NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE. 11-22-24. The staff was attentive and helped me to select frames. BUT the associate had difficulty explaining why polycarb was listed 2x on the quote, and she could not explain why my quote just for the LENSES was over $200!!. She kept saying "you can wear these to drive" when I told her about 5-6 times I have 20/20 vision for distance, and my prescription is only for readers and computer usage!! . She practiced "ageism", which is assuming an older female needs eyeglasses to read and drive. It was so frustrating trying to get her to understand . I just left without any glasses. We started with a $271 frame, my insurance covers $200 ($71 to pay). She showed me "it would have been $856, but total is now $271". The explanation was awful. Leslie was very unprofessional and rude to another employee in front of me, the customer. She was passive aggressive and degrading. She rudely asked the other employee if he could multitask while he was helping me. He didn't respond because he was obviously very busy trying to replace a spring type screw. She rudely commented, " I guess not" as she walked away. Matters like these and comments like these shouldn't be discussed in front of customers. If she was unhappy with his work performance, I, the customer, don't want to hear about it while he's attempting to help me. Also, they lost my screw, didn't bother to look for it, and couldn't find a replacement. So I had to buy a whole new frame for $80. $80 when all I originally needed was a screw replacement. read more

I needed replacement for my two years old eye glasses. LensCrafters accepted my eye insurance and carried the Varilux progressive lenses that I preferred, so I went. There were nice selections of name brand frames that fell within my insurance budget. I also got a nice pair of sunglasses with in house progressive lenses for less than $100. The employees were extremely friendly, informative, and helpful. The glasses were ready as promised. I definitely will return for my next pair of glasses. read more

Definitely was treated like a COLOR at this location! Yes, I am of African heritage and the girl assisting me (or more appropriately not assisting) was Asian. After waiting 30 minutes for even an acknowledgement from someone, the first free associate walked passed me 3 times. I finally stopped her and asked for assistance. She proceeded with a very dull and unenthusiastic, 'I can help'. She then asked if I would be using insurance to pay. Please note that she had JUST assisted an Indian family in which she asked them, 'which insurance are you using', but with me the question was, 'will you be paying out of pocket or by insurance'. After explaining that I indeed have insurance she let me know about the lenses offered. However, when I questioned which plastic was used in the lenses, she became frustrated and went to ask her boss. Just a side note, I work in the polymers industry and I know A TON about plastics and how they perform thus this is why the question was asked. After returning she informed that the plastic is a "CR39" or something of that nature but I know that this is not a type of plastic. She then shrugged her shoulders, rolled her eyes and walked off in a manner as if to say, "I gave you the best answer, now leave me alone!" I soon realized that she did not want to assist me and was not willing to make the sale. She didn't return with an answer and immediately starting assisting another family that was also not of African heritage. In fact, the FIRST thing she did was invite them to sit at the desk so that they can explore options. I was not ONCE asked to sit and I'd had my lenses picked out, ready to purchase! This is the first time that I endured such blatant racism at any Lenscrafters. I had EVERY intention of walking out with a new pair of glasses and I was actually very excited about it. But after that encounter, I will never buy from this company if that's how I will be treated. read more

Try to be helped by Mohammed (a tall, dark-haired fellow who is dressed in business attire and wears black glasses) as he is the manager: he is personable and knows how to run a business. However, this is a store "for the masses" and if you do not accept this before you enter you will be frustrated. It appears to me that they do not have enough floor personnel to assist clients, but I only went twice in the late afternoon hours (5 pm ish). Though they got to me fairly swiftly, expect a few minutes wait or longer if someone is starting from scratch (choosing lens, ordering, etc). I dropped off a pair of sunglasses inserts (plastic, they snap into frames with multiple shield lens options). I called 10 days later to see what was up cause I had no call from them as the lenses had to be ordered. So then I'm put on hold for minutes and finally told they were ready but she couldn't find the frame and could I please call back because she was with a customer {Ummm, then why in the heck did you answer the phone and what am I? Chopped liver?} [How to Run a Business, Tip No. 1: DON'T EVER SAY THIS TO A CLIENT AFTER YOU HAVE ANSWERED THEIR PHONE CALL AND ATTEMPTED TO HELP HIM/HER ---- "I'm with another client and ....". In doing so you imply that the client standing in front of you is more important than the one on the phone. If that is indeed true, then you need someone who ONLY answers phones.] Well, duh, there was no frame, they're inserts I am finally able to interject through her repetitive tirade about how she cannot really help me now and she cannot find the frame. Then I'm put on hold again and told they are ready. When I got there, they used the wrong insert. Mohamed wasn't there anymore either. Joanne helped me and took images of the incorrect ones they made and the correct ones to send to Mohammed via cell (I have two pairs of these sunglasses and brought the second in case they had cracked the insert). I was very annoyed after going out of my way to pick these up, wasting time cause they would be "ready in an hour" after I hung up the phone. I even wasted more than an hour in case they were swamped, silly me. I left the LC store with firm instructions that Mohammed needed to ring me when he arrived in the morning. And ring me at 10.05 am he certainly did.... Mohammed gets a GOLD STAR for rectifying the situation. He apologies, says he's going to refund 50% of my purchase price ($112) and instead put a higher quality lens into the insert. The explanation is: Because they had to order my lenses (I went least expensive due to needing gradients and the lens was too small for this to be useful) he was afraid the insert would go missing, which is what happened, then they pulled the wrong one when I called to assess availability. [Flashback: "But these are the ones Mohammed told me to use when I called him after your call." Wrong answer...] Now, they have the lens in stock and as soon as I drop off another insert, they will make them in one hour. I gave him my credit card over the phone and he refunded me immediately, but also offered to wait and do it when I was in the store, which I declined due to the relatively constant flow of people through this location (it's in a mall, ack!). FYI: I tried to go elsewhere to get the insert made but they wouldn't as they didn't come with a lens already inserted that the lab could pop out to make a tracing of. LensCrafter's lab is clearly more adept, and although this was a frustrating experience, the refund was the correct solution. I will not return for other items unless I have no other option (another insert is needed), but Mohammed is the star at this location. read more

I love high end products at below retail price that's why I always thought getting my glasses at Costco was the best of all worlds. its not. But it is cheaper if you can wait 7-10 days and don't need latest lens technology. I do. I went to LensCrafters. they were most efficient..high tech connected to my vision insurance pulled up the insurance. Applied to my order. Fast. I'm impatient. Then the tech measured eyes/face with another very accurate looking piece of TexhnoAdvanced vision apparatuse. She recommended a perfect frame by Ralph Laiten available in my size 51 .lems crafters had transition lenses that are more advanced than what Costco has because Costco and all the other big wholesalers (I JUST learned) buy theier inventory of lenses in bulk and they're still selling the older version. But Transitions has a newer versio÷ theyget muxh DARKER and POLARIZED... in my Rx within 2 hours! I I was in and out. ...Without having to try on the glasse because their technology makes the fit so perfect. love it read more

I am a long time customer or Lens Crafters and as of recently I am very disappointed in the customer service I have received from Store 750 located in First Colony Mall in Houston, TX. When I first arrived at the location to purchase frames, I noticed how poor the customer service was and how they did not greet nor serve with a friendly demeanor. While purchasing, I ran into many road blocks with my representative not able to pull my insurance and not trying to find a way to bypass this issue. I told her when I arrived that she may need to call to verify, but she did not listen to my recommendation. I have also been to Lens Crafter locations where I was able to received my glasses same day as purchase. When I learned this store did not do that, I asked if there was a location in Houston that does offer that service and I was told "our company no longer does that". As I waited for my representative to call my insurance, I pulled up the company's FAQ and learned that she had given me false information. I continued to proceed with the purchase because, like mentioned earlier, I am a long time customer and I needed a pair of glasses as soon as possible. Once the representative confirmed my insurance, I asked how long it would take to received my glasses and I was told "4-7 business days". I paid for my transaction in full and left the store. Still very disappointed in the customer service. I called the store on January 6, 5 full business days, to check on my glasses. I was reassured that they would be in on January 13th. I was also told that it takes 10 business days, which goes against what I was told when I made the purchase. Once again, I received the wrong information. I came to the store this morning and was told that "we do not received mail on Saturday and your glasses are not here". When I asked for the company's corporate number, I was told in a rude manner "It's 1-800-LensCrafters". When I asked for the store number, again in a rude manner, I was told "our business card is in front of you." As I left, I was as not reassured about my glasses and they no longer wanted to assist after I asked for the corporate number. Never once did I raise my voice, argue, or showed any hostility towards those who assisted me. I showed respect even when I was not given the same in return. This email is to inform the company that I have now waited 10 full business days for my glasses and have not received them. This will be the final time I ever order from your company. I am very displeased with customer service both in person and over the phone. I realize that my business is not appreciated, therefore I will be sure to spend my money where it is valued and I am able to receive my glasses when I am promised. Maybe thy should consider a tracking system for customers to see the process of their glasses and when to expect them. So I had a guy to hold a pair of glasses for me and a day later after I received my latest eye prescription I happily went to the store to get those frames .After the lady searched the on hold drawer she announced that there were put back on the shelf?!?! I found the pair that I think were the ones I chose the day before and now she says their insurance system is down so no can do, I will have to come back tomorrow.. My husband and I both had appointments with the Dr. this morning and were in the office before 10AM for the 10AM and 10:20AM allotted times. Dr. had a whole family in the office and when the mall opened at 10AM he suggested we go pick out our frames as it would be a 15-minute wait and he would come get us when he was ready. At 10:40 AM the receptionist began to write-up our order and I told her I was not going to pay for an exam I had not taken. Anyhow, at that point, I could not in good conscience award my hard earned dollars to a man with such little regard for our time. We left and happily found an eye doctor in the mall who saw us on the spot. I would not recommend this doctor. I went into this store in search for some glasses and I found the pair I wanted. The girl who checked me out was very polite but her manager/ leader seemed very rude to me. She was an asian woman with round glasses and dark hair. I brushed it off and purchased the glasses anyway. A week later I get called to pick up my glasses and when I'm handed my glasses, they're not what I ordered. The frame was the incorrect one and wasn't even close to the frames I ordered. I purchased a pair of safety glasses from the Sugarland Location of Lens Crafters less than a year ago. Granted I didn't choose a warranty because you shouldn't need a warranty for something that's new. If it tends be break within a year, like these safety glasses did. That means they're defective..! Q/A Q/C should have caught this simply and returned them to the manufacturer "Walah...!" Well, not in this case of Lens Crafters store #750 Sugarland, Tx. As, if a $500.00 dollar purchase of transitions lensed safety glasses isn't enough show of commitment to quality beyond quantity. I was forced to re-purchase the same defective design safety glasses frame twice. Because, the General Manager Erica Cernosek who never once said I'm sorry this happened "Sir...!" let's get this straightened out. As, she chose to make everything my fault by not choosing a warranty upon the initial purchase that would have rectified everything. That would have only made my 2nd purchase cost $25.00 dollars instead of $99.00 for my customer happiness guarantee. What a crock...! "Right is Right...!" if you see what you sold me is trash and it is not the fault of Lens Crafters write it up as defected product and send it back to the manufacturer....!" And, have them honor your business..! The customer before you shouldn't feel like you have a low opinion of them when the only bad thing they have done was choosing to do business with this location, and these very unprofessional people, of which some are managers, but who doesn't even understands who pays them.. They think Lens Crafters pays them...! Well, that's my take on my experience. CORPORATE..., if you read the reviews at all you need an intervention program ASAP...! They also had some cool high tech gizmo that takes a digital photo for measurments. Everyone was polite, but it was busy when I went on Saturday. Took about an hour to get them, so it was convenient to have Dillards right next door, because I did not want to wander the rest of the mall blind without my glasses. They do have this cool gadget that measures my eyes with the computer. The place was busy around 2pm, but I the Lab Manager that helped me was very nice and informative.
