The RA was not helpful, it continued. Spoke with the head of the department and was treated like a complainer and not taken seriously. I personally had to go in person and speak with the roommate and was treated like the problem, when I had written proof of the bullying etc. It was my daughter's first college experience and I felt like the school failed. My daughter also is a minority student and I felt like it could have also been a reason for the lack of action and poor treatment. I eventually had to PAY for another room so she could be at peace. When she wasn't the problem! It is a beautiful campus but feels like it falls short of making minority students feel welcome. I witnessed students writing racial slurs on white boards on campus, " Jews can die", etc and profanity. Not a good look for a school to allow things like this to happen. Beware if you are a minority student, it doesn't treat you well.

The swim instuctors have taken the time to get to know my son. They know what motivates him. They have used their knowledge base and taught my son comfort in the water. My younger one started this one last summer when we knew it is a new instructor. Ms. Wei opens twice a week instead of once a week and she does some on-site tutoring if the kids need without extra charge. She also has a way to inspire the kids to do the work. My younger one improved a lot in math and readings and her grades at school from on the level become above the level. So we send the elder one to KUMON recently. We love it. Great job, Ms. Wei!
