One note - all members and guests were required to wear suit & tie. They have spare ties if you didn't have one with you. If you had a bag, there was a coat and bag check near the front. Member names I think on the wall behind the concierge, and you had a room at the front if you insisted on talking on a phone.

You can rent the court until 2 am and beyond if you're a wealthy insomniac.

I have been going to Bryn's group classes at least once per week and sometimes twice per week for a…read morelittle more than a year now. I go to the Chelsea location, which is just outside of a school in the schoolyard. Often i bring my 8 year old son on days where Bryn is able to have a second pro there to do a kids group lesson. I love the classes to the point where it has become addictive for me. I go running during the week and i take Bryn's classes on saturdays and sundays to get my weekend workouts in. Bryn starts off group classes with drills for the first 10 minutes where we build up a good sweat while also hitting forehands and backhands rotating through the group, which is great for building muscle memory on your tennis strokes through repetitive motion. Then we spend the rest of the hour playing points, usually in a king/queen of the court format, which can be either laid back or quite competitive, depending on the particular group for that hour. Bryn is a lot of fun to have classes with, whether he's joking around or whether he's in drill instructor mode. A lot of people feel the same as I do, as I see many of the same faces week after week, but there are also always a lot of new people joining. Considering what it costs to access tennis courts in this city, Bryn's classes are a great deal and i get a great workout. Before I started with Bryn last year, i hadn't picked up a racket since my son was born 7 years prior. But in the past year at Bryn's classes I've gotten well back to my earlier form, and i feel in the best shape of my life.

They provide tennis lessons as well. The receptionist are friendly and welcoming. They take your picture. They provide the racket/paddle. There is a lounge and waiting area. They have four gender neutral bathrooms. There is plenty of hand sanitizer and tissues around. They have cubbies and a coat rack, to store your items. There is a television playing tennis matches. I had Nicky and Ben as instructors. They were both crystal clear and concise about how to play the game. They were both encouraging and provided tips to play this game. I used the Mind Body app to sign up for a beginner class though I'm more advanced beginner. There were three of us on the clay court with Ben as our teacher. He gave fantastic instruction and was patient and charming. The tennis center has adult and junior classes, a gift shop with everything you need, friendly staff and friendly pricing. Prices are great for Manhattan and the company has three locations - 59th and York, 89th and York hidden in an apartment building, and another hidden INSIDE Grand Central Station. If you're suffering from insomnia, you can rent a court into the wee hours:-) 10 and 20 packs make their pricing comparable to Queens, and a steal for Manhattan. You pick your classes at your convenience on the app and can cancel without penalty with 24 hours notice. This flexibility is unheard of at other tennis sites in NYC I look forward to my next lessons at one of their sites. Highly recommended for tennis players at all levels.

This spot is pretty popular with beginners because they offer so many clinics and classes here. Only gets docked a point because it could be cleaner?
