I did an experiment over the summer. I stopped using gas for air conditioning. I only used 2 window units I did use gas stove maybe 3 times a week for 10minutes each time. The kicker I plugged up an electric stove heater outside under my shed ran constantly. My bill ranged $180 to $200 that to me is extremely high. When neighbor has much bigger house gas air conditioner. $ 85 to $120 a month Now since it's turn cold, I use my own source of heat , one electric heater very little gas to use the stove maybe 3 time a week 10 mins. No air conditioners. Bill is $244 this month.. I'm know rocket science but I know what I'm using. They give you a scale stating you used more power than last month. Our power has gone off 3 times in the last couple of months. This morning it went off in the middle of trying to get ready for work. I called the number on the bill and it said it had been disconnected I called it twice. Then I looked up the number on the website called it and it put me in an unending Loop where I couldn't talk to anybody or report a problem. Absolutely worthless read more

Have been a customer for a year. The quality of the service itself is fine or I would give less stars. The customer service is terrible, and the set up is not designed well. A one week extension is not a "pay arrangement". It is also deplorable that all services are connected such that if the one week extension doesn't help you in a difficult circumstance, you lose everything at once (power, water, and trash pickup). The number of hoops that Lexington utilities makes you jump through just to pay your bill is silly. This is 2017 and they can't seem to figure out how credit and debit cards work. Thanks a lot Cindy. Very disappointed in Lexington Utilities. In my opinion when a small city owns the Utility Service it's to help the community. Most people make less than 30k in this area and we have the highest rates in the area. It would be great if Lexington Utility took this into consideration and made changes to lower rates for their community not increase. I have the highest power bill I have ever had. I down sized loosing 1000 square feet, went from 2 heat pumps to 1 and my bill is higher by almost 100$/month. read more

I am writing to compliment and to make a suggestion. I compliment the staff there as to their politeness as well as they are informative. My suggestion is whenever we lose power our bill should have a prorated credit on it without us having to request it. That's great customer service. Another thing I notice whenever we receive Leip? discount toward our bill our bill is always extra high. How ironic is that? read more
