You see this building perched on a cliff from just about any view from Old Town or along the river, and I finally made it up. I'm glad I took the tram, it'd be a considerable climb otherwise. The summer palace itself is well preserved but isn't presented as a palace; rather it's an exhibit space, such as photos on the fall of communism in 1989 running most of 2019.
From the palace, expensive botanic gardens stretch west, connecting to the castle complex. A nice enough park to walk around, but there are several to choose from in this part of the city. Because it connect to the castle complex, it has the same security perimeter with metal detector. read more
