Went here after winning at Harrah's Chester/Philadelphia. I dont win often. But then we went out on the horsey track for a smoker and my friend said, "Ya know what? I could use a shrimp cocktail." Harrahs didn't have it. So I yelled at Google "shrimp cocktail near me." Of course it gave Ack-a-me and Walmart then there was THIS RESTAURANT. We drove the 7 minutes from Harrahs and it was PERFECT. Terrible food! The salad was drowning in so much dressing it was uneditable. I order the broiled seafood combination. The flounder was mushy (over cooked) the scallops, shrimp and lobster were bland, tasteless. Also, the entree was served with melted ARTIFICIAL butter. Potato soup was just as bland as the entree. I've suggested this place to so many people over the years and realized I never reviewed it. Atmosphere: Old School and Charming. A relic of a bow by-gone era that is still alive. Would be a great date night spot, romantic. Waitresses wear formal uniforms, like in the old days. Menu: Steaks, Seafood, Chops - think Steakhouse menu. Food: Above average - I have never had a bad meal here. Portion sizes are about normal. Prices: Slightly high for the area, but compared to CC, a good deal. Facility: Dated and Worn - but that's part of its charm! A remodel would ruin it! Unusual Features: The bar and the dining area around it permits Smoking. Nice atmosphere, has an irish pub and 3 sitting areas. I had a burger and my wife had a Rueban and we were full when we left Lehmans. Great food, no complaints here. Wasn't my choice, but recommend, so we did..... I was very surprised as soon as you walked in your hit with the smell of smoke. Very heavy in the entrance way...once we were seated it seemed to disappear a bit. It's a fairly large place with a few rooms. Old fashion bar area. With TVs and any and all liquors to choose from..guessing they could make any drink you would like. The place was pretty empty for a Sunday around 6ish. The staff was friendly and cheerful. The menu wasn't like..... should I get this or maybe that....I like lots of foods. I was having a hard time deciding on what to get...nothing was jumping out at me...Maybe I just wasn't that hungry. Lots of fried seafood, salads, soups and Italian sauce choices... My friend loves getting spaghetti jand meatballs (thinking that's why he recommended here) something I have never ordered out...just can't do it !!!..He asked me to taste his he was raving about it being one of the best he has had out... It was fair to me, I enjoy homemade gravy NO comparison. He was enjoying it. Very generous portion. A large salad accompanied his dinner. It had it all...and was very fresh and crisp. And a bread basket and butter. It was a bit chilly inside. Decided on the Irish stew hoping it would help me feel warmer...it was freshly made there...it was very tasty. And it helped some. Found this place 20 plus years ago while staying by Philadelphia Airport. Really enjoyed the supper club feel, food, drink and overall vibe. I visited every time I was in the area, year after year. A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to visit again. This time lunch before a flight. Experience was not so pleasant. Service was slow, food tasted like it was store bought rather than cooked fresh on site. Turkey seemed like it was from grocery store deli, and nothing presented with care. Afraid I will not be back, and sorry to say, not so sure how long they can go on with the food and service issues. read more

We were given the recommendation by our hotel to go to Lehmans for dinner. There were so many great things about Lehmans it's charm, it's wait staff, the French onion soup was amazing, The side salads are great portion. The only thing I wish they had was a regular steak on the menu. I wanted steak that night. A ribeye or sirloin would have rounded out the menu perfect. The seafood items were great. I found Lehman's by accident, staying locally for a business trip. The atmosphere is nostalgic with an 70s steak house feel. The servers are all in black and white vests and ties. The menu is extensive with steaks, lobster, salmon, chicken on the menu. I would highly recommend Lehman's. read more

I'm surprised by some of the negativity of the reviews. The food is old-style but very good. If you're looking for nouvelle cuisine, go elsewhere. This is a steak and seafood joint, and it's the kind of 50s-60s food that makes you feel like you had a real meal. Yes, the decor is ancient with wood paneling and colonial chairs. Yes, the place needs an update, but it's in the ass end of nowhere near the Philly airport, and there's not much incentive for an update. The service is excellent. We walked in there with a party of 7 and we were all accommodated. One member of our party was a vegetarian and there are NO vegetarian options on the menu, so they custom made him an alfredo dish loaded with veggies. He loved it. I had the prime rib and it was great. Everyone was very happy with their meals. We'd had a particularly bad meal at our hotel the night before, so this was stellar compared to that. I am knocking off a star for the ridiculous amount of cigarette smoke. The attached bar is considered separate and smoking is allowed, and it's disgusting. The place smells like old cigarettes. Nice little spot. It has a pretty wide variety of choices on the menu. I got the prime rib- very good (as was the stuffed potato). My friend got the stuff flounder. He enjoyed it. Wine selection was pretty good. Beer selection could use a few more options. The prices range from around$15-29 per entree. Food was so-so: had the seafood combination and it came almost cold which means they are not cooked on demand. On the other hand the oysters and scallops had a very strong fishy taste... I understand the mixed reviews herein, as Lehman's is undoubtably "perfectly imperfect." For some the smoking(!) instantly equals zero stars while for others the food/service is simply not up to par. I get it. For me this is another "endangered species" local landmark that is what it is for a reason - history. When I see the proverbial "family owned since 26 B.C." I'm not looking for nouveaux cuisine, I'm looking for tried and true staples, served up in an atmosphere that has a lot of heart and soul. By my scale, Lehman's gets 5 stars. My bartender was warm, friendly and patient. I got exactly what I was looking for for a chilly, rainy-day late lunch: French Onion soup, a liverwurst on rye, potato salad and cold beer. The chubby regular/complainer next to me seemed about halfway to his drinking goal for the day; but he didn't bother me at all. The octogenarian sweethearts behind me were enjoying their soup, coffee and cigarettes; perhaps this is their afternoon ritual? I bet it is. I rather enjoyed their camaraderie in the barback mirror. Where was I? Right, my sandwich was great - almost too much to eat. My bartender took an interest in my lunch selection; and she asked if I liked hot mustard. Not as in "would you like mustard, or mayonnaise?" but more like "pssst, do you like HOT mustard?" like she already knows I do, then offers me some of her own "secret stash" to put on my sandwich! The potato salad was spot on. The French Onion soup was hot, tasty and cheesy. I left her a 25% tip and headed back to the airport... The food, however, was a mixed status. The salads were fresh and served with an ample amount of dressing and variety. My wife had scallops which overflowed the dish they were presented in. There had to be at least 12 scallops. It was served with a baked potato that was well done and mixed vegetables. The vegetables were poorly presented and soggy with rubbery carrots. I ordered the fillet and shrimp Dijon. The jumbo shrimp were butterflied and wrapped in bacon before being broiled and were quite good. The fillet, however, was a different story. I ordered it medium rare, and it was presented medium. It was quite tough and required and effort to slice. The waitress was accommodating and exchanged it for three more shrimp and adjusted the price accordingly. read more

I have been here several times, I would not go back. Menu has been same for 20 years. Still cant get it right. Each time ordering surf and turf and was disappointed. Way to expensive for what you get and the service. Both were slathered in butter to the point it was all you could taste. Steak not cooked right, the baked potato was overdone. Drinks and meal was overpriced and not worth the time. Service was friendly but slow. Dark and depressing. Dirty, dingy feeling to the whole place, dirty bathrooms. We were looking for a place to grab a quick bite before checking in to our hotel at the airport. We thought we were going to be able to get a sandwich but the nearby sandwich shop was closed. We decided to walk into this unassuming place. As soon as we walked in we were attacked by cigarette smoke coming from the bar area. Luckily the bar area is separate from the dining room and we were seated promptly. It seemed odd with the wine glasses on all of the tables and half flopped over folded napkins. It seemed like a ghost town, probably because it was early in the evening on a Thursday. There were a few other people. The floor felt like wood or plyboard covered with outdoor carpet that had no padding. The bathroom does were sticky and felt like they needed some attention... Like deep cleaning. At first glance they appeared fine, though. The menu didn't seem to match the restaurant. There were great looking options, a little on the pricey side but I don't mind if the quality is there. Okay, so the coffee was good. The cheese steak soup was really filling and had good flavor... Just salty enough. I had the eggplant parmesan and my husband had the veal parmesan. They were both cut so thin and battered so thickly that you couldn't really tell what you were eating. All you could taste was the fried batter. The pasta wasn't anything special. I've actually had better sauce from a diner or can. The bread was served cold... Intentionally. It was refrigerator cold. I just am having a hard time finding many good things to say about this place. The service was good. Everyone was friendly. There's not much worth eating near the Airport and this place fits right in. The service was friendly. The portions are huge but I would agree with most of the other reviews. The food was just okay to below average. The place has a real early 60's feel to it including the menu. There is really nothing on the menu that is fresh or contemporary. First, I am staying at the embassy suites near the airport and the restaraunt sent a fan to pick me up and take me back. Awesome.starters I had cream of chicken soup, very good, homemade.
