Small queues, and I've only ever received friendly and efficient treatment from the employees here. Still rubbish of course, in the grand scheme of public services, but we've come to expect that from the Post Office now, and this one at least has a spark of convenience in it.

As for the post office itself? Well, it gets three stars because of its friendly staff. In actual fact it's rather irritatingly shoehorned into a small RS McColl's meaning it's a complete nightmare to queue in. For that reason, you should really do your best to visit at less popular times. And preferably in the school holidays.

It's a large building with many different parts to it of which the actual Post Office counter is only a part. There is a newsagents, a (tacky) gift shop and a cafe. The service from the Post Office staff is always helpful and friendly but there has been more of them standing outside having a smoke than behind the counter on more than one occassion when I've been there. The clientele bring a certain ambience to the locale. I've never heard so much swearing in a public queue in my life and there's usually a small crowd of tracksuits at the front door waiting on one of their friends cashing a giro or stealing a Mars Bar from the newsagents. Great if you're only in it for the Post Office but the rest of it makes it all a bit weird for me.

The staff are nice and friendly, and it is not a cramped place - large room with all the expected parcel items like envelopes, packing tape, padding etc. The card range is quite good too. There have never been big queues which is a nice change from other post offices I have frequented. You can park outside or further along the road as it is not 'yellow lined' or parking metered. There is a chemist next door if you need to pick anything up which is handy.

A great little post office and general stores, I called in there today to send a parcel. The staff…read morewere very pleasant and helpful and I ended up buying several things I'm so easily tempted to spend money!! For a small shop it has a good range of things, from groceries and confectionery to greetings cards and postcards of Glasgow, to magazines and newspapers. You can play the national lottery here or have some photocopying done; there's a Bureau de Change within the post office area and a passport photo service offered too. There's a large car park just down the side to the left of the shop which is very handy because it's almost impossible to park on the main road.

There is also a TV monitor which shows adverts for local businesses which can be useful. I have noticed that the staff are patient with difficult customers and are on hand to help the elderly if they have any problems. The entrance has no stairs which is good for disabled customers although parking can be an issue as it is located on a busy main street. However, Lidl is not far away and cars can be parked in their car park. They have recently installed a cash point machine for the convenience of customers.

Opening at 8.30am it gives people opportunity to buy stamps, pay bills, etc before going to work. Staff in general are friendly and helpful both for customers and each other. Sometimes though there aren't enough staff on the counter and queuing takes ages. Also if you are in the queue and remember at the last minute you need an envelope, you have to leave the queue to buy the envelope at the shop counter, before joining the post office queue again.

Sadly Greenhills Shopping Centre is lacking shops and life these days and the last two times I have been to the post office at lunch time there has been no queue which leads me to believe it won't be around for much longer. The staff are friendly enough and willing to help out where needed. My mail always gets where it's going so I have absolutely no complaints about the place.

The staff are kind of friendly. Not super friendly. But friendly enough. For large parcels there's a hatch to pop your stuff in, and they tend to be pretty efficient so there aren't too large queues. Note: if you have cash, you can pop out to the Royal Mail Delivery Centre off Ayr Rd to do you posting. But you might as well do it here.
