Les Freres Dutruy is one of my favourite wine makers in Switzerland. It was the first red wine in Switzerland that I really liked. I found it in a restaurant soon after moving here, and then found it for sale in the local Manor. I hadn't had a chance until just yesterday to visit their tasting room. It was a special open doors tasting event for their 2011 winter wines. The tasting room is located in the centre of Founex village, and is easy to find. It is in a historical building, but the decor inside is beautifully done in light wooden modern tones. They are open for wine tasting every Saturday from 10-1pm. I don't think they make any bad wines. I have tasted them all, and they are good, but there are definitely some that shine above the rest. They have three different labels, one is from a vineyard in Founex, another is from a vineyard in Coppet, and the third is a combination of the best grapes from either of the two. The business has been in the family for multiple generations, and is currently run by two brothers. This is a fantastic place and definitely worth a visit. Bonus the owners are extremely friendly and the service is great. read more
