Went to get my SUV checked not too long ago to see if I needed new tires. My Rogue was shaking a little once I hit 65mph. They told me I'm good on the tread so I was worried it was something else that was wrong. Ended up going to Pepboys and they told me my tires were bald and that's why my car is shaking with low tread + alignment. Got tires at Pepboys the same day and it was fixed. I was last there in July 2025 for a brake check. My appointment was at 2:30. I arrived about 10 minutes early and the lot was full. Vehicles were even parked 2 deep on the west end of the lot. So, I park in basically the last quasi parking spot and check in at the counter. I could see my vehicle from the waiting room and noticed it hadn't moved in 20 minutes. Another 10 minutes goes by and no movement. So I go back to the counter and ask how much longer. I see the vehicle finally move into a service bay more than 30 minutes after my appointment time. Another 45 minutes goes by before a technician comes out to discuss their findings. I've had brake checks at other locations without an appointment and it's done in 10 minutes not almost 1.5 hours. I had somewhere to be and hadn't budgeted this much time. I was going to just get my keys back and leave but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I don't know what the problem is at this location but they don't value customers time. They accept too many vehicles and can't handle the volume in a reasonable time frame. Or they need to look at the scheduled volume when taking walk ins / dropping off for the day. I definitely sense apathy and poor communication within the team members. No one is tracking the process- if I wouldn't have gone up and said something, how long would it have taken to get a simple brake check with an appointment? This is a basic thing. Counter staff isn't aware of or doesn't care whether work has begun. Take some ownership! Tell the customer when they arrive that you are running behind or after 30 minutes, go speak to the customer and let them know the status or apologize for the delay. Just saying nothing or being detached from reality is unacceptable and unprofessional. Be proactive instead of doing nothing and having to react to a problem. You will have happier customers. I have gone to this location since it opened with 3 vehicles. I easily have spent $10,000 over the years on tires, brakes, cv boots, and other undercarriage steering components. It just makes me feel unappreciated. But it's maddening no matter how much you spend. The technicians have always been kind and professional. The counter staff is hit and miss. A guy just walk in and said he has an 12:00 appointment. That what I ask for when I called. Only to be that was not needed. It is now 12:40pm and still just left setting here. Our tire store for life! We have always known their service was top notch but they really outdid themselves this weekend on a busy Saturday. We ran over a nail on our way to a Saturday appt and they prioritized fixing our flat in time as we were with kids and rushing to get to our boat rental. Dont buy a battery from these guys. They gave us the wrong battery and claimed that they had changed the design so when my husband put it in my car it exploded with negative polarity. My car is now being towed to Burien Toyota to fix as Les Schwab claims they have no responsibility. Signs all around there saying they value customers and their reputation, but after spending $240 on a battery and who knows at Toyota I will NEVER recommend Les Schwab. BTW my husband has put batteries in our cars many times. Not his fault. Unacceptable!!! read more

Went to get my flat tire fixed, left it at this establishment an hour after opening, got it back at the end of the day. Only to find out that they only put air in the tire and sent me on my way. Not only was my tire flat again, the manager flat out lied saying my tire was looked at. I got there 45 minutes before closing only to see it parked in the same location I parked it in the morning. 15 minutes before closing it was finally moved only to put air in and not be fixed!!!! Let me start by saying Chantel was an extremely personable and helpful front desk staff, she very efficiently checked me in and was most knowledgeable about the products they had on display in the front of the display room. Never have I ever come across such friendly and enjoyable service than I experienced at this les Schwab location. Service technician Don I believe his name was. Informed me of the issues I was having and presented me with multiple options and was extremely helpful and nice as well. While I was waiting for my new set of tires I also witnessed Chantel assist an elderly customer and be extremely patient and attentive to her needs(single flat tire). It is very nice and refreshing to see someone respectful of the elderly. A+ on service and friendliness. Thanks again for fixing my tires and getting me back on the road driving again!!! read more

I took our auto to Les Schwab to in West Seattle to repair a flat tire, and I continue to experience the same lack of genuine interest and concern by some of the staff at this Les Schwab. I understand fully that we are experiencing a labor shortage, but things could still be better at this Les Schwab. I have been a Les Schwab customer for many years, and I hope it is not due to the ownership change, but there is a real lack of concern for ones business. I attempted to make a reservation, but discovered any remaining slots are 2 weeks out. Okay, I can deal with that. I took the car in when they opened at 8:00, and seven other customers were in line. No problem with any of this. It is the attitude that you feel when you are informed it will be two hours, or several hours... if you were not waiting when they open. "Always to the rescue" Les Schwab is always there for me and rescuing me. From tire pressure issues to replacing my wiper blades and tire rotations. They are always efficient, helpful, and very welcoming and nice. I'm a digital nomad so I am happy that they have free WiFi so I can work while waiting for my car to get fixed. Pricing is very competitive and they make warranty coverage easy. Found out about this when my tires blew up and they simply just said its covered. I can't say enough great things about the folks at Les Schwab. Not only do they go above and beyond on timeliness, even when they are swamped, they do everything they can to help customers avoid unnecessary costs. As someone who knows absolutely nothing about tires, they advised me so well when I had to do a full replacement on my former Prius, having formerly lived in California and needed tires better equipped for Washington. They helped me navigate what bells and whistles I needed versus what were superfluous. With my Subaru, I had a nail in my tire, and they did everything they could to salvage the tire, and went so far above the norm in getting me back on the road with it. Scott- I'm replying to your comment about not shaving new tread off of new tires. Umm, that's a complete lie about Les Schwab not shaving tread off of new tires so they match the tread of the other tires on my vehicle. I just took my Audi A4 Quattro to the 4th Ave store a couple of weeks ago due to having a screw in one of my tires. They told me they couldn't fix my tire and if I wanted to purchase a new tire to replace the one with the screw in it. They would have to shave off half of the tread on the new tire. My husband and I was told this at the counter!!! So we opted to replace all 4 tires because it doesn't pencil out why anyone would pay good hard earned money for a new tire just to have Les Schwab shave off half of the tread. So you obviously need to go and talk with your employees because that's what they're doing! read more

I called in for a new battery and was assured they could have it installed in the hour. When I arrived, I had to interrupt some chatting employees to determine where to put my dead car. Once I got to the front desk, they took the keys, estimated roughly an hour with no quote on how much it would cost. Once we were closing in on 45 minutes, I noticed my car hadn't moved. When I checked on it and was told the work would be started within the hour. I drew the line and requested my keys back at around the 1h30m mark. Once I was leaving, a few people rushed up to see if I needed help when the person at the front desk cut them off with "I got this". She gave me back my keys and a snarky "Have a wonderful day!" The ETA I received for this work was off. How far off, I will never know for certain because I drew the line at the 150% mark. Unacceptable to me was that they showed no signs of concern for their own timetable nor for my patronage as a ~20-year customer. Rather than acknowledge the slip, accept responsibility, or so much as to address my concerns, they put me to pasture. I got the cold shoulder and snappy attitude upon reminding them they were off schedule. Nobody deserves to be treated like an unwanted guest, especially after attempting to communicate and showing respect. I did my part and don't want to experience this again from Les Schwab. In response, I offer this solution to other readers who have been treated the same: 1) Purchase your tires elsewhere. Costco has great deals and services. 2) Purchase your battery elsewhere. Costco sells them for half the price, but you have to change it yourself. You can do this with 2 cars and jumper cables (keep your car electrically powered by one car so the system doesn't reset when you pull the dead battery on the other- google the procedure). I did it on 2 cars without issue and I am by no means a mechanic. You can also use a standalone charger instead of a second car, no custom or exotic tools are required for the procedure. Costco will also pay you $15 per battery when you recycle it with them. Some other auto parts stores (like O'Reilly) will also give you give certificates for your batteries. Save time and money by doing the job yourself or taking your business where you stand a better chance of being treated fairly. read more

TLDR: they knew I needed new tires but waited for my warranty to end Between this and the Renton Highlands location, I've rotated and rebalanced my tires at least a dozen times just in the past year. My wheels kept shaking on the highway so I kept bringing it back in. I asked if I should just get new tires and they said no bc it's likely a balance issue. Last week I noticed how bad my tires actually were and made an appointment for new ones. Should be covered in the warranty right? Wrong! They told me I was "just over" my warranty miles and it would be around $600. So basically they saw my bald wheels many times and never once suggested new tires. They'll recommend repairing everything else though... I could have died in a car accident but congrats, you saved some money. I'll take my business elsewhere read more

SHOUT OUT TO RYAN! JK... So I went in to get my grease trap checked, and I was told by the front desk person that I should check in with Ryan, as he was the "in-house expert". So I did. This guy really bent me over and tugged on my dipstick, he said it was low on lube and extremely gunked up. I found that part awkward, but proceeded. I then asked for assistance on my tires. He said that it would help out my mileage if my tires were filled with nitrogen. I thought I was at Les Schwab, not the dentist? So I continued on. I left the store without a good feeling and an ache in my lower back. NOT COOL RYAN! He didn't even wear his mask when he plugged my oil pan! Who's training these people? Nice people, nice location, but put my life and property at risk. Will never go back! During my winter tire changeover they failed to tighten the lug nuts on my passenger side wheel. I reported the growing rotational sound a week later and the manager blamed it on a screw in my driver's side tire (that I pointed out). I told him I did not believe this was the sound and he gave me an "I'm talking to a woman who knows nothing" answer - it can get louder as it bounces off the buildings. A day later, I am barely able to get it to another mechanic who quickly told me their mechanic was too scared to drive it any further. All but one lug nut in the passenger tire were loose. That wheel was very likely to fall off if driven further. Bad enough a tech did this, but the manager not checking it out and resulting in a risk to my life and my property is inexcusable. John specifically was great. Someone slashed tires on ten vehicles on my street in one night, so I imagine they had a lot of repeat business. They are consistently busy here. But they made time to come out and do a service call on my tires. Which were not salvageable. But they still gave me a reasonable turnaround and came out to do it for what seemed like a very reasonable cost. We had a screw in our front tire, my wife called in the afternoon and a guy told her to bring it down before 6pm. We arrived just minutes after 5pm, walked in, told a woman that we were told to come in, she rudely said "were not going to have time to do it today, we have five cars and 45 minutes left before we close". I've been hoping that I wouldn't have to fo another complaint after my tire replacent went faulty. But low and behold the near $2,000 of suspension work I had done at local center, 6 months later abd the sway bar links are broken off and just gone. I'm told it's still safe to drive tho. I'm not sure I can trust their word. Any input on this? Certainly these parts are needed for something within the line of suspension​ for a reason? No? Came here to get my tire patched up. Maybe it's because this location is one of the larger Les Schwabs around, but their service is quick! The man who returned my keys explained what happened to my tire that caused it to go flat, and with that, I was out the door within an hour. Speedy, courteous, great service... They'll put air in your tire, but that's it. Lucky for us, we have a Jeep, and a jack, and a full spare tire on the back. Still, we had to rely on the good folks at the Gravel Yard (the "Dirt Exchange")across the street for help with the lift, and the heftiest of the job. So whatever awesomeness is part of the culture at LesSchwab (we have always been blessed by gold star treatment / up to now) isn't making its way down to the Ballard location. read more

My husband and I live in another area of the city and just happened to be heading to Lincoln park when our tire dropped to 20 psi heading over the w. Sea bridge. We were able to get a quick fill up but within a block our psi dropped 10 psi again! We quickly pulled in (with our baby and dog in tow) an hour before close.
