Mr. Clark got on the line and promptly asked two questions: what assets do you have and what assets does the contractor have? I'm good for it and so is the contractor, but after a few more questions Mr. Clark told me that I was in a "no-win" situation and that filing suit would be a waste of time. Mind you, this is all before even getting to a consultation-stage. I explained that I was not so much interested in monetary damages so much as being made whole, had the documentary evidence to back up my claims, and hoped that a civil suit against this contractor might teach him an important lesson that might dissuade him from treating other clients in a similar manner. Mr. Clark said he would pass my information on to his associate, Alex Mohrbacher, and that I could expect a call back. That never happened. The Ashland area is a small pond next to a big lake, and Clark & Clark Law apparently fancy themselves to be a big fish in that small pond. But unless you're uber-wealthy and have a slam dunk case, this is not the law firm for you.
