Was in Butte for a week of work and needed a haircut. I found Dave's shop on the Interwebs, and what a hidden gem! Family business, old school traditional neighborhood barbershop. This is not the place to come if you want lines shaved into your head, or are trying to be some kind of hipster with a lot of beard products going on...but if you want a well-crafted professional-looking haircut then just come here. Dave does sell Suavacito too, if you're trying to rock your new age pompadour. I'm in SHOCK!! I'm in shock due to two things, one that this business has only one YELP and second that I just received one of the best haircuts of my life. As most of you know, I only write a YELP for SUPER GREAT SERVICE or SUPER BAD SERVICE. I am very HAPPY to tell you that if you ever need a barber RUN don't walk to Leisure Way Barber Shop. I am visiting Montana for the summer to finish writing my book and I discovered Dave Isakson and his business via Yelp & Google. When I called, he told me he could get me in that day and we set up an appointment, which you need to have before getting a cut. When I parked my car, I could tell I was in the right place as the old fashion barber pole was outside of the door and as you walked in, there were a few customers waiting to get their haircut. Dave immediately greeted me and I joined in on the various conversations. Being BRAND NEW to the area, Dave and his customers were very helpful on the local eateries, places to visit and more. Finally, it was my turn to get my haircut for the FIRST TIME by Dave, which can always be daunting. I gave Dave a few instructions and off he went with the scissors. Meanwhile, he was SUPER helpful, in what I should do during my stay in Montana, even going so far as pulling out a map and giving me directions. Meanwhile, my haircut was progressing, when Dave started performing services that I NEVER get in Los Angeles, where I live full time. He cut my eyebrows, nose hairs, ears and more. If that was not enough, he then brought out the big guns, the straight razor and trimmed up EVERYTHING to pure perfection. He shared with me his father started the business in 1962 and it has been there since, one of the oldest in the city, if not in Montana. You could tell as Dave was an expert at his craft and exuded amazing customer service, like one used to receive in the Good 'ol Days. read more

Really enjoyed getting a haircut from Dave. I called right when he opened, and he got me in in 45 minutes. He is extremely personable and I had one of the best haircuts I've gotten in years. Oldest Barber shop in Butte, same location since 1962. DO: call ahead, make an appointment! The proprietor (Dave) knows the town and his customers, so I found the whole experience especially informative because I learned a lot about the town and its people just by asking some basic questions. Hands down best haircut I've had in Butte. I'm 24 and I'm very particular about my hair and like to get a certain cut and most barbers tend to mess it up. But when you tell Dave what you want, that is exactly what you'll get, and it will look good. It's only been a day since I was in there last and I've had multiple people ask me where I got such a good haircut here in town. I've tried most of the other barbers in Butte and I used to even get trimmed up over in Bozeman, but no barber shops compare to the great service and quality work that you get from Leisure way. What a great find! Dave gave me an excellent haircut. I have long straight hair that needs an inch or so taken off every three or four months. I just moved to Butte a couple of months ago and found the shop via Yelp. I got an appointment on the same day that I called.
