Evidently, they broke off from another church due to the adultery of the old pastor. Props to them for breaking away and starting new with a new pastor in a spirit of holiness. Have heard a lot of good sermons. At the same time, I am concerned about several things. Jesus Himself said that the church is full of true born again believers who are walking as Christ directs (the sheep) and make believers (the goats) who attend church but are not in Christ (carnal). One day, the truth will be exposed as to who is in which category. What is going on with the some prayer team leaders and the small group ministry at Foundations? They let a gal who was booted off of the prayer team in her old church in Berthoud lead the Wednesday prayer group and is quite controlling. People go to her group and often never return. I heard through the grapevine that the guy who started the prayer team says she has a demon. He is prone to saying people he doesn't like have a demon (a Jezebel spirit, a Leviathon spirit). Is this spiritual abuse? Competition, lust for power and slander prevails while Jesus weeps. Then there is M, an elderly lady on the prayer team who criticizes the pastor and the church in the way they do things. Why is she allowed on the prayer team. Small Group Leadership: I listened to the guy who coaches people who want to lead a small group. The impression several of us get is that if you want to lead a group, you cannot be too honest about what the Bible says if someone asks a question. We love everyone here, including gays and trans. A gay married couple wanted to be in a leadership position and were disappointed when told no. Pastor speaks plainly about homosexuality being a sin, but did anyone feel okay with telling them in love and gentleness in the small group? Did they try to help them out of this sinful lifestyle? I call this "Christianity Light" where no one can be too honest in the group about the Word because someone might be offended. Is Jesus weeping? Is He a fan of all of this?

In my experience the leadership has demonstrated uncommonly raw honesty, authentic vulnerability and unwavering commitment to reach the lost and hurting souls (Christian and non-Christian alike) in Northern Colorado. You will find they have a ministry that doesn't pull punches and tells the truth about sexual bondage, internet pornography, marital struggles, addiction, financial health, sharing the good news with your neighbors, and so much more. In today's cultural climate it is very encouraging to get reinforced here. My kids are grown, but I can tell they have a pretty amazing children's ministry. The worship band frequently drives me to tears. There are lots of special events and opportunities to get involved and connected in small groups.

Pastor Perdew is a man of God who preaches the Word of God without fear or favor! He takes his commission as the "watchman on the wall" and the "shepherd over God's flock" seriously. He married me and my wife in 2009, dedicated all 4 of my children to God, and now 2 of them have received the Holy Ghost, and we're baptized in Jesus' Name (Acts 2:38)! If you want a man of God, not a hireling, who is watching for your soul (Hebrews 13:17), then you need to come visit! If you want to hear unfiltered TRUTH, then come visit! The TRUTH shall make you free! There are those who have believe that Bible preaching is "hate", but that just means that the devil has done a good job blinding the minds of humanity from seeing the truth of God's word! Is it hate to tell someone the truth, or is it hate to lie to someone? The Apostle Paul said in Galatians 4:16, "Have I become your enemy because I told you the truth?" Pastor Perdew is a man of God who preaches the Word of God, without fear or favor. That's a real man of God, and that's God's love in action! He preaches like Jesus did, and He didn't pull any punches with the religious people of His day either! Go read Matt 23! That's not hate, that's love. I sat next to one of the reviewers here and heard the same message. Not one time did he encourage us to hate anybody! He admonished us, according to the word of God to hate evil and false doctrine! My wife is the one who was accused of asking her to leave. That is a lie! She kindly told the woman that she could leave if she wanted to, but not to interrupt the preacher while he was preaching the Word of God! The Bible said the day would come when humanity would not be able to "endure sound doctrine" (2 Tim 4:3), and that day is now! Truth is under attack, and a return to God and the Word of God is the ONLY answer! The sign doesn't tell us who to vote for, nor does it endorse political figures...but if ever a country and a man needed prayer, America and President Trump need our prayers! By the way...separation of church and state is not even in the constitution. There's only ONE Lord, ONE faith, and ONE Baptism, ONE God...Ephesians 4:5-6...No trinity! Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38...the Biblical plan of salvation! Like Paul said, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth! If this were a cult, we wouldn't be inviting all to come and visit, nor would we hide what we believe...cults also don't allow people to get out, and we don't make anyone stay. Half of the way thru the Sunday night service(4 hour service, I was overcome with sadness with the hatred of others(different from them) that came out of the pastors mouth. He encouraged the congregation to hate. Even if you think you are hating the sinners of the world, you are hating the child of God. He seemed to hate everyone who wasnt a member of the church. Every other religion is wrong but His. i finally told him that he was not telling the truth. I was asked to leave by the woman who was supposed to be there to help me. Truly breaks my heart. I will continue to pray for him and the church.

Being with the family, I didn't see much of the actual church except for the main entrance area, crying room, and the alter. Being new, I kindly asked a suited gentlemen that may have had a name tag on (I'm a bit unsure) where the kid friendly room was and we were then escorted by a young parishioner. How accommodating. The room is seemingly well isolated from the rest of the church which can be a good thing when your kids can get a little crazy. Not a huge room but definitely works. I'd recommend getting there early to secure a spot. It was packed when we got there right on the dot. As for the lobby area, they have a manned front desk/information area which is awesome. A hall is attached to main entrance and easily located. I also loved the religious goods store that was open during mass. One of the other churches I went to had their store closed during mass to prevent people from spending "mass time" browsing. I, on the other hand, loved it because the baby was cranky so I carried her as I looked through their goodies. Their bathrooms are descent but I assume the ladies restroom can get a little crowded after mass or during events. The staff that I encountered were very nice and the decor isn't too dated but then again I'm not one to judge a church by their cosmetic appearance. I plan to come back this coming Sunday for Easter and get more acquainted with St. John.

I visited here for 5 p.m. Mass on the first week of Advent and the trees outside were all perfect and lit up for Christmas. When I'm visiting Longmont I prefer this Catholic church to another Catholic church I've been to (I think it's Light of Christ - it was in the weird late 60s round buildings on Hover) since that one was way too conservative. The officiant was from Uganda and was pretty good; however, the homily was pretty forgettable. (Also, unlike a few foreign-born priests I've had elsewhere he was totally understandable.) The Mass was a quick one - about 52 minutes. (So it's a good one to go to if you don't want to miss a football game.)
