Dr. Ricks has been helping me for the past few weeks. He's kind, which is most important to me. But…read morehe also listens, has a good sense of humor and the whole office just has a good routine going. Everyone I've met at the office has been nice. When you're already in pain, the best thing is being around nice and helpful people. It's a busy office, but the layout is such that you don't realize how many patients are there. I'm looking forward to progressing in my treatment plan and trying some of the other services available. There is acupuncture, massage therapy, k-taping and they sell a bunch of products in the reception area. They have some holiday specials going right now! And they have Saturday hours, which is how I finally convinced my husband to try chiropractic services for the 1st time! A monumental, epic moment last Saturday in my life! I've been the one he's relied on for decades (yes, decades, together 33 years and still going) to massage his neck and hips, but I'm getting older and it hurts my hands so I can't tell you how thrilled I am that he's started his own treatment program with Dr. Ricks. And so now my adult daughter has decided to try it, too, and has her new patient appt next week. Life is good!!

I'm a middle aged guy who's no longer a competitive athlete but still quite active. I stupidly went running on a badly rutted trail (frozen in Jan) and ended up tearing knee my miniscus. Dr. Taylor was able to diagnose quite quickly. Have also been seeing Dr. Taylor for a number of years to get spine/neck adjustments (hit by a car cycling 20 yrs ago broke all the ribs on my left side). I also have triplets who are HS athletes. The kids have all gone in for one sports injury or another. She's always provided practical, effective treatment and training advice to get them back in the game. Dr. Thea Taylor is a real asset to the Clear Lake area.

Dr. Taylor was referred to me a few years ago but I kept delaying only to create a laundry list of problems. I had been suffering from a severe case of shin splints, and plantars fascitits for 5 to 6 months. Running was painful or non-existent. I had tried other treatment modalities but nothing offered relief. I finally made and kept my appointment with Dr. Taylor. Understanding that every body, every issue, every injury is different she approached my treatment from multiple directions and a few different techniques. My appointment was in the morning and that evening, after almost 6 months of pain I was able to run PAIN-FREE. Staying consistent with my treatment with her and completing "homework" I was able to run pain-free for the remainder of my season. I've had older issues that she's also been able to alleviate to the point of just needing "tune-ups" here and there from muscle cramps, low back pain, SI joint dysfunction, multiple herniated cervical and limbo-sacral discs. I look forward to my visits with her because she doesn't just treat the issue/injury but the whole patient. There's a positive energy that she brings into her practice that I believe many practitioners are missing. Her combination of realistic and holistic solutions has been such a blessing in my life- from nutritional/supplement advice, to fitness advice on proper technique and injury prevention, to taking minute to to be fully aware and walk barefoot in the grass.

The front door was unlocked, but the reception window was closed. I waited and waited for someone to greet me or check me in. I heard people talking behind the frosted glass, but the window remained closed. After 15 minutes passed and the conversation behind the glass tuned to tacos, I decided to call the office and alert the staff that I had been waiting and that we were now well after my appointment time. This worked and staff opened the window and handed me a clipboard with the paperwork they wanted me to fill out (paperwork they told me they would email me when they called me the day before). At this point I was too irritated by their disrespect of my time to continue with the appointment. The irony is I received no less than a dozen texts and emails leading up to my appointment telling me to respect their time and show up early. I have experienced long waits at doctor's offices before... but that is usually because the doctor is taking extra time with patients. That I understand. But chit chatting about breakfast tacos behind a closed window ignoring the fact that your first appointment of the day has been sitting idle in the waiting room for a quarter of an hour is just bad business.

The introductory offer cited my shoulder pain and the staff was friendly and professional. In and out in less than an hour! If you suffer from injury or pain, I suggest that you give the good people at Gulf Coast Healthcare a try. My only beef, is that they do NOT accept insurance.
