On January 18 I was involved in a car accident with a USAA member. USAA claimed responsibility for…read morethe accident and I was still instructed by them and State Farm, my (first party) car insurance company, to process the claim through SF. My 6 month old BMW M235i with under 5000mi sustained major damages, luckily neither I nor the other driver were injured. My car was taken to Braman BMW Collision Center as it was obviously still under manufacturer warranty. State Farm covered a portion of the damages, however, they continue to refuse to pay for an integral part, the steering rack, which according to BMW manufacturer SAFETY STANDARDS "mandates the replacement of the part when permanent deformation or fractures are sustained to front suspension components". Despite many requests from myself, my attorney and BMW Collision Center, State Farm, MY insurance company, who I've had for YEARS, been loyal to, and TRUSTED, is negotiating in BAD FAITH on behalf of THEIR OWN client. They are more concerned about saving money and in turn are jeopardizing my and others' safety. Apparently this has been a common issue with State Farm recently, so I urge anyone who has SF to relay the message to friends and family and look into another insurance company that has a good reputation and will protect them when they need it most.
