second day to make sure they can accommodate the change. It was pretty minor after all. Still no response so I called on the third day but this time it was to cancel. And guess what, within 30 minutes the supervisor returned my call. So far I am unsatisfied. The sales person who came here made the product and installation seem high quality and professional. Yesterday we had an appointment for the gutters to be replaced for the whole house, but they showed up late and didn't start working until 2pm. I was working inside and didn't notice that they left. When my husband called them they said that they ran into a problem and their manager would be calling. They replaced one gutter in the front of the house but said it wasn't connected properly and left the old downspouts. Now their manager said he would be over "towards the end of the week" to see what can be done. The sales person took photos of all the gutters. If there was going to be a problem with installation they should have not taken the job or contacted us previously. Anxious about moving forward with this installation and starting to feel like it's a complete waste of money. ---------update---- They said they would contact us by the end of the weekend and send a manager over. Nothing has happened. No show, no phone call, no explanation. ------update----- The manager came on a Saturday while we were away without setting an appointment. They said they can't install our gutters because it's impossible to do so correctly but they already did one gutter in the front of the house. The pitch is wrong and there are sharp edges everywhere. They want to charge us for this. They said they will come out one last time to 'check' to see what can be done. They said they would add the filter, but the gutters can't be replaced. HOWEVER the first time they said our gutters were pitched incorrectly and causing issues. They need to be replaced because more spouts must be added and they are leaking in some spots. If nothing can be done we are going to search for legal council. Avoid this company like the plague. read more

Minutes before installing I thought it was odd the worker said he was just putting up gutters and later someone will come install the leaf filters. I asked him to first confirm the leaf filter installation before he start installing the gutters. He ended up leaving 10 minutes later while I waited inside to hear a response from head office. It's a SCAM. They tell you they will install the whole package, but only install the gutters, then later extort thousands of dollars from you to put the filters in that match their gutters. Terrible. The product might be great, I don't know, I wasn't able to get it installed. I had the sales person come out for the estimate (I was told it would be about 45 minutes, but took closer to 2 hrs, and I had to leave for another appointment). He also spent more time than needed talking about what a great company it was how they were listed on Angie's List, BBB and Consumer Report. He went over that quickly since I had to go, but I don't need the hard sell, just tell me about the product and price. After thinking it over, we decided to proceed as it sounded great, and set up in install date. I was told I only had to be present at the end, to take a look and sign off on things. Day of the install, I get a phone call at 9:30, from the installer telling me he's there and going to start. I say I'll try to be there by noon. I end up getting there at 12:30 and there's no one there. I call him and he tells me they couldn't install the product and that he called HQ and they were supposed to inform me. I track down the sales rep, and then eventually get a call back from Operations saying it wouldn't fit on my gutters for various reasons. Am I disappointed to not have the product? Sure. Am I annoyed that this should have been caught when the sales rep came and did the estimate? Sure. But what really upsets me is that from the initial call, to me arriving, I received no notification that they were proceeding with the project. Why no courtesy call? Because I'm not longer a customer, they don't care about service? I had an appointment in SF that morning I couldn't get out of and had to cut it short to be back to sign off on papers. Would've been nice if I had been informed at any point that they couldn't hold up their end of the contract. The operations manager told me he thought I was home and the installer had informed me. But he also came to the house to double check himself. He said he knocked and I wasn't home (maybe call and follow up as a courtesy and cover your bases?). My backyard was also left a mess with debris all over. He could have easily used the hose in the backyard to at least wash it down a little and clean up after himself. But I guess once you're no longer going to give them money they could care less about respecting your time or your home. read more

The first person that you have contact with from the company is your typical loser salesman who just loves to hear himself talk (Brian) and bragged about how they did a billion in sales last year. I was promised certain features and performance that wasn't the end result. They also tried to go back on what we agreed upon with our original deal when the installer showed up. Once the loser left my house I could not get in contact with him to try to sort things out. Overall, would not recommend at all. Total waste of time and money. Unless you enjoy being swindled by someone like a used car salesman, in that case then go for it. I thought it would take longer to install but once you work out the numbers it came out to $500-$600 / hour....I promise you they are not worth that money. That's top of the line lawyer money. In a word..."TERRIBLE". The LeafFilter system has created more problems than it's solved. It does not "allow as much water as open gutters" as stated on the webpage. This is false advertising. When problems were reported, little to no service is provided. Multiple conversions with "customer service" has resulted in little more than lip-service. A "repair" was attempted to address water flowing over the gutters, but it's hideous and unacceptable...and would be unnecessary if the SYSTEM WORKED AS ADVERTISED. We do love our covers except if you want service because your new covers have some sand and gravel that washed off from the first rain storm and you don't want to get up on the ladder yourself (that was why we put these things on) then forget it.... They offered me service 6 weeks from today. That is ridiculous so I guess I would say, do not count on them for service. We will have to get up and do it ourselves. After an improper installation admitted to by their managers and and agreement to repair two years ago, I'm still waiting. There are ice patches outside every door of my home causing slip and fall hazards everywhere. I get a new ticket opened and about a week later a new manager calls to tell me they're busy but let they'll get me on the schedule. Then, nothing. This place makes the DMV and Comcast look like a world class customer service providers. Needed gutter cleaning/repair and the salesman gave a convincing pitch and the price didn't seem too high given the "warranty" and "guarantee" that came with this. However everything that happened after the sale was a complete train wreck. Highlights include: 1. Terrible Service Experience: hiring a national company I expected professional field workers. Instead I received two guys who you could have found on craigslist, that did not in any way look professional, and who spoke almost no English. Strike one. 2. Terrible Job Quality: the gutter repair they did made my gutter system look WORSE than it did before the work itself. They tried to get me to sign for the job before giving me the opportunity to even inspect there work, to which I said no let me see the job. I saw their work, found issues, and asked them to correct. Even after they left, the next time it rained the gutters leaked all down the side of my house. Strike two. 3. Terrible Customer Service (Part 1): the credit card which I had given the salesman did not work, and the day after the job was done the LeafFilter finance department calls me not once... not twice.. but SIX TIMES. They left two messages. All because they wanted my credit card, which come to find out they ENTERED IN INCORRECTLY to begin with. Seriously people. Call once, leave one voicemail, and wait for a response like any normal company would do. Don't call 6 calls in a day like some Chinese robo-caller - that is literally harassment. Strike three. 4. Terrible Customer Service (Part 2): given my gutters were not working properly after LeafFilter's first visit, I called them back and asked they fix it. I was told someone would come out ten days later - a guy with much more experience and more professional. So far, so good. They told me they'd also do a few extra fixes for free as an apology for the bad service. Awesome, I'll take it. The very next day I'm on a work call and the SAME GUYS who screwed up the job the day before are at my door again wanting to fix it. They fixed what was broken and nothing more... basically lied about what they'd do to make up for the headache. Well worse, I was given ZERO heads up of this. So let me get this straight, you call me 6 times in a single day asking for my credit card info again, but can't call once to say "hey I know you weren't expecting this but someone will be coming to your house later today, not next week". Super awkward sending out the same team again... it's like LeafFilter has no professional etiquette or common sense. Strike (... are we even still keeping track?) 5. Terrible Customer Service (Part 3): after this debacle I call into customer service asking to speak with a manager. They told me no one is here now but they'd call me back in next 2 days. I am greatly disappointed by the product and the company's service. LeafFilter North has not completed what was promised in their contract. 1. Downspouts not cleaned and realigned. The contract specified they would clean and realign all downspouts. They attempted only one (1) of sixteen (16). Their website (http://www.leaffilter.com/about/leaffilter-installation/) specifies that installation will include "Step 2: Clean and Realign Downspout." After partially attempting to clean one downspout, they advised that the bottom was blocked and they simply didn't continue. Their promise was not completed. 2. Homeowner Inspection Certificate not received. Their website specifies their final step is "We will walk the perimeter of your property along with you to inspect the completed work and to answer any question or concerns you may have. You will then receive our Homeowner Inspection Certificate that guarantees a satisfactory installation." They did not complete this inspection with me so I did not get to approve the installation. I would not have approved if I had been given the chance. I have never received a Lifetime Transeferrabe Warranty 3. Subcontracted Company and no response to complaints. LeafFilter was not the company that came to install the product. I was never told that they would use another company to do the job. If I knew I would not hire them. I called the day of the installation to complain that the job had not been completed properly. My first call reached a LeafFilter salesman JB, but he hung up on me. My second call reached a regional manager. He promised that he would personally come to check the work. He did not show up at the scheduled appointment time. He called after the appointment time had passed to reschedule. He did not show up for that appointment either. There was no call, no explanation after that. LeafFilter North has not followed through on their promises. 4. Improper installation. The product was installed poorly in comparison to the workmanship promised on their website and promised by the salesman. There are gaps between the guard system and the roof. There is damage to the roof in several places. They made poorly measured cuts to the fascia board exposing the wood to the elements which will cause rot. Please see the attached are photos of the poor product installation on my property. 5. Product failure. The system has not worked. I've since found another customer complaint that echoes my experience: "I know the guarantee says "nothing but water" in the gutters, but it should say "Not even water" in the gutters." (http://www.yelp.com/biz/leaffilter-redmond) LeafFilter gives a "lifetime guarantee" but their installation was never completed properly so the system didn't work from day one! The promises and claims of this product and the LeafFilter company have fallen short. Attached are photos that show how the leaves sit on top of the gutters to block the water get into the gutters. I have come to the conclusion that I have spent $13,698 on a gutter system that was installed improperly by a company (through a subcontractor) that has not responded to my complaints. My mom had her gutters done by them & the technician left the gutters completely clogged when he did the installation. Her basement flooded as a result. We purchased this system about a year ago because my husband who used to clean our gutters had a stroke. We were attracted by the commercial ad that claims you never have to climb a ladder to clean your gutters again. Not true. We are extremely disappointed! We have had a total of 10 service calls this first year. After the 4th call, we asked for our money back. When they refused, we asked them to take their equipment off our roof because we did not have the problems we are having now before we purchased their system. Again, they refused. Each time the service rep comes out, he has to fix or change, or clean something. One rep told us that we are responsible for cleaning the screens ourselves. That did not set well with us. I would not recommend this product because what they won't tell you is the screens on the system keep getting clogged by tiny granules from the asphalt roof shingles. You would expect that since most roofs have asphalt shingles, as a company would have tested their system on these types of roofs. The asphalt shingles are the perfect size to clog up the screens. I have seen it up close and personally. So far, they have been coming out, and taking care of the problem but how long will that last? Our roof is only 2 years old, so age is not a factor, and we don't plan on replacing it with anything else, anytime soon. What about the lifetime guarantee? That's only as good as the company and we are not happy with them right now. So, if you have asphalt roof shingles; by the way, 70% of all homes built have them, don't buy this system. read more

Called LeafFilter to give me an estimate on cleaning my gutters. I had water pouring over the side of them. The salesman came out and gave me an estimate of $800 and some change, Said the gutters needed to be relined, cleaned and caulked (only put silicone in a corner of the gutters). Come to find out they couldn't be relined because the straps on the gutters go up under the roof. He refunded me $200 back. They're very quick to sell their product and take your money $4,500.00). Product is fine and works well BUT if you need service...you may as well call Ghostbusters because these fools won't help you. They'll schedule an appointment and never show up or call. When you finally call them...they'll schedule you another appointment and not show up. You'll play this game with them about 4-5 times until you get so pissed you lose your mind!! You'll speak to the HEAD person and you'll play the game all over again!!! I had a pretty negative experience with just getting a quote. The salesman came out to my house and became pushy and negative when I expressed that I wanted to think over his offer, which was quite expensive. The whole experience had a negative energy, like as if my house would make or break his company. He told me upfront that signing today would help his "quota". When I let him know on the phone that I was not going to be moving forward with his company, he gave me an attitude over text messaging saying that he was surprised I called, and that he doesn't get paid for quotes. I recommend finding a different company with a more abundant and respectful outlook towards the customer and the market. read more
