I have to preface this with the facts that I have a BA and I work full-time in a job that keeps me on my feet 9-12 hours a day. I'm not lazy and I earn a paycheck. However, I live alone and am responsible for everything, so sometimes I'm in a pinch, as was the case today. I was in need of extra money for bills and so decided to sell several dvds, some jewelry, my dslr camera, and vintage Dudson, Wilcox & Till china. I wanted to support a local business rather than use eBay, so I webt to the Leggs Diamond location in Big Apple Plaza around 11:55 am (they supposedly open at 11 am). The door was locked and there was a phone number on the door. I called the number and was told that the employee was taking care of her horses because it was hot and that she'd be there within the hour. Okay. I have to take care of my animals in the heat and still make it to work on time, but maybe the supervisor/owner is being flexible. I ran some errands and returned around 12:45 to find the door still locked with the sign still in the window. I called again and asked if I could be called when someone was there because I'd already made two trips out there. The man who answered called the person who was supposed to be there and said that she wasn't answering. I waited in the parking lot - wasting gas and battery because it's too hot to not have at least the fan blowing - until around 1 and then went home and listed my items on eBay. There was no apology and no effort other than one phone call and I wasted two hours and a lot of gasoline on my day off. If you have jewelry, go to Gold Leaf Refining in the New Hartford Shopping Center, and just deal with eBay for anything else. read more

Just called to ask about a lost necklace pendant in hopes that it would show up at a local pawn shop and the owner is who I assume I talked to. Rude, loud with me, short, totally unprofessional. Apparently he opens the store whenever he wants to so I asked if they got anything in yet today (as well as asking about Monday) and he said he wasn't open yet... I said ok I'm sorry I didn't realize you didn't open til later afternoon he said "I open when I want"... like ok no wonder you got NOTHING in your store yesterday and all your other locations are closed...why would ANYONE want to do business with you.
