The wine list is really large for such a small place and the bottles are pretty reasonably priced. I had a whopping one (vegetarian) option - white truffle ravioli. It was good, but didn't bowl me over. However, in superb Parisian style, when I asked if they could give me a bigger order (it was on the menu as an appetizer) to have as my main dish, they brought me two of the same dish. Seriously, you couldn't find a bigger dish? Oh, and they brought it to me in between the rest of my group's appetizer and main dish. So, I sat and watched the others eat dinner. (Shame on me for not being a good meat eater!) I requested but was refused a plain salad. Sometimes I want to give up on eating out in Paris. Not a horrible dinner, but no real need to go back. It was beautifully presented with the sweet potatoes serving as a bed and sprinkled lightly with cinnamon. I started with the pumpkin soup which was the perfect starter in a cold day. My friends enjoyed the Daahl which they enjoyed immensely. There is also a great selection of organic wines which also surprised me. Leave room for dessert as the tiramisu was outstanding. It was not too sweet or heavy just delicious. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. They were also kind about speaking English when I didn't understand an item. Super attentive and the restaurant owner greeted us when we arrived, check on us at each course and made sure we were satisfied at the end. It feels like a neighborhood place with a globally inspired menu. The food is so good. You'll forget it's healthy and organic! The ambiance was lively but still quiet enough to enjoy our conversation easily. There's a great energy with the patrons and staff. I've been to a lot of restaurants in Paris but few have an authentic neighborhood feel. Yuman does. If you're in Paris, I highly recommend you head to Yuman. It doesn't matter because you're here for their wonderful southwestern French food which is a real bargain. I was there once again with my mother which, as usual, increased the amount of the bill. We started with two glasses of champagne. Then my mother enjoyed a marinated salmon partially cooked with citrus fruits and leek. Delicious! I tasted it! All the ingredients melted in my mouth. I had a Carpaccio of gilthead bream with fresh ginger. It was an invitation to travel. I was ecstatic once again! The second courses were great too. My mother had calf sweetbreads (which are glands, from the neck or throat of a young calf or lamb. A typical French delicacy) were so tender and very lightly flavoured. They were accompanied by carrots with their leaves and parsnip (panais in French. It's a kind of turnip with a slight nutty taste) in a sauce made of Banyuls wine (a French sweet red wine). How original and flavourful! This dish was a hit! I had a Pave de veau (Leg of veal) with a puree of black potatoes (vitelotte). They were mixed with usual potatoes to avoid the specific taste of the Vitelotte. On the picture you can see the purple colour. The meat was juicy and tasty but the purple mashed potatoes didn't add anything special. As a dessert, I enjoyed a crème brulee with Tonka beans. Those beans give a caramelized taste. It was nice. But unfortunately the dessert chosen by my mother (a macaron in tiramisu fashion) was served completely dry. A great deception for her. We didn't immediately complain but had a look at our neighbours' plate who took the same dessert and it seemed quite ok. When the owner, M. Pascal Noizet came to us to know if we had enjoyed our meal, we told him what happened. He offered to us right away two glasses of champagne to ease the pain. And it worked well! Pascal Noizet also had to step in when we arrived at the restaurant. We had booked a table for two and had been seated in a little and unpleasant corner. We immediately asked if we could change places. The answer of the waitress was negative. She didn't want to give us another table although there were some available tables in the bigger room. She said It was for a group. So my mother asked Pascal if we could change places. He immediately seated us where we wanted. He said "no problem". As we say in French, It's better to talk to God than to His saints. I noticed that the service can be amateurish and not always pleasant. Our waiter couldn't manage to properly pour the wine without putting big drops on the table. Even though the service can be average, you really have to try this place. Our dishes were very tasty, on a very high level. And 50 euros (three courses and a bottle of wine for two), the advices (we took a Savigny-les-Beaune 2006 of Nicolas Potel) and professionalism of Pascal Noizet are really worth it.

The kitchen was still closed at that time; the waitress said it would open at 8pm. After being given a menu we were not able to order drinks for another half an hour due to a combination of absence and inattentiveness by the wait staff. It took another half an hour and two requests for our drinks arrive. The Stromboli cocktail was good, but could have been fresher. At 7:15pm, we finally ordered the Shrimp and Asparagus Risotto. Thankfully, the food came out very quickly and was incredibly delicious. The shrimp was not over cooked and was just enough for the portion. The asparagus was tender, juicy, and sweet. The risotto itself was perfectly cooked and tossed in a lovely, buttery sauce. All three components worked together very well and was definitely enough to make us forget about the slow service. I would definitely recommend Fuxia for delicious Italian food, but not before 7pm.

As for the buffet, I tried to sample as much as I could of the quiche, lox, fruits, cured meats & cheeses, and breads & pastries. I wish we had more time to sit for breakfast and enjoy the entire spread of food--unfortunately, we had a tour we had to get to and we were short on time.
