I WANT to like this place, because the guy is quite personable and his frames and lenses are reasonably priced - and I like to shop local. However, I recently tried to get a set of prescription lenses in my sunglass frames, and they were completely unable to get them right. I was told verbally that there was a 1-year warranty against defects (there was nothing written down). The first pair of lenses had sections where there was no polarization. The second pair had visible stress marks that made for very noticeable discolouration when you looked through different areas of the lens. The third pair is clear if you look down your nose, but completely blurry and distorted straight ahead. The owner of the shop refused to deal with me after this point, basically telling me there was nothing wrong with the glasses (implying, I suppose, that there's something wrong with me), and "I just need to let my eyes adjust to them". He refused to provide a refund of any sort. So, I'm now stuck with a pair of glasses I simply can't see clearly out of, and will have to go to another optician, paying out of pocket for a proper pair of lenses. I am beyond disappointed with both the quality of the lenses and the owner's unwillingness to make things right.
EDIT: to follow up, I took my frames to another optician. They got the lenses perfect on the first try, and for a better price than LensMaster, too. read more
