I have heard so many horror stories of other buyers spending a year looking, but even in the middle of the craziness that was the summer of 2015, once I got my financing squared away, it took me about 3 months to hone in on exactly what I wanted and buy my home. It came down to 11 offers and two pre-inspections (not by me) and yet Alice still knew exactly how to put together the most competitive offer to beat the rest out. And even after the initial offer was accepted, she was relentless about working out the details of the final price (and even made sure the previous owners took away all of the furniture they left behind, which technically they were no longer responsible for after signing). We bought our first home in late 2006, right before the sub-prime crisis. Back then we did not really know much about houses. Alice helped us. She is extremely knowledgeable and taught us many things - making the right trade-offs being the most important. We were changing our minds constantly and she was very patient with us. Through-out she never tried to rushed us to make a decision - and we really appreciate that. We ended up getting a townhouse that is closer, versus newer SFH's farther away - this property weathered the market downturn much better. It was a good 7,8 years before we needed to move again as our family grew. We went to Alice right away. Actually many of our close friends worked with her in-between. It never came to us that we needed to consider a different agent. It was 2015. This time the market was red hot (for seller), and it took us six months. With all the online resources the shopping experience became much different. Everyone sees all the houses right when they came to the market, with photos/videos and many other details about the property. We had to be very diligent about seeing the houses immediately, submitting offers the same day, deciding how much more to bid above the asking price, deciding whether to do pre-inspection (there usually wasn't enough time, so Alice's visual inspections played a huge role) or whether to waive inspection, etc. It was completely crazy. Alice was working extremely hard for us - she was responding to emails post mid-night, showing us properties right away, and trying out different bidding strategies. She went far and wide to try to collect any additional info/insights to give us the little bit of advantages. We finally won the 11th bidding war after losing the first 10. Alice this time felt like a friend, a family. We relied on her to look after our best interest.

The property manager is a lady first name starts with R from Brittany House Apartments. She told me first come first serve so if I don't want apply please tell her. But after I emailed her and requested one more tour in the same day, she immediately replied to me that she will let another person apply and I could still apply but the first one got approved will get this unit and the another will lose the application fee. This was weird to me and made me feel this manager is not trustworthy, because she didn't keep her words. PS. This was a 1b1b rent I found from craigslist. I was told by the manager that it is "as-is" lease takeover which the new tenant will be fully responsible to the unit even if those damages done by the previous tenant. And I did a tour with the manager and then requested another tour after 2 days.(The 2nd request happened in the same day as she told me 1st come 1st serve.) Overall, I feel the manager was trying to make me apply without knowing too much about the unit's status. Be careful and hope this review helps.
