$24 for two small lukewarm burritos. One was supposed to be Chorizo, was just unflavored ground beef for some reason. Both had unmelted cold shredded cheese in it. They also weren't wrapped as more as they were just folded in half so everything was spilled out. And the salsa tastes like pizza sauce. read more

Saw the Yelp reviews and felt this establishment warranted a visit... ordered a sausage breakfast burrito with eggs, potatoes, and cheese.. What I got... some type of meat which I think was chili, three small pieces of potatoes and beans... No where near what I ordered... We visited Leal's for the first time today. We opted for the drive thru which we thought would go quickly, but was woefully slow although we weren't really in a rush so it was okay. We had a fairly complex order of different kinds of breakfast tacos and they got the order PERFECT which was honestly impressive. The tacos were on the smaller side - I easy ate 3 - but did have a descent amount of filling. I got potato, egg, and bean and felt like the fillings lacked some seasoning. However, both the salsa rojo and the salsa verde were WONDERFUL so with salsa on the tacos they were much improved in the flavor department. Overall, not mind-blowingly delicious, but solid breakfast tacos. read more

The food for a good while is not the same as it was when the owner was more visible there. The salsa is not the same as it was. The service is ok, but it use to be more friendly and more like it was family. Now it seems to be order your food, eat it, and then leave. I noticed also the parking lot was full most times but not now. I wish Mr Leal was present more and make his empire he built years ago the same greaness it use to be today. read more

Ahh Leal's! Had I reviewed you before spending the better part of the last 10 years in Austin you would have gotten 5 or 10 stars but I have one complaint and it knocks you down a peg. THE TORTILLAS!!! Come on! You guys have the best breakfast burritos and green salsa in all of Waco. Stop putting all of your deliciousness on store bought cold flour tortillas. If you put these on home made tortillas you would take these things to a whole nother level. This is still the best breakfast you can get in Waco so I don't want anyone to think that you shouldn't go here because you should. Ideven remember what year that was but it all started when me and some of my friends were dropped off here before school started (6th-8th grade) across the street...the owner Cesar Leal is one of the greatest guys there is. He's always genuinely happy to see you and welcoming! The breakfast burritos are crazy good and filling, for lunch you have to tackle the Chili topper! Love LOVE love Leal's Mexican Food! The chips are great with the special seasoning to sprinkle on top, and then with their delicious salsa....well they are absolutely addicting!! My favorite meal is the Leal's special. The food is always delicious, hot, and served with a special side of excellent service. Have been eating at Leal's for several decades and have never had a bad meal there. My best recommendation is to make sure you stop when passing through a city that has one of their family owned restaurants. I know you will be happy that you did. Family run, great place. Everything here is yummy. The first time I came here, my dad was in the hospital having an emergency triple bypass after a heart attack. I was looking for comfort food for my family. Cue breakfast tacos from this little place. We were consoled, downing these in the hospital waiting room with hours ahead and behind us of waiting... I've since been back for lunch tacos and then cheese enchiladas. All are good. Their green sauce is also really good.
