Big toe nails were cut way too deep on the sides. My big toes were sore for days. The only other thing that made me feel a bit awkward was walking in to get my nails done and there was complete silence. I looked around and found one lady working on nails. She looked at me and said nothing. I stood there for a while waiting for a hello and waited for someone else to come help me. The other customer that was getting her nails done told me this was her first time too and that the owner should be there any minute. So I waited in silence until the owner came (Tina).

I don't mind paying just would like businesses to be more transparent. Update: one of the managers reached out about my bleeding situation. He offered a redo. My nail tech has been out of town for a month and I cant wait that long for fills. I have ombre pink and white nails. A man took me to his desk and looked at my nails. I have a darker pink on my nails and it looks really pretty when done right. He did an OK job and tried to match the pink as best he could. I dont think he speaks any English at all. He did a nice job and they look pretty. However, when he was done I washed my hands and sat down expecting him to put on cuticle oil and massage lotion into my hands. He ushered me up front to pay instead. It was weird. They are buried under construction right now like all the businesses there so its not their fault the place looks closed. However, inside is a MESS, like someones junk garage. Its old and out dated and not welcoming at all. Stuff is EVERYWHERE!! I think they could have done a lot better. I got a long full set and a pedicure & my mom got a manicure and a pedicure. The people that work here are husband and wife and had an amazing story and work well together as a team. This was the worst nail salon I've ever been to in my life. I do not color my nails. I understand…read morethe people pay before they color because their hands are wet and it's easier. But even when I use color, I never pay until the nail is completely shaped and cleaned. This awful woman left my nails thick, dirty, and jagged. Then after I repeatedly explained that I did not want color or buffing, she demanded I pay. I tried to explain that she was not finished yet and asked for an emery board or file so I can show her what I wanted. There was only one other person, a man, working in the salon and he couldn't help translate for her either. I don't know if she genuinely did not understand my gestures or if she thought she could trick a blind woman into thinking she had done a good job. Does she not understand that I have a sense of touch? Does she not have a sense of touch? I have had some very highly trained professionals, women who didn't speak a word of English, who would be ashamed to let me walk out of the salon with nails looking like this. She is a bad example not only of nail salon technicians, but of the proud traditions of immigrants to this country. This woman was very rude and rough. She pulled and tugged at me as though I were not even a person. I would have much more respect for someone who spoke to me in a language I did not understand as long as they were addressing me. At least we would be equals then, neither understanding the other's language but doing commerce together as equals. This woman is slovenly and careless. She needs to be doing something outside of customer service. I know that my immigrant ancestors were ignorant and as rough as these nails. But I hope that they were never so callous, careless and sloppy as to just do whatever the heck they wanted and expect to be paid and tipped. Needless to say I did not tip this one.
