Extremely cold minus degrees for days .my furnace went out, I Called cordray as I always do. It…read moreturned out to be a repeat issue that I was told was under a lifetime warranty, parts and labor. I was told eventually that only the part was under the warranty. I was told that they would install the part for $300. Labor. I was still confused as to why the change in the lifetime labor warranty was now 20 years. I was very polite in trying to understand , the lady on the phone said she would look into it further and call me back .She did call back saying she didn't investigate it and that Darren was no longer interested in doing the job. Just like that . No mind if my family was freezing ,just passed me off to someone else .she told me that they were going to wave the service call fee ..today I get a bill for $90.95 for service call. This was a business that I trusted, relied in and recommended to other people looking for this type of service ,I said they were honest ,trustworthy and kind. That is no longer my thoughts in this business. To tell someone in an emergency situation that they are going to do a job, give a price and then ( apparently because I asked to many questions to try and understand a warranty, that they told me was ," this " way and now it wasnt .) Called back and say he's no longer intersections un doing the job . For no reason at all ,other than the above ,gave no explanation at all. as I said I was polite the entire time ,only asking questions...apparently you can't ask questions at Cordray or you'll get the shaft .Not only did this happen ,this issue was recurrent and they never once bothered to explain WHY the issue kept happening and what could be done to prevent it .AND they out my family at risk by resetting the furnace to make it run for a couple of hours, only to shut off again.I called and asked if it was ok if I could reset it like they did .they said sure its ok ,and walked me through the process. Come to find out by doing this carbon monoxide was building up in the house . We could have died or gotten sick. I did call Milard co. Rob came out ,walked me through everyting, why this part was always going out ,he did things to check it ,showed me ,explained everything. I ended up having to get a new furnace ,which they got me financing for and out in the next day . Just the best guy ,the best installers, polite, friendly informative. And CONCERNED .he said he hated to leave me in the cold but he couldn't let the furnace continue to be reset because it would be a danger to us. He offered to bring us space heaters etc. DO BETTER CORDRAY ,THE WAY YOU HANDLED THIS EMERGENCY SITUATION WAS DISGUSTING. Never again would I try to use or recommendation this business.
