    Winnebago Solis 59PX
    Chris A.

We bought a 2022 Winnebago Solis 59PX from Lemke at the end of May 2025. The rig appeared to be in excellent condition, with low mileage of only about 22k. The price seemed fair - not great, not terrible. The purchase process was fairly clean, with a few notes: 1) Lemke did us a solid by insisting that the seller renew the registration as it expired prior to our official purchase date. 2) the addition on the purchase contract was wrong (even after we had asked for confirmation on the total) and we ended up having to write another check on the spot (mistakes happen), and, 3) when we arrived to receive the vehicle after having paid over $800 for a chassis and house inspection, all we had to show for it was a handwritten checklist for the motor. We were told the mechanic always ran behind and we would get something typed soon but everything was fine. We had no paperwork at all on a coach inspection, so we did our own with one of their employees who said he did not believe anyone had checked it. Together we found a couple of very minor things. One item (rubber cushioning on stove plate) was fixed, another was found (back blk curtain), fluid was topped up, but no shower curtain rod was provided. (They say they will fix anything found missing/broken etc in the inspection process.) So would obviously not recommend spending the money on an in-house inspection with Lemke for any rig that appears to be in very good condition with low mileage. Bottom line: The rig was as promised and we have taken it on several trips since then and we really love it. Note that we had also done a lot of our own research to be sure this was a year and model that people were generally happy with and we would recommend the same. Also note that we still don't have the reg tag for the rig, but we did get the title for it, and Lemke and AAA both assured us that it takes forever with the DMV and fortunately the dealer's temporary ones do not expire. So that's on the DMV, not them. In conclusion, the only area of the process we really thought was pretty sub-par (and a waste of money) was the inspection process. At least we were able to track down the chassis inspector who answered a few detailed questions (he only ended up submitting a short paragraph - so different from any other vehicle inspection we have paid for in the past), and we do have his contact info for the future.

First trip in our "new to us" rv from Lemke RV.

We had a very specific type of travel trailer in mind, and Basecamp had what we were looking for. Finding the right trailer is only part of the process--the rest comes down to communication style, customer service, and making the experience as smooth as possible. From our first phone call, the Basecamp team was responsive, and easy to work with. When we arrived for our appointment, Erica gave us a thorough tour of the trailer and answered all our questions. The trailer was competitively priced, but we had been pre-approved for a specific amount and wanted to be sure everything would fit within our budget. While working with Erica, the owner, Skylar, took the time to come over and introduce himself. While there wasn't a lot of room to negotiate, he wanted to make the deal work and did what he could. We really appreciated that effort. The paperwork was straightforward, and a week later we returned to pick up our trailer. Their technician was thorough and made sure we understood how everything worked. As first-time travel trailer owners, we had a good experience. It was a smooth experience. From start to finish, Skylar, Erica, and the entire team made us feel comfortable. We would recommend them to anyone looking to sell or purchase an RV or travel trailer.

Every question was answered, every detail was handled, and we never felt like we were getting the runaround. Kyle at the Rocklin location was also great to work with and made sure everything came together seamlessly. What really impressed us was that RV Max doesn't treat the sale as the finish line. Huge shoutout to Mike, who saw me struggling with a stubborn hitch lock (no key, of course ) and didn't just help--he sawed it off, spray-painted the hitch black, and sent me off with a smile. Who does that?! Legends, that's who. After a few visits (and more than a few questions), I fell in love with the 2021 Shasta 18BH--compact, cozy, and adventure-ready. The owner spent a lot of time explaining the business to us and repeatedly emphasized how he was "a man of his word." He agreed to purchase our RV for a fair price, and we signed paperwork moving forward with the deal. Because we were told the purchase was happening, we paid off the negative equity on the RV based on his word and assurances. He was very convincing and made us believe everything was set. Then, the day before we were supposed to bring the RV in to finalize the sale, we texted RV Maxx just to confirm everything. The daughter responded saying her father was "no longer interested" in buying our RV anymore had already bought 2 trailers and simply said "good luck." What makes this worse is that if we had not reached out ourselves, it appears they had no intention of even informing us ahead of time. After all the promises and talk about integrity, the deal was dropped at the last minute after we had already taken financial steps based on their commitment. As a military veteran, honesty and keeping your word mean something to me. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling misled and disappointed. I would not recommend this RV dealer to fellow veterans or anyone expecting straightforward business practices.

However, as the trailer has gotten older, it seems like they are constantly looking for reasons not to cover repairs, even when the warranty documentation appears to indicate the issue should be covered. The entire program has become frustrating and feels misleading. I've also had issues with pricing. On one occasion, I called ahead and was quoted a price for work. When I arrived at the store, the price was significantly higher. I had to argue with staff and remind them of the amount I was quoted over the phone before they would honor it. Communication has been another major problem. Multiple times I was told my trailer was ready for pickup, only to drive all the way there and discover it wasn't actually ready. That's a huge inconvenience and shows a lack of respect for customers' time. After dealing with these issues repeatedly, I can no longer recommend RV Travel World. The Forever Warranty program has not lived up to its promises in my experience, and the poor communication and inconsistent service have made doing business there far more difficult than it should be.

Staff is very nice and we did bring it in just before Memorial Day so we knew we would probably have a wait. All we needed was generator oil change, checking the water pump and battery load, looking at the tires sensors, checking the roof and a wash. They said we needed new tape on top to keep the solar panels in place and couldn't find anything wrong with the pump. We got it back after three weeks and on the walk-through were actually told that the guys took all the old tape off and cleaned it up when they didn't even need to do that but they thought it was a water repellent issue which it wasn't. So who knows how much extra time went to that at $175 an hour or so. We also noticed later that we didn't get the tire valve caps back and I went to turn on the air conditioner unit in the 96° heat in downtown Saceamento and they had not turned the switch back on for that in the generator. That meant that after consulting with AI during a work event, I I was crawling under the RV in downtown Sacramento on the street to open the generator cover and flip the switch. The work overall cost $1100. Obviously, we did not think it was particularly affordable, convenient and we're not pleased with the handling of the relatively simple items on our list. There's another place not too far from us and a highly rated mobile technician as well that maybe we'll try next time. ARV business model involves multiple different technicians working on the van, which is why it takes so long, but in addition to the inconvenience we just got pretty mixed results on the work.

From the start, the experience felt less than welcoming. Customers are directed through the sales office, where access is blocked and are asked to sign in before browsing. During our first visit, we signed in and explored the inventory on our own. They had a good selection, but we didn't find what we were looking for, so we continued our search elsewhere. A few weeks later, we noticed a trailer that seemed perfect for us. We discussed it and scheduled an appointment with Curtis to talk about financing. We arrived excited, with excellent credit and every intention of purchasing. Unfortunately, the financing terms did not work for us. We were also given the impression that purchasing their bloated $2,500 "Let's Go Camping" package was essentially mandatory. The package included a basic starter kit and a walkthrough of the trailer's functions and operation. We were surprised to learn that even the trailer's power cord was not included if we declined the package. There was little effort made to negotiate. We left disappointed and resumed our search elsewhere. Weeks later, the trailer was still there. We decided we really wanted it and chose to move past the experience with Curtis. We secured our own financing and returned as cash buyers for our third--and final visit. We asked for Curtis, but he sent Simon out. We expressed interest and wanted to take another look. It was still exactly what we wanted, and we were ready to move forward. We made an offer, and Simon responded by searching online to see what other dealerships were charging for the same model. While that approach seemed unusual, we waited to see where the conversation would go. Mind you dealer listing are pre negotiations. He offered to talk to management about lowering the price by $1,000 to match a comparable listing and remove the $2,500 "Let's Go Camping" package, reducing the overall price by $3,500. Although we knew that as first time trailer owners, we needed the walkthrough, we agreed. A few minutes later, he brought back the paperwork. To our shock, the deal was not what had been discussed. Rather than removing the $2,500 bloated Camping Package, they removed the $999 weight distribution hitch and left the Camping Package on the contract. At no point did we agree to purchase the trailer without the hitch, nor were we consulted before it was removed. Considering that hitches can be purchased for significantly less than $999, the change felt misleading and contrary to what had been discussed. We told Simon it wasn't going to work. He asked us to wait a moment, because management would at least like to come say hello. He went and came back, alone - as they declined to come over. We genuinely tried to make the deal work, but at that point we walked away feeling frustrated and disappointed. Having the right trailer is only part of the buying experience. Equally important are communication, transparency, customer service, and a willingness to work with customers in good faith. In our experience, Camping World falls short in each of those areas. Fortunately, there are many other dealerships in the area. Shortly afterward, we found a trailer elsewhere, received excellent customer service, and completed our purchase through a dealership that treated us with respect. Their comparable camping package was only $500. Based on our experience, we would not recommend doing business with Camping World as a buyer or seller. I couldn't imagine having a trailer on consignment there, knowing they do business this way.
