My friend and I wanted to explore Lapa, especially its nightlife, and after walking through the entire street full of restaurants and bars, we decided on Leviano. It was a good choice. The seats were both on the inside and outside, with seats on the inside having a good view of the outside as well. Service was also excellent. As for the food, my friend got the steak sandwich, and she absolutely loved it. I got the 3-cup ceviche, and it was just okay for me. I've never had ceviche that oily before, so that threw me off. We both got caipirinhas as well, and they were so strong that neither of us could stand them and had to send them back. I appreciate the waiter being generous about the drink and bringing me another one instead, but I could barely finish a third of the second drink he brought. I do wish I got another entree at Leviano. I bet the other options they have are great. Overall, it's a solid restaurant in the heart of Lapa, so you can't go wrong with it. read more

A very fun cocktail bar. I really appreciate a well-made cocktail, and theirs are pretty top notch (not the best I've ever had, but definitely among the best I've had in Brazil). Interesting signature cocktails (mostly fruit-based stuff) as well as the classics (like caiparinha's and Negroni's). There's tons of outdoor seating (perfect for smokers), and the night I went, there was an awesome live band (Brazilian rock/hip hop). There's also two other floors to this place. The second floor is just bathrooms and the in-house DJ. And the third is an air-conditioned dance floor. When we were there, we had a Jamaican waiter who spoke English. This large man 6ft 2 with glasses who is the bouncer has anger issues. At first I left the bar without paying for my one drink and they sent me to the front to pay. I paid and this guy took double the amount. I asked him for my money back and he ended up furious and choked me, kicked me and tried to fight. This man is crazy and should get fired. This was such a fun place to go on a Sunday night. Lots of locals and due to the cover charge, most people were just hanging and dancing outside. With the place being open, you can't miss the music that was playing. As the night went on, the street in front became more and more packed. We couldn't believe that this was on a Sunday night! Also outside, you can find drink carts for your caprinhas or any other drink to your liking. The best part was that you were asked if you wanted your drink strong.
