Such a Treasure. My wife and I chose Lexington Social as our 11th Anniversary destination. We targeted Bloomington and Lexington seemed a reasonable jaunt. The atmosphere is intentional and functional. We got a Maine coastal vibe. Staff is professional and understand the heart of Social. Flavors and portions were inspiring. We felt honored to share our special day with Lexington Social. Highly recommended. Worth a drive.

    The paid bill

We sent the following feedback to Lexington Social immediately after our visit on the Square digital receipt: First time at Lexington Social. Like the ambience of the interior; I can see the niche LS is going for. I think it's difficult and I appreciate the efforts. We ordered a bottle of Chardonnay with bread and butter - these were very both very good. I ordered the ribeye well done (which I know generally prohibits me from complaining about the toughness of the steak); however, it was cooked beyond taking the pink out, was like shoe leather and served with a serrated butter knife. I set it aside after trying to eat a few bites. I asked our waiter Mark - a nice young man - to box up the uneaten steak. He asked if I wanted to give the kitchen some feedback on the steak. I declined. Nothing further was said by anyone at LS about my boxing up my uneaten steak. I have a picture if you'd like me to send. We drank our wine; I ate my fries. My wife then told me she was struggling with pepper flakes on her crab filled pasta; she doesn't tolerate hot or spicy food; we reviewed the menu description for her pasta - no mention of pepper flakes - we discussed that there wasn't even a reasonable way to protect her prior to ordering - not even logical she would ask if the crab pasta was spicy.... Our bill was 150; with tip 180; I really really wanted to like LS, but the food experience was just awful. PS. not sure why LS switched out the filet for the ribeye - filets are generally more mainstream than ribeye cuts ... and the sauce served with the ribeye tonight was not even close to the sauce served with the filet prior - I have pictures of the sauce with the filet vs what I received tonight with the ribeye ... Not sure how you process my input; I came prepared for a special dining experience; I can definitely see LS restaurant efforts - but tonight was a huge disappointment for both our entree experiences for the reasons mentioned. Here are my additional Yelp review comments the next day with my additional thoughts ... I'm attaching a few pictures. We had anticipated getting the filet mignon with cafe de paris sauce ... as seen on the LS website; our waiter told us they had switched to a ribeye two weeks earlier, but that the ribeye had the same cafe de paris sauce ... I know that ribeyes are more difficult to cook and serve than filets, lowered my expectations and believed it could be okay with that yummy looking cafe de paris sauce ... The ribeye picture below was well done served with a white sauce not even resembling the cafe de paris sauce previously advertised with the filet on the LS website ... In hindsight, there were multiple failures last night at Lexington Social: in the kitchen by the chef for poor preparation of a well done inedible ribeye; with the waiter who was very aware of the problem with the steak I set aside and was then boxed for the duration of our meal; and also a general management failure for not checking in with our table during the entire visit where my meal was reduced to wine and fries. I give LS a very generous 3 rating for their attempts at being a special destination meal - though LS must step up their game across the board based off n my experience last night.

Always love the food and service at Lexington Social. It's definitely on of the best, if not the best, in the Bloomington Normal area.

Took forever to get our food and the steaks were undercooked. And it was VERY expensive!

Best restaurant in the Bloomington-Normal area. Quality of product and cookery is second to none in the upscale dining category.

We had a reservation so we were seated promptly at a large table in its own little alcove in the back. While the place was busy, we could chat comfortably with one another and felt adequately separate from other tables. The menu has a bit of everything, so everyone should be able to find something they like on it. We started with cocktails, mozzarella sticks, and pretzel bites. The cocktails were good but I could've used less sweetness in mine. The mozzarella sticks and pretzels bites were standard, which means they were great as usual. For a group of 5 of us, an order of each was enough to hold us over until the main meal. I personally got the fish sandwich for my dinner with fries. The fish was great and large enough that it hung over the sides of the bun. My only complaint about the sandwich was the lack of tartar sauce on it. The cook must have just added the smallest dash, as the only sign it was there was a little spot of discoloration on the bun. The fish was good but the sandwich would have been better with more moisture from that tartar. The fries it came with were standard shoe string fries. Nothing special but hit the spot all the same. Everyone else at the table enjoyed their meals as well and we left comfortably full with no leftovers. Overall the meal came at a good pace, the atmosphere was nice, and the prices were reasonably. If in town again we would come back here.

Our waiter was attentive and polite. The gentleman was prompt with filling waters. The restaurant itself is well lit. The tables have enough space to not feel claustrophobic. They are spread out pretty decent. There's some dead space though which feels a little odd. I did feel that the noise level was a little loud.

We ordered drinks and two special appetizers, shrimp in a spicy cream sauce and pork belly bits with diced mango. Both were delicious. For our mains, we chose: Sassy Chicken Thighs and Brown Sugar Brined Pork Chop. The chicken thighs melted in my mouth. We spoke at length with the manager after our dinner and tried to guess the ingredients in the outstanding sauces. The sassy sauce had in addition to the honey and Dijon, some cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, and cumin. Not too spicy, just enough zip to make it interesting. The pork chop was also amazing. Tender and juicy with a cherry balsamic glaze. We would definitely recommend a visit and plan to return the next time we're in town.

The menu was several pages but only one page with food, drinks were the remainder. We got the dipper appetizer and I had the Sassy Chicken Thighs. Both were good and the thigh was boneless. My wife had the loaded potato salad, asparagus, and broccoli which she enjoyed. My son had the Steak Sliders with the potato salad which he really enjoyed. I suppose when the chef can master a menu there's no need for multiple pages. I misjudged and would definitely come back if I'm in town again.
