The original definition of a legend is a traditional historical tale regarded as true but containing a mixture of fact and fiction. In our mixed up modern times, it has taken on an altogether different meaning and relates to an iconic figure whose talent and persona will be forever inscribed in our history books.
Legends in The Trafford Centre is a framing shop, displayed like an art gallery exhibiting pictures and photographs of our favourite footballers, boxing greats and pop stars. Impressive large black and white photos of true movie stars of old Hollywood are enclosed in solid black frames on white mounts. Their elegance and grace is immortalised on film and contrasts sharply with the Paparrazi images of current celebrities today.
Personally I prefer my frames to contain family pics but I can see the attraction for boys to have a signed print of their sports idol on their bedroom wall and girls will adore the signed photos of Take That. Legends sells good solid frames from £40 onwards and is always busy, although I suspect most people go in to look at the memorabilia rather than to invest in it. read more
