They don't even LOOK like egg rolls - soft, brown rectangular pouches. Seemed clearly manufactured in a factory elsewhere, and warmed up here. But don't take my word for it - stop in and order an egg roll - invest a few bucks for the experience of the worst egg roll you've ever had. On the front window was a big permanent sign, about their "famous Kung Pao chicken" with "homemade sauce". So we ordered that, and a couple of other dishes. I never found enough sauce to report on - I guess it was sprinkled on the top. But here was the problem: each main dish consisted of a layer of the main item, on top of a whole lot of plain white rice. About 1/4 of the ordered item and 3/4 plain white rice. So for the terrible egg rolls and paying for what was largely simply plain white rice, I can't give more than one star for them. And lest you think I'm a negative person who writes critical reviews, I've probably written about 25 restaurant reviews on Yelp over the past 25 years, and if you look them up, you'll find they're mostly 4 and 5 star reviews. Being from California, where we are sometimes over-served in restaurants, I was not used to the payment system (the waiter doesn't bring the bill to you!), but we encountered this in most of the other restaurants we ate at in PEI, so I guess it's typical. The food was fresh, fast and delicious. The korma was a beautiful blend of creaminess and milder spices. Mild but flavourful. The paneer was a delicious semi firm cheese set in a beautiful dish with caramelized onions and a nice mix of spices and black cardamom. This is the type of food that the better Indian restaurants serve. Flavourful, aromatic, and inviting. The place was very clean, and there was a lot of room to relax and have a nice meal. We recommended it to so many friends. A couple of evenings ago we placed a take out order of Wonton soup, fried wontons, dumplings, and beef chow fan. My husband came home with the order, opened the bag, and it was just the soup, wontons, and beef fried rice. He called the restaurant and spoke with a male who tried to argue with him that the order was right. Finally he said ok, come back for the chow fan and dumplings, and bring the fried rice back. My husband got there, and the man did apologize, and charged him for the chow fan and dumplings with a 10% discount, and he wouldn't refund the beef fried rice, which he took back. My husband came home upset. Now we had paid over $85.00 for an order that should have been $64.36 including tax, and one of the things we paid for stayed at the restaurant. We did end up eating what we had, most of it was good, except the fried wontons were burnt. Done. Never going back again.
