the greens were made and surrounds painted and fixed. With that said, the golf clubs handles are so sticky and filthy. After golfing, I suggested to the youngster behind the counter, that they put the golf clubs, handles down in a bucket of soapy water to clean them. All I got was a yea, twice. Just stopped by to play mini golf, I have played there many times over time. My how things have changed! This place is in dire need of serious upgrading. The green outdoor carpet were in terrible condition, the wood rails were equally bad. There doesn't seem to be much of an effort to fix broken stuff. We made a stop at Lee's this past weekend while we were in Alpena. Don't let the dated look of the place fool you...let the retro vibe invite you in! This was a great miniature golf course with some sneaky difficulty. The owner was extremely friendly and the view while playing was spectacular! We were camping for a few days in Alpena and made a trip into town for mini golf & ice cream. We thoroughly enjoyed coming here. The man working the counter was very friendly, helpful with questions we had about the area and accepting of our puppy that was golfing with us. The best put put in Alpena! Right by the coast, cheap, plenty of colored balls to choose from, advanced and easy courses topped with old fashioned arcade games inside. Could it get any better? Every time I visit Alpena Lee's is a must! The course looks basic but be warned, as you advance it's actually tricky! Each course is different than the last and there's even one you actually get to use a real putter. Put it over the water, into buckets, through difficult trails, over hills that need just the right amount of speed, you name it they have it! A few of the wholes are 3 parr and our best was 7 haha. Real golfers can enjoy the complexity of the end courses and your average Tiger Woods can soak in the fun too. It's the perfect family atmosphere that suits any put putter and accommodates all kinds of skill. Extremely entertaining and will keep you on your toes. Just bring bug spray, sometimes the mosquitos can be a bit much. We always play as the sun sets and its the best! Lee's closes at 10! read more

So at first we were going to skip this place because it doesn't look like much. But then I turned to Yelp and read the reviews and saw great reviews. Holy shit, this is the most difficult putt putt course I have ever done (and my friend loves mini golf so much that he had us golf all 3 mini golf places in Alpena and agrees). Definitely check this place out. There is one hole that you have to use an iron club to hit it over a small Putt-Putt sized pond...there were curses passed between all of us. My friend was so awful at this one, the mat with the tee went flying off but her ball stayed right in place. Make sure you hit the Hungry Hippie food cart too. They have good sandwiches. read more

Great family atmosphere with one of the most fun unique putt putt courses I have ever played on. As an veteran Putt putt golfer. I have to say this is one of the if not the best putt putt courses I have ever played on. Not to mention the friendly staff and great food service available out of a food truck that has its own twist on food. Also byob is not frowned upon here as my girl friend and I finished up 12 beers during the 18 holes. Located right off of Lake Huron with a great view and close to a beach to relax at after. Very fun place. It's a long and difficult course. 17 holes. The first half is easy but then becomes very challenging. Also has games inside. The place was very busy with families and groups of adults. Opened until 9 or 10 and busy. The staff is very, very, friendly. And then next door is the city beach and park and the park has swings and things for kids. You can move your car to the public lot and hang out on the beach at night while the kids run around the park. read more

I've been bringing my kids to Lee's Miniature Golf for many years. Now they are grown and continue to go to Lee's Miniature Golf. I bring my grandkids down and it is the best, most affordable golf in town!!! There is a great gameroom and if you get highest score on basketball you win a free game of golf!!! OK it does not have much eye appeal from the road...but it is a fun little course. It is pretty challenging. Will not break the bank...I remember my pops taking me as a kid on vacations and now I am taking my kids. Inexpensive fun course. Lee's is hands down the best mini golf course in town. I try to go there as often as possible because even though I have been going there for 15+ years, it's still a great time. It's definitely a great place to bring your family or friends, and definitely a great place to bring someone visiting from out of town.
