    KFC chicken
    Courtney T.

Overall disappointed by the food at Leftie Lees. I had been once before and gotten the burrito which had been very good. This time the food wasn't as good and we left disappointed. The KFC sandwich was pretty terrible which is surprising given all the good reviews. The gochujang was WAY too sweet, it felt like we were eating candy on a sandwich. The chicken was so fatty that most of it was inedible. The burrito was fine this time but barely had any peppers or onions. The potatoes were crispy but it was mostly just crispy skin and no actual potatoes. Maybe it was a one off day but based on the food, it's hard to say if we'll go back.

Located in the Olive and Pine building in Avondale, Leftie's Lees is a bakery that also offers some menu items. There's lots of seating in the building, mostly communal. The service was friendly and they're very knowledgable about the menu if you have questions. I also had an olive oil muffin that I inhaled. Editing my review because I have ADHD and forgot to discuss the actual sandwich pictured! I got a BLT. It was perfect. The focaccia is fresh, the bacon is crisp and the tomato is either smoked or marinated bc it's super good. I highly suggest it

Based on the previous reviews, I have to assume that this was a one off experience. It could also be that we got here at about 12:45 ... closer to the kitchen closing time. KFC sandwich, biscuit, chicken and gravy were OK. French toast was extra dry possibly because it was made a while ago. Overall disappointing but hoping this was an off day. I see the industrial vibe attempt but I also think they could have done a better job with the kitchen layout and organization Food - 3/5 Service - 4/5 (self serve) Ambiance - 3/5

I came here to pick up an order from TooGoodToGo and was so happy I chose this spot. The staff were so helpful and informative. I didn't know this food hall was here and the employee I was speaking with gave me a rundown of everything in the building. They showed me where everything was located and graciously gave me my order. I asked about the Rice Krispie treats and they explained they are made in-house and were tasty. I bought one and was happy. That was one of the best Rice Krispie treats I have ever had. The restaurant was eclectic and a true fit for the neighborhood. I will be back to try more goodies. I liked the items that were in my box.

    Cinnamon Roll

I didn't have space to try much, but many people had commented that they enjoyed the cinnamon roll, and it was the most enticing item that I saw, so I decided to try it. I was left a bit disappointed, as I didn't feel like there was anything special about this roll. I felt that roll itself lacks cinnamon/butter flavor, and while the icing is good, there's not enough for someone like me who wants the roll slathered in icing. Cute presentation though. I also wasn't sure if the pastry selection was limited because I was too late (I came in at 10am on a thursday), or if they just don't have many offerings, but I was also a bit underwhelmed by the amount of options. Limited free parking, and Leftie Lee's is located inside the Olive + Pine hall. No space to sit within this bakery, but there's a handful of communal tables and chairs within the hall. Note that this place is card only.

We got here pretty early on a weekday and a few of there bakery items were already gone! So definitely come early! We got the lemon and strawberry pastry, ube, cinnamon roll and the olive oil muffin. The olive oil muffin was so good and not dry at all! The cinnamon roll was also pretty good warmed up. The service here was friendly.

This pastries here are a mixture of the classic selections (cinnamon roll), plus Asian inspired selections (croissant with spam), and also just some fun unique baked goods. Everything was high quality and the service was solid. Great experience overall, and very friendly staff. Order: cinnamon roll, croissant with spam, morning bun with purple sweet potato, olive oil muffin. The cinnamon roll was my favorite but the croissant with spam was surprisingly good! The olive oil muffin was a little too oily for my taste but I get the vision.

I've been coming here nearly every Saturday or Sunday for the past year since my kiddo goes to the Little Gym class in the same plaza. It's a fun and busy bakery that also offers breakfast/brunch and sandwiches. Just about all the bakery items we've had here have been good - from the cookies to croissants and various baked goods. My 3 year old's favorites are the chocolate chip cookie and the hot dog bun. We don't usually order the hot menu items but they have offerings like avocado toast to breakfast sandwiches. The menu does change often but one of my favorite items they had was their take on a guava pastry (blame my South Floridian roots). Selfishly hoping they bring it back into rotation. Also, selection on some items can be limited since they may sell out, which has happened a few times, so best to get here earlier for the most variety. Service is always quick, and since the dining space is communal there's usually a spot at the tables or booths to enjoy one's meal.

Always a great experience here especially with private events, custom menus, and delicious food! Service was always wonderful. Nice relaxing and chill ambiance.

Located in the Olive and Pine mixed use market. This place was suggested to me by the coffee shop next door. I approached the counter and reviewed the menu. With their set up you can look right into the open kitchen and see everything is made fresh. The display case had many sweet and savory options for sale. I thought one was a bagel with bacon and cheese, but it was actually a savory danish with cheese and onions. I ended up ordering the Leftie's Egg sandwich. The sandwich comes with eggs, cheese, kimchi mayo, and I added bacon. The friendly young lady at the counter definitely co-signed that the sandwich was a good choice. She rang me up and I thought it was kind of expensive, $20 for a breakfast sandwich. I waited for a few minutes and they called my name. The food was ready super quick. I picked it up at the counter and headed over to one of the open tables in the common space. I opened up my container and was surprised to see roast potatoes in addition to my sandwich. Initially I thought the sandwich would be too much for one sitting, but it turned out to be just right. It was delicious and the roasted potatoes were hot, fresh and crunchy. I chatted with another customer who informed me she always stops here when she is in town. She ordered the chicken breakfast sandwich with a runny egg on top and was raving about it. Leftie is a little pricey, but the food is delicious.

Bakery is located in a food court with limited options. However, what is currently there is amazing!! Everything looked so delicious, it was difficult to decide what to order. Loved that I wasn't alone so I could try two treats. The cinnamon roll and pineapple scone were absolutely perfect. The bakery is right next to a coffee house that is very chill. Free parking is available.

I tried this food stall in the Avondale Food Hall Sunday morning. my dish was not very good. The cheddar kimchi biscuit was hard as a rock and it was like dust. The Korean fried chicken thigh crust was hard as could be. It was a challenge trying to cut it with a plastic knife and fork. not sure when the chicken thigh was cooked but it was not within the last hour of my order. The gravy was passable. That was all I ordered. I did not order anything to drink. And with a tax and tip it was $22. I really cannot recommend this place.

    Christopher B.

Ugh It looked so promising... my friend got and it looked I made the mistake of ordering from the window items. The items behind the glass is a quick grab. I wasn't very hungry so I thought i get a small bite.... it was gross!!! It was so cold I couldn't believe it. I got a little pizza pie and it was 95% dough.... cold dough. There so little filling I throw it away. Maybe it was that one item but it ruined my morning. Lesson here is don't get their quick grab foods. My wife got their hotdog thing and felt the same way. Cold and doughy.

Love this little ice cream shop!…read more I've visited Butter & Cream before, but my latest visit was a favorite. After spending a sunny afternoon celebrating my besties birthday with her and a few of our girlfriends, we decided to keep the fun going with some ice cream. Never too old for a random sweet treat! Although we were already in the neighborhood, we lucked up on a day when everybody and their mama were outside, which meant limited parking. So we had to pay for parking on this visit, but ended up making it worthwhile by strolling around Decatur Square with our cones. I When we entered, there was one employee behind the counter and they were so kind. There were a few customers in front of us and some behind us in line, so apparently we weren't the only adults in the city who were craving a sweet treat. The store was so cute and covered in art and clocks created with ice cream scoops. We decided to taste a few flavors that were new to us and the employee was so patient with us. We all decided to go with the honeycomb flavor, and I added on a scoop of strawberry because I believe in treating myself. I was bummed that they didn't have sugar cones, but a waffle cone worked. My ice cream was SO good! And they were quite generous with the scoops. As I'm writing this out, I'm wanting a fresh pint of my own again. Such a great stop when you're craving something sweet!

I ordered the Cookie Monster with toffee cone bits on top. The texture of the ice cream was great, very smooth and creamy, which is exactly what you want. However, the flavor itself just did not come through. It almost tasted like a base without much depth. The only moments of real flavor were when I bit into the cookie pieces or the toffee bits, which were both enjoyable, but the ice cream on its own felt like it was missing something. It is a bit hard to describe because the consistency was there, but the taste simply did not match. That said, I am not writing Butter & Cream off at all. I have had other flavors here that were absolutely delicious, which is why I am willing to give this one another try. Overall, still one of my preferred ice cream spots in Decatur. I am just hoping for a little more flavor the next time I order the Cookie Monster.

It was a little tricky finding the place, which is for now a stand in a mall. Watching the ice cream being made is really neat--it's like a mad science experiment. I wasn't really sure what to expect. At first I bit into something chunky, and I remembered part of the point of using liquid nitrogen is that the fast freezing prevents big ice chunks from forming so I thought: oh no, science experiment didn't work! But then I realized those chunks were the vanilla wafers that were ground into the Banana Foster ice cream. I took the large cup to the food court and chowed down. Yes indeed, the ice crystals were very fine, giving the ice cream a real premium smooth texture. The flavor was also subtle and built up as you ate it (I think Kelli started from an ice cream recipe passed down from her grandfather).
