It is supposed to save time but in my view the number of queries they have from people who have lost their 'date due back by' receipt must take up all the time saved. Bring back the stamper!!!On the plus side, when my printer was broken I was able to look something up on the computers upstairs and print out what I needed. 10p for black and white,50p for colour. Expensive but whenit is an emergency ,well worth it.Please use your local library.We don't want to lose them!

There are always lots of nice posters and things on the walls for children. There are lots of local information leaflets and information on the wider community. The staff will help you if you need advice or showing where to find something. Parking is across the road in Netto car park. This can be a busy road to cross so be careful if you have littlies.

Computers are also available here (1 hour free computer time daily if you are a Hertfordshire library member). There is a huge performing arts section here, including music for choirs and orchestras. There are all the other services usually available in a library, internet access, faxing, photocopying, large print books, DVDs, CDs. They have a nice childrens area in the library with a special childrens story time on Thursday afternoon where you can go with your tot no matter how small and join in with stories, songs and rhymes. There is a large car park at the rear of the library but beware to park within the marked bays as it has a parking warden who will give you a ticket!

The facilities include computers, photocopiers and I believe there is a guy who comes in and helps you trace records. They also offer computer lessons, which are free for OAPS. They have a small reference only section, which has quite a few study tables and chair so it's a nice little place to work and you can pop into town for lunch. They also operate a citizen's advice beuro from the premises.

With extra funding from both organisations, around £1.8million will be spent on improving the library. Building work has already begun on the third floor of the library, which means that there is no public access to this floor during the day, so the multifaith room is not available for use. Work begins on the second floor of the library on 17th November, then the whole library will be closed from 25th December 2008 to 20th April 2009, to allow work to be done on the first and ground floors.

If we reserve some books in a few days they will be available. There is a self scaning machine so we can do it if there is a rush on the counter it works neatly. Professional and helpful staff They put the little books author wise. There is wide selection of DVDs and CDs to borrow . There is also internet facility available on first floor for adults and even in kids section. Even photocopier is available in library which is easy to operate of our own. Recently they have a big plan of refurbishmentlasting about 6 months.hope it will be a new BETTER library. Cons There are no public toilets in the library.
