Colin Leece was my dentist for around 5 years while I lived in Ashfield. He was a wonderful dentist - courteous, extremely thorough and trustworthy. It was always easy to get an appointment and he was meticulous about explaining what he was doing during every step of a procedure, which greatly reduced the stress if you were doing a long haul in the chair! He was unfailingly attentive to hygiene and the general well-being of his patients; for instance, making sure you had glasses to to protect your eyes and giving you regular breaks during longer procedures, such as crowns.
The clinic itself had a warm, friendly feel - I loved the little animal figurines lined up along the arm of the dental chair, a nice whimsical distraction for kids (and nervous adults.) The receptionist/dental assistant, Debby, was always helpful and smiling and the two of them had a great rapport and evidently enjoyed working together. Other dentists I've visited have often been curt or dismissive of their assistants, ignoring them or simply issuing orders. Dr. Leece never did this and this is something that I think speaks to his general character.
I had to stop going to Dr. Leece when I moved overseas. Before I went, he very kindly made copies of all my dental records so that I'd have something to give to my new dentist, even taking the additional step of going down to the local library so that the copies would be on nicer paper. This is something that is way beyond the scope of what a dentist would generally do, and was simply something he did to be kind and helpful. Since starting with a new dentist, I've come to appreciate Dr Leece even more. I've realized how very exceptional both his thoughtfulness and his meticulousness were and have even half-considered timing my check-ups so that they coincide with my visits back to Australia! I would recommend him 100%. read more
