Me and my girl!

Great beer! The venue was lovely. Situated on a corner from Main Street. Bear a lovely park and a great outside seating area. It was chilly but the sun was out, perfect beer day. I got the V IPA and it was really good. The staff were lively and gave great recommendations. The inside of the brewery was beautiful too. Open spaces with a TV and football on. Will be stopping here when I comeback to the neighborhood.

I like this brewery. Obviously it's dog and family friendly. We came on an evening that they had live music so that was a nice treat. Lots of cool beers to choose from. Service was good they let me try a sample before I ordered my beer of choice.

I have wanted to try this brewing for a long time but I have just now had a chance. Leashless Brewing serves Organic beers, that are rooted in Environmentally-conscious and sustainably-minded business practices. I could taste the difference between organic beers and regular beers. The ambiance has surfer vibes, a big screen to show surf videos, a surfboard, and a picture of Venture Pier on the wall. The business owner, John was nice. I tried a flight of 4 beers. I picked Sunrise, May Grey, V Town, and Mocktail. All beers were good but my favorite was Sunrise. It has nice fruity flavors and a taste of good hop. The music made me relaxed (they have Music on every Thursday and Sunday) Tuesday is Pint Night, $2 off all pints all day. Friday is Foamball Friday, $7 pints of Foamball all day. They have patio seating and are dog-friendly. There is a parking in front of the brewing but also you can park on the street.

One of the best in Ventura!!! I love that they are eco focused but it doesn't compromise flavor of beer. I tried the trifin, cest lavie, coconutz and brown beers. Loved them all! Coconutz is my favorite. It's very fruity but also your typical IPA (which I love). They have a wonderful outdoor/indoor space and their staff are so sweet. Pro tip: Thursdays they have live music! Already ready to come back.

Ambiance: Leashless exudes a cool surfer vibe. Surfing without a leash is great exercise. Come to Leashless for "Apres Surf". A big screen streams surf videos. The surfers are all wearing leashes. Haha. Photos on the wall depict real underwater scenes from the Channel Islands. Beer: The beer choices are plentiful. My favorites are IPAs. The Belgians actually were my favorites! Hazys, Double IPAs, and everything in between include award winners. Staff: John introduced his passion for organic sustainable everything. Leashless believes in saving the planet. John has surfed Ventura for 25 years. He loves Ventura and our beach environment. Service: The service included iles, patience, and efficiency. My server took as long as I needed to explain my flight choices. She actually stacked several flights simultaneously. There is no substitute for experience. Conclusion: I had a fun evening at Leashless Brewing.

Leashless Brewing in Downtown Ventura is definitely a nice spot to grab a cold one! I've been here twice in the 9+ years that I have been living in Ventura and I kind of feel sad about it, because their beer is great! Also I just discovered this past weekend that one of our neighbors actually works there. They have a very nice selection of beers and some ciders (some of which are gluten free). In addition to this, all their drinks are organic, so that makes it feel like they are better for you than others. I like to have their beer flights to try their rotating beers. This last time I had: Sunrise Blond, Tri-Fin Triple, Foamball Hazy, Coconutz Hazy, and Soul Slide Pale Ale. They were all good, but I had a pint of their Sunrise Blond, it was great. They also had a food truck outside with some righteous tacos!! The asada tacos are very tasty. Their servers are very friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. If you are in the area pay them a visit and enjoy the Leashless life!

Leashless Brewery! Always got the goods, music, vibe. The beer is wonderful and the service is great. Love Mosa and Tri-Fin. Always have a great time when we come to Ventura. We can't NOT stop and get fills. Always worth the drive.

Thirsty Thursday....

Do they serve wine and spirits as well?

No not really they serve an alcohol free ginger lemonade drink. But it's a brewery not a bar

Our friendly and welcoming waitress promptly brought over our menus, and before we knew it, our drinks and appetizers arrived at our table. For our appetizers, I wanted to try something different from our usual appetizers. We decided to order the Tipperary appetizer, which was a creamy deep-fried chip and a rich, flavorful sauce. As for our main courses, we indulged in a chicken pot pie and the Fisherman's plate. Each dish was delicious, but the chicken pot pie stole the show. The flaky pastry and perfectly seasoned chicken soup were simply irresistible. To complement our meal, I had a blueberry Lemon drop martini, which was perfectly made! I wish I would've come here sooner! But I will definitely be back.

The Good: * Beyond all the beers on tap, they also have a full bar. * Service was friendly and pretty good overall. * Secret menu for both food and drink. Shhhh...! * Their wings were fantastic! You've really gotta try the Strawbanero (Strawberry-Habanero) sauce, as it was a sweet and savory bite that had all three of us fighting over. * Buffalo Barrels (aka Tater Tots) were worth the $5 upgrade. But, I'm somewhat of a Tater Tot junkie, so take that advice for what it's worth. * Fries were fantastic, as well. * Short Rib Melt was delicious, but very, very rich. It could've used a little relief like some pickles either on it or on the side. The Meh: * They do have their own parking lot, but it is smallish and can fill up fast. There is some street parking available, as well. No matter which Topa you walk into, you see familiar faces. There is a real sense of family there, and I would hate to lose that. The Thompson location specifically feels like home. When I lost someone very near and dear to me, Topa became a place where I could breathe again. On the worst days, walking through those doors made things feel just a little lighter. Sometimes it felt like I was holding my breath all day until I got there. There is a steady comfort in that space. Mama mia, that kind of place is rare. I have definitely "invested" ;) my fair share into the pool table and the pinball machine. Trivia nights with the awesome host, the food pop ups, Nicks Smash Burgers and Ramos Tacos are the best. Being introduced to new bands and almost always leaving a live show with a vinyl or CD by the end of their set. It truly is a community. Supporting local artists and seeing the same people show up for each other over and over again is part of what makes it special. And the beer is unreal. I was never much of a beer person, but a few years ago they pulled me in with Moo Bae then the Althlone Ranger, and then the 4 and 20. My current favorite is The Tux. Every time I go in, that is what I get. I loved when they had more dark beers too. Topa Topa opened the door for me into the craft beer world without ever feeling intimidating. Once you find a place where you feel appreciated and respected, where you feel known, you do not want to lose that. A huge part of that for me is seeing my regular beer tenders, Mike, Lea, Marie, and Zion. They are part of what makes walking through those doors feel like coming home. The Thompson location is that kind of place. Really messed up what you did. EDIT- This is nothing against the newer employees of Topa, but has everything to do with corporate. What were you thinking getting rid of 15% of your staff? The people that have helped build the foundation of your brand. The people that build the individual personalities of each taproom. The people that we have gotten to know and they've gotten to know us. Like I said before Topa is a family. I get that the craft beer scene is getting smaller but getting rid of family is so dumb. Your regulars have developed a relationship with these people. It's so disheartening to go now. When we go we aren't greeted by these friendly faces that know us. You'd think you'd focus more on your regulars you know the people that actually spend money here rather than the "next generation". Like I said, this has nothing to do with the new workers. They're nice. But the people we've developed relationships could NEVER be replaced. The lovers of topa topa do not like this. And I've already seen on Reddit people are saying they aren't going back.

We came at the brunch hour so we ordered off their brunch menu. I got the Breakfast sandwich and my friend got a breakfast burger. We opted for just water today. My breakfast sandwich was as you imagined an egg sandwich to be. Cooked egg, 2 slices of bacon with aioli sauce on a toasted brioche bun. I got a side of hash-browns instead of fries. I would have preferred my hash browns to have a bit of a crisper crust but they were bad. My friend substituted sweet potato fries for the regular fries. The service was pretty good. Our waitress did check on us once our food arrived but didn't bother to refill our waters at all during our meal. I loved the low key vibe of the place. At least the patio seating. Just as we were about to leave there was a large party coming in which was a reserved table because we saw "reserved signs on it" and I heard the waitress asked how many dogs were there and the said 3. So I guess it's a pretty dog friendly patio which is a plus for dog owners.

The chips and salsa were served refrigerated with the salsa tasting more like unsalted tomato sauce than anything fresh. On the bright side, the pancakes were actually quite good, though the single strawberry and tiny portions of butter and syrup meant I had to keep flagging down service for more. The biggest letdown was the coffee--watery and lukewarm. Ugh Service was pleasant, but the kitchen needs to step up the quality control to match the atmosphere.
