It's December 21st. The car is loaded with gifts, clothes and a black lab. My wife and I are driving to Southern California to take care of her parents. As we stop for food, we notice the car feels weird. We see one lug nut busted off, and the wheel is rattling. We had the 2010 Subaru Outback checked by the dealership, and had our local seattle Les Schwab do a rotation right before we left. As we limp the car into the Grants Pass Les Schwab, the manager says 'let me take care of this...' Thirty minutes later the car is on a lift. Within an hour the car is fixed. We stopped in at this Les Schwab after noticing a low tire on our 25foot motorhome. We were on a long road trip from Arizona to Seattle. They found a place to park the motorhome, replaced the failed tire, and got us back on the road in an hours time. They even directed us to a nearby dog park to entertain our pup. My boyfriend and I were in town and we had a tire blow out. Les Schwab helped us out and we replaced all four tires. The service was fine and the product was fine until three weeks later the tire and the wheel flew off our car and flew 100 feet into a field. Luckily, the tire did not hit anyone. We got towed to another Les Schwab in Klamath Falls (for the warranty). They told us the Les Schwab in Grants Pass over torqued the lug nuts causing them to essentially shred off the wheel. For a tire place (any auto-mechanic place) this is ridiculous. If you chose to go here keep the receipt for the warranty! read more

I was traveling from Ca. to Wa. On Monday, Sept. 20th. I stopped in Grants Pass for gas, the attendant told me my back license plate was hanging by one screw. He did not have the right screw, so told me to run by Les Schwab. I met a employee named Scott who didn't have the right screw either. I asked if he could take the front plate off which he nicely obliged, and took the fitted screw to place on the back plate. He could have not helped me, but he did, (I had taken him from his working on a vehicle), to helping me. I offered to pay with a twenty dollar bill, he politely refused, we had a pleasant short conversation, with thank you's and you are welcomes, what a very nice helpful man with a nice smile. Well im so dissapointed by the way my experience at les Schwab. I had a flat tire so i took it in to have it repaired. Great job and free! Or so i thought. The guy named Tyler W A said not only did he fix my tire that he put my spare back in the trunk and put it all together. I was impressed for about a minute. We left there and went to the market and when we got out of the car noticed something poking out of the back of the trunk. It was the fastener to hold the spare in place. Omg! Then we noticed the jack crammed into the right corner and my 30.00 pet carrier was busted up. I spoke to the manager and said he would look at the cameras. I had a flat tire while carrying a trailer with a van and expensive solar panels! There was air still in the tire so I detached the the trailer and asked my father to stay with vehicle! I called les Schwab and asked how much for 285/75/16 and they said like 651 for four! I call again to let them know my attempt to drive there was a fail and I had a blow out and would need a two and my father is with the vehicle and it's hot and I needed a quick response and if not I could find another alternative! They assured me they had the tire and would have it ready and set to be serviced! I get there and they said the tire was 1200 something and that they must of heard 265/75/16! Than they don't have the tires ready and I come back a hour later and the car is in the parking lot with one wheel off and still hasn't even made it inside the shop!!! I mention this and the guys response is "we are busy and will get to it as fast as possible" first off if you couldn't service me with how you promised than fine! Don't lie and than do another! We first went to Honda (it's a Honda) to see what they could do, and they said they didn't feel comfortable touching it, and recommended this Les Schwab down the street. The service attendant at the counter of Les Schwab took a quick look at the tire and said it was fixable! Only about 15 minutes later it was repaired and for no charge at that! Pains me to write this review.With many years of great service and my loyalty they really did not live up to what we all expect this time. We dropped off a 3wheeler tire on Friday mid day and was told it would be ready next day. That was a little surprising to have to wait, but ok. Usually everything is same day and quick. Came back Saturday about lunch time to "Its not ready and should be done later today"? When asked when so I don't have to travel 14miles again a tech came out and the story kinda changed. "We have to get a new tire from Medford (30 miles) and so far we have not been able to go get it" I offered to drive the 60 miles round trip to go get a tire and they said no that they were arranging to meet somebody half way to do an exchange. So about 1.5hrs layer still no tire. While in waiting area looked up and saw lady in cast and crutches struggling to open door and two LS guy right next to her not helping. I get up to go help but she had door open before I could get there. At two hours waiting I asked for update and was told tire is in its way. So about two hours waiting tire has arrived and finishing up getting mounted. Will get all this done in Medford next time knowing they don't have these tires. This is the best tire shop chain in the West, period. And the only one I have seen that offers complete service with a smile. No matter the weather, rain, sleet, blazing hot summer sun, the staff exudes warmth and caring. I have been to this shop with flats (always fixed free), summer trip tire pressure checks (always free), and to buy tires....(not free, but no higher than other tire shops, for the most part). The television ads all talk about service. Les Schwab means service in the tire business. And no, I was not compensated, nor do I work for them. I am just glad they are here, and wish they were also in our winter home area of Palm Springs. But they appear to be from Central Calif. to Washington, and I think some intermountain states. read more

These guys are the best. I have been going to Les Schwab's for years in many different cities and they're all equally the best. Now I'm in Grants Pass and Jay was fantastic. I'm trying to squeak another 5 months out of my PT Cruiser with 152,000 miles, and Jay did everything he could do to help me accomplish that with no charge. This is what builds loyalty. Went here last week as our SUV front end was making a slight noise/wobble/thump. David took me for a test drive and looked underneath (no charge)... and found front tie rods were loose..and gave me a "no-hard-sell" estimate. So far, so good. I asked for a $64 spin balance for all four tires, as I had been to 4 other shops to see about the noise/thump, with nothing found to be amiss. All 4 tires were out of balance, even after the weights were re-set. They wobbled a bit sideways and even up and down. David, the tech who had been helping me, thought the sidewalls were wearing out. (Tires are 8 years old). He gave me a quote for 4 new tires, various prices, low to high. Just might do this. Bad sidewalls did not occur to me as they had only 40K miles and tread looked OK to me. (David thought otherwise and pointed out some cupping and other slight defects). My extended service contract would not come into play for the tie rod fix....as Les S does not work with that company. So....nothing but good things to say about Les Schwab on 6th Street and David in particular, who was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and an all-around good guy. Give them a try ! read more
