I always love when I find liquor stores that have this as it is just kind of fun being in the cooler especially on hot summer days. They have a selection of your average run of the mill watery boring beer here to pay the bills. They also have a large selection of craft beer that will keep fellow beer snobs happy! Craft beer from around Canada and the world can be found here! I was already sold on this place at this point. I then found out about their beer club. The beer club is amazing. Once you join the club you get discounts at the liquor store as well as options to preorder hard to find craft beer before it goes on the shelves. The real kicker is that every two months they put together a box of 8-10 hard to get craft beer for members costing about $60. This is a great deal as it gets you to try different beer from all over Canada and the World. This box also comes with tasting notes for all the beer that you receive that also includes food pairing notes! They just send you a message saying that it will be ready for pick up on a certain day and you go and pick it up! Once I entered the store was pleasantly greeted by an attendant Jess and she was super helpful recommending an array of beers, wine, and spirits from their vast selection. Being an independent liquor store they offer unique international alcoholic wine and spirits you cannot find at your local BC Liquor stores. The store is so new that their payment system is not even set up to collect the deposit fee which is an extra bonus. YVR employees get a 10% discount on everything in the store and they offer a members reward program (no membership fee) which earns 1% on every dollar spent (example: spend $500 = $5 reward towards next purchase).

It has been a few times when I am wandering through the store looking for a gift. Today, I was probably one minute in the store when Francis approached me to ask if I needed help. He had a paper in his hand and I knew he was in the middle of something. Regardless, he answer my question about a wine for my boss and made a recommendation. Disappointed, I mentioned that unfortunately the wine was sold out. He ask me if I could wait a couple of minutes while he was going to get three bottles of his recommendation that had jut arrived. I mean, this is the definition of goin above and beyond. In the mean time Angelo, another staff that happened to be restocking the BC wines was also helping me. I want to say this is the best liquor store with the most helpful, kind, and knowledgable staff. I then asked Jerry, at the cashier if it was possible to speak with the Supervisor. Jerry very kindly called the supervisor and took me to her. Candy, was the Supervisor in turn and she was so appreciative for the acknowledgement I expressed about the unparalleled service at this store. There is a large refrigerated section which is nice. Their selection is noticeably different (good) from the government stores, but be prepared to pay accordingly (bad). Some of their beer bottles are over $10 each. Yikes.
