Simple. Customized. Genuine. We really loved working with Sarah - from the very beginning, it was an easy-going process to figure out how everything worked as far as the ceremony. She met with us shortly after our engagement and after we had set a date - walked us through what a few of her ceremonies had "looked like" as well as offer the things that would make it more personal for my then-fiance' and I. What I really enjoyed about Sarah's process was that she helped us figure out what kind of ceremony we wanted (we are both religious, but opted out of getting married through the church) so we decided on a partially religious ceremony that included a welcome, a dedication from our friends and family to support our marriage, a poem read by my cousin, our own written vows, ring exchange, and because we grew up near the sea, she incorporated a special and custom Nautical/Sailor's Knot tying ceremony...which everyone LOVED. For the rehearsal and actual ceremony, she was friendly and helpful with our bridal party and family as well as accommodating when we made a last-minute change. After we got hitched, she took our marriage license and got it to the state within the week and within 2 weeks we got our official returned license! It was a lovely Sunday afternoon. My husband and I were waiting patiently (with eager anticipation) at Café Medici waiting on the arrival of what hoped to be our officiant at our vow renewal. Reading 5 star after 5 star review, I had to meet her - I had to meet Sarah and there she was - this GORGEOUS woman with fire red hair and a heartwarming smile. That smile and her heavenly voice won me over in an instant. Christian and I both felt a calmness because we knew we found our gal - our conductor that would orchestrate our ceremony with ease, poise and grace. She's spunky and down to earth. Her ceremonies are authentic, natural and real - never forced or copied. She delivered our ceremony as if it was straight out of a Nicholas Spark's novel. Sarah was 100% amazing. She officiated our wedding on 1/26/14 and we couldn't have asked for a better wrangler. We had originally planned for an April wedding and then had to change our plans and Sarah was a complete trooper through the whole ordeal. My wife and I aren't particularly religious and as a result didn't have any ties to a particular officiant, so our officiant search was an unstructured and challenging one. We completely lucked out when we found Sarah Reed. We didn't realize how much we didn't know until we met with Sarah for the first time (she was kind enough to meet us at a coffee shop so that we could all get to know each other before moving forward). Given her expertise, Sarah calmly walked us through answers to all the questions we hadn't thought about before (who enters when? who stands where? ...and so on). She made putting together our vows easy; while she was certainly willing to use entirely custom vows, we were more than relieved to have her provide reference material that we used to piece together a custom ceremony from existing content that worked for us. On our wedding day, Sarah was a dream - Memorial Day 2015 was a wet disaster in Austin, and Sarah kept her cool and helped us remember all the little things we'd forgotten while frantically getting ready for the day. One small example was the fact that our strings players were late to arrive due to rain delaying them. Seeing the panicked look on my face when Sarah realized they weren't there five minutes before the ceremony was set to begin, she stepped right in and offered to call them on my behalf so that I could finish getting ready. You can plan for a lot on your wedding day, but when tornadoes and historic, freak flooding occur in Austin and everything changes or goes wrong at the last minute, you'll appreciate more than anything that Sarah is the glue that holding your ceremony together. Sarah did an excellent job officiating our wedding in March. At our initial consultation, she asked some great questions to get to know us as a couple. I felt instantly comfortable with Sarah and liked her style. She was great to work with and made the whole process extremely easy and allowed us to personalize our wedding. In working with us to develop our ceremony, she sent us a lot of info to look over and then actually custom wrote our couple story for our ceremony, which we loved. If I could rater her 10 stars I would! Scott and I struggled to figure out what type of officiant we wanted and what we wanted our ceremony to be. Since it was a second marriage for us both, we wanted to undo the things we were not crazy about the first time around. A friend's sister had used Sarah so I contacted her. We met for coffee and I knew she was the one! She thoughtfully took time to get to know us, suffered through my endless edits and really helped create a ceremony that was really catered to us. Sarah made planning the ceremony so easy and stress-free because she has great material to work with, and was always prompt with correspondence to answer all of our questions. Planning a wedding, even a small one like ours, can be daunting. When Adrian and I first met with Sarah, she immediately put us at ease. She has a calm, friendly personality and she's just cool! My husband and I didn't want a big to-do and Sarah totally delivered. We weren't interested in writing our own vows as it just seemed far too overwhelming for us. Sarah gave us examples of vows and a guideline of how the ceremony should flow. We were able to pick and choose what we wanted for the intro, exchanging of our vows, ring exchange, and closing that were able to make them our own without having to write them from scratch. We had less than 25 guests meet us at the gazebo at Wooldridge Park downtown next to the old court house. The fact that we had reserved the entire park for that afternoon and the city let a group of people spread stinky fertilizer all over the lawn just minutes before combined with the humidity that flattened my hair, it was still a perfect day. Sarah met us there exactly when she said she would and performed our short and sweet ceremony. We had There is a Light That Never Goes Out by The Smiths playing in the background and it was wonderful. What I appreciated most about Sarah is that she never once pressured us into something we didn't want.
