Getting a new pair of glasses in Aiea, Oahu, Hawaii... My cousin has been wearing a pair of glasses with a broken frame for a long time. I took him to his ophthalmologist, who gave him a prescription. Cousin was so excited to go to Lenscrafters at Pearlridge Mall... he said it was the best store because you get your glasses in an hour! Located on the upper level of "Uptown Pearlridge", right next to Macy's, we were greeted by Ross. He was very friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and helpful! I told him that cousin thinks he can get glasses in an hour... not true anymore. Depending on the prescription, glasses might be ready in about 10 days. Ross told me how much insurance would cover and that there's a 20% discount after that! Yay! This location is very spacious, organized, clean, and bright! We had a great experience! Everything went well except maybe to much small personal talk when customers are in earshot. Arrived at 10am when they open and was warmly greeted, filled out a short form and in a short time was getting my eye exam and other test done. Real reason for the five stars is due to Dr. Tsumoto! He is very professional but also connects with his patients and seems to be someone who has the patients best interest at heart! I hope to see you in the future! read more

Had a bad experience with a blonde female tech here that was meant to swap out a current lens into a new frame... she sent me home with a pair of demo glasses, WITHOUT my lens. In other words, she sent me home with the tester frames available on the shelf without my prescription lens. Later that night got into my car to return home and noticed I was not able to see clearly at all because of this error. Luckily, another associate by the name of Chris was able to help me the next day get it sorted and put my prescription lens into the new frames as intended. Been here several occasions and Chris has always been EXTREMELY helpful and accommodating. Cannot say the same for the original associate that swapped my glasses, but thank you Chris for all of your help!! An amazing worker and always courteous. read more

Took my kids for their annual eye exam. Had to change doctors because the last one seemed irritated with kids. Given that experience my kids were nervous. When we walked in EVERYONE greeted us and started talking to kids. I was given paperwork for them and they had them get started. I was nervous to let go on their own but once i heard them laughing, i took it as a good sign. They met me in the hall and told me the machines they did and that they had to wait for their doctors. They had different doctors and both were amazing! They greeted them and just made conversation with them which made them more comfortable. They completed their exams and were ready to pick glasses. I use to go to the Ala Moana store when I was working, then I retired, and began going to the Lens crafter store close to where I reside. I have a pair of prescription glasses I had purchased from the Ala Moana Store and wanted the Pearlridge lens crafter store to tighten up my glasses- the female associate over the phone told me they do not work on glasses from another store- I was dismayed and shocked because it's the same company- all I wanted was to tighten my glasses up- she said no deal, take it to Ala Moana- Um, Ala Moana Lens crafter deals with more people and their customer service has not faltered- they are welcoming and service with the Aloha spirit. Excellent service from Dr. Pham and Chris and also the other lady- which I forgot to ask her name! They were all excellent and very welcoming. Chris gave me ample time to pick my first frame! I wasn't sure which one best suits me so he waited until I was ready. The place is very clean and very big. They have a lot of choices including Oakley, Ray-Ban, Coach, MK, Tory Burch and high end brands like Prada and Dolce & Gabbana. I would totally go back again. I wish I knew her name but I will find out when we pick up our order. She was so patient and stuck with us the entire time. You just don't get this kind of service these days. I never sold prescription glasses before and I know, it's not an "easy job". Sometimes when you do bring in your sunglass frame, thinking you can just put a prescription lens into it, to save a couple of bucks because the frame is in good condition. It's essentially, not that simple. Prescription frames are not the same as sunglass frames. It's like, your saying an apple is the same as an orange, understand my analogy. The reason why I'm saying this, is because of the way the sunglass frame is shaped. There are so many factors to why it's nearly impossible and they are looking for your best interests. The prescription lens is the most expensive part of the glasses and I don't want to put it in any frame that will warp after a couple of years. I want longevity in the quality items I purchase, and I will take great care of it to make it last for awhile. LensCrafters care about the quality and they have standards to uphold coming from a nationwide brand. Back to the fun stuff: The store manager, Naquan is very nice and kind! I see how he interacts with his staff and customers with kindness and lots of respect. Which I feel, is very rare indeed! He's amazing at adjusting my prescription glasses because it's not an easy skill to learn. It can take a couple months - years to understand how to do it right and correctly, to fit a person's face perfectly. The price point is a little high for the glasses, so I would try to come in when they have a sale. A good way to know when they have sales, is to sign up for their mailing list or e-mail online. I came here a while ago and had a bad experience, I decided to give them another chance and was once again disappointed. I pre-selected the glasses I wanted to purchase online and made sure it was in-stock at this location. I got to the store waited about 15mins for someone to finally approach me, no greeting when I first walked-in. I could not find the glasses because they didn't have it on display, it was hidden away in their drawers. Regardless, I went ahead and purchased them, the total came to $717.67, with my insurance, I paid $458.43 out of pocket. After 19 days of waiting for my glasses, I came to pick-up and found that they ordered the wrong one. At this point I didn't care what and where it went wrong, just re-order the correct one. I was then informed that it will take the same amount of time for me to receive the correct order, no expedited shipping, nothing was offered to compensate the inconvenience. If I find that in 19 days they order the incorrect glasses again, I intend to cancel my order and give my business elsewhere. I won't be back here again after this. read more

Ahhh it's a big mainland branched franchise chain nothing special. Been going here for years and pretty much always the same style frames couple new ones. I think I'll explore my options the next time for a better selection and not have to settle for the ones they have in store. The deal breaker for me this time was that my wife's expensive Gucci glasses were shipped to the wrong store wtf! You mean I paid that much money, besides the difference of the cost from insurance that was pretty gangster my shit was shipped to the wrong store and when asked they didn't know which one??? Really guys??? No ways I'm gonna come back here. I just purchased my 3rd pair of glasses from this location. Sharodd helped me five years ago and helped me again this week. He is awesome. He has always been super helpful, made friendly conversation, and made sure I left happy. Any time I even walk in there to browse or anyything, they offer to clean my and adjust my glasses. I have Kaiser now, and they only offer financial help with their in-house optical. I'm willing to pay out of pocket just to stay with Lens Crafters; they are worth it! They have a wide range of options and it's true that they can be on the pricey side (because they have quality, higher end stuff). But this is something I wear on my face literally EVERYDAY. My stepson needed his first pair of glasses. This was the closest place to us that popped up. We walked in with no appointment and were greeted right away. The lady helping was helped him choose some frames that he liked. There was a lot to choose from. They were also categorized by type (Men, Women, Kids and by Brand) After choosing some frames, she walked us over to check if they had his prescription lenses in stock. They did not have it, but they were able to have them in a week Then...DUN DUN DUN!! We found out that he needed his insurance card. eeeek!!! He wasn't covered under me or my fiancé! LUCKILY, the lady helping us was able to find his mom's information. We were able to get him his first pair of glasses with the correct prescription and a protection plan and saved at least a couple hundred dollars. PHEW! I was so impressed by the lady helping us, later throughout the process, we found out she was actually still new and getting training. We would have never known, until she asked for help with the system they had. 2 other staff members were able to help and we were out of there with enough time to still have some sushi for lunch. Stopped by to get our glasses adjusted. Since Covid it was our first time in the Mall. My son and I hesitated about being in the mall and around a lot of people. Anyway, Lens Crafter has a sign i t he front saying they were allowing only 16 people at a time. It wasn't busy when we went so we felt comfortable. Lens Crafters Lens Associate, Mario helped us. He was friendly and efficient. Just our conversation about my glasses and my son's we knew that he had a lot of knowledgeable about glasses. After he did our adjustments he even went above and beyond in cleaning my glasses and they were dirty ! Manager sees "you sure that's what you want"? Then he continues to say that I should have told him so I could do an exchange. If i could give 0 stars i would . I live in kapolei and its more convenient for me to go to this lens crafters versus ala moana . But i already came in TWICE , two different times for two different frames and i always had the same problem with these guys . So i couldnt find any frames in lens crafters that i like as eye glasses so i decided to buy a pair of SUNGLASSES frames from sunglass hut (their sister company) . They were a pair of Tiffany & Co. glasses and they carry this brand at lens crafters also so i didnt think it was a big deal to put clear lenses in them since ive done it before with ray bans . But NO , Mario told me they cant put lenses in them cause they were a exclusive frame to sunglass hut . Like what does that have to do with the lenses ?? He didnt give me any reason about the frame why he couldnt put lenses in them . So it was whatever , i call another day to put lenses in my GUCCI frame and they told me they cant put lenses because my frame was too big ? But again , no reason was given to why they cant just put it in the frame . Ive came to the conclusion that they dont want to waste their time putting lenses in frames that you DONT BUY specifically from them . So unless you buy from their store they wont put lenses in for you . I called lens crafters in ala moana about my frames and they told me to come down and they will look at it , i told them what happened at this location and they told me there shouldnt have been any issue to why they cant put lenses in both my frames . So long story short ala moana lens crafters ended up doing BOTH frames for me and i got them within a week . The Optometrist and his team that work here is definitely a 5 star for their professionalism and commitment to patient's care. However, I will not return to this place at all and I advise you NOT to waste your time and money here. I ordered my glasses on the 11th of the month when I was told that it will take a week or two, at the latest. I've been calling them every week for status since I never received a call from them 2 weeks after my order. Now they told me that the projected delivery date is 10th the following month which is almost 5 weeks from when I first ordered. I need these glasses for my physical exam that is required for my new job. It will not make it in time, so I will have to order elsewhere before that and hopefully I get lucky to receive it before the 9th. Never again! read more

I came to Pearlridge with one mission only which was to find glasses. I had got my prescription from my eye doctor and wanted to come here to see if I would have any luck finding a pair. We walked in and wasn't greeted by anyone off the get go. My boyfriend and I were looking for about 20 minutes and throughout the time only one person came to check on us (there was about 7 standing around talking to each other). Once I found my glasses we were greeted and helped by Roger. Roger helped me pick out options for the best kind of lenses that would be most beneficial for my field of work. He even took my insurance and gave me multiple options and made sure that I got exactly what I wanted, at the price that was okay with me. My lens fell out of my glasses AGAIN last night, while trying to clean it. . .I'm not throwing my glasses around or slamming it on the table or the ground for that matter, I'm trying to CLEAN it with a microfiber cloth that came with the glasses. Oh wait, Lenscrafter Pearlridge will blame me for trying to clean my glasses with the microfiber cloth they gave me when I paid $500+ for my glasses at their store! What the hell is the matter with these people that 1) they can't make the prescription right the first time, 2) they can't FIX their mistake, 3) they blame the customer for their blatant failings, 4) I'm being inconvenienced AGAIN, and 5) I'll be without my glasses AGAIN!!! I used to go to LensCrafters exclusively for my prescription eyeglass purchases, but the past few years I've opted for InSpecs followed by Costco Optical. The main reason for this is that LensCrafters is EXPENSIVE. Quality & fast? Yes. However, if you want the designer frames with fancy thin lenses it always seemed to cost well over $500. For that reason, I haven't purchased anything from LensCrafters in a long time. So what is this rating for? I went in earlier today to get adjustments made on a pair of eyeglasses (D&G frame bought online & lenses done by Costco) and my non-Rx Yves Saint Laurent sunglasses. LensCrafters carries D&G glasses, so I figured they probably wouldn't give me a hard time about getting a free adjustment done on those--even if I hadn't purchased the frames from them. However, they definitely don't sell YSL sunglasses (as far as I know), so it was pretty obvious that I hadn't purchased my sunglasses from them. I was fully prepared to have to grovel to get them to make the adjustments. I was pleasantly surprised that they didn't even ask where I purchased either pair. I found this more surprising, since I do realize that it is a bit of a liability issue for them to attempt to repair glasses that weren't purchased there for free, at the risk that they could potentially break them during the repair. Mario was the sales person attending to me, and he really took his time getting the adjustments down just right--especially for my prescription glasses that I had fallen asleep while wearing one too many times. They were so loose, that they fell off anytime I tilted my head even slightly downwards. I walked away very impressed with the service offered (without charge) and most of all--without hassle. I really thought my glasses were beyond repair with how loose and wide the frame had bent out. It's pretty amazing what they can do with their tools and heat warmer. Employee checks me into the store. Nobody at this location explained to me nor was I given a tray to collect the glasses I tried on. So I went around the store, trying on glasses and putting them back. I was told by the employee the he is almost off and just come on in. He said he would find someone to assist me while looking for glasses. He never explain the new process of not putting glasses back after trying them on. I found some glasses that I picked out, carrying them in my hand since I was never given a tray. I handled glasses and put them back all around the store and not a single employee ever noticed that I was walking around the store trying glasses and putting them back. (Thank you for ensuring the safety and well-being of your customers). If this happened to me so easily, how many other people have done the same thing as I did? I stood in the middle of the store waiting for that "someone to assist me" that person never showed up. I watched as store employees walk right past me and take the next people signed in after me, again and again. Isn't it a coincidence that I was avoided and ignored because my transaction was an exchange? Lenscrafter @ pearlridge does not place any value in customer service unless your wallet is out and if for some reason, you need to do a transaction that does feed the wallet of Luxottica (parent company of lenscrapper) you will be at their mercy for any type of service after the sale. Don't expect or assume that returns at this company are "hassle free" as they are not. After the bells and whistles are added, I always walk out spending $300 - $500 year. One would think that kind money spent at lenscrafters, that you would receive a higher lever of customer service than a self service soda machine. It's very apparent and obvious that the employees at LensCrafters @ pearlridge are commissioned based/quota based employees that are self absorbed in only making that commission or quota. I've been wearing the same old bust up glasses for the past 9 years because my vision insurance isn't accepted by any optometrists near me..except for LensCrafters which I refused to go to. Seriously! Chain doctors offices in malls across America? Are they even real optometrists??? I easily made an appointment online and the next morning walked into an empty store. I immediately got suspicious "hmmm, why isn't anybody here??? It's a front! I knew it!!!!" But I was promptly greeted by staff who wore genuinely friendly smiles. After a few short minutes a technician called me in for a quick screening and preliminary tests; she was professional throughout but we chatted as if we were long lost friends. Dr. Lauren Mordue completed my vision exam. She was very professional and thorough and I was shocked at the new technology used to conduct some of the tests! After my exam, Christopher helped me select new glasses and I'm telling you he is The Eyeglass Whisperer! He brought out several pairs of frames that complimented my face shape and Asian no-nose bridge. He made suggestions, helped me eliminate the ones that didn't fit my face well and with his magic we narrowed it down to the pair! Sooo stop blindly and skeptically walking past LensCrafters! These guys are legit and are open 7 days a week with time frames that will surely meet anybody's crazy schedule! read more
