The email threatened to smear our names on the internet, "report us" to our employers, offered to refund us $50 if we took the review down, and that if we did not take down the review: "risk your wedding day being more traumatic than intended to be..." No professional, no business owner, no one truly in the wedding industry would threaten a customer or client like that, even over a bad review. The one reason I am removing some stars is because we had asked her to act in a "wedding planner" role to help the vendors get everything prepared as we wanted in the day of the event. We made a deposit to have Anastasia Litz' assistant officiate our ceremony and Anastasia emailed us assuring us that her assistant was free that day and would be able to come. SHE NEVER SHOWED UP! We then spent weeks trying to get in touch with Anastasia and she never returned our calls. She never gave an explanation or even apologized for what happened. My best friend was getting married and I was looking around online for someone to act as both an officiant and coordinator. I really needed someone to help guide us through the big days preparation, since neither of us knew the first thing about organizing a wedding and all it entailed. If you are looking for a reliable officiant, look away and spare yourself the unnecessary stress. I booked Stacy as an officiant months ahead of our wedding. Everything worked fine until our rehearsal date, which I had informed Stacy months ahead. Stacy confirmed a few days before the rehearsal that she will be there. However, on the rehearsal date, 12 people all showed up on time ready to iron out the kinks, Stacy was no where to be found. I called Stacy and she sounded surprised to get a call from me, but then she said she would be there in 5 minutes. Of course, 30 some minutes later, still no Stacy in sight and I couldn't get hold of her when I tried calling again. I had to switch up my plan and had the coordinator try to walk us through the basics. After all was done, Stacy's assistant called and said she had a fender bender. So the next day, we tried to contact Stacy again to confirm if she will be able to make it on our wedding date. After numerous calls, we finally got hold of the assistant and she confirmed that Stacy is in the office and would return our call when she got off the other line. So we pushed off other items on our plan and waited for her to call back. Hours later, still nothing. At that point we finally decided that we shouldn't risk our big day with someone unprofessional and unreliable. So we secured a different officiant to replace Stacy. When we contacted Stacy requesting refund for her failure to perform, she accused us of canceling and refused to refund. We have made every attempt to contact her prior to canceling her service. So long story short, there are a lot of good choices out there, but Stacy is not one of them! read more

WARNING Stacy DID NOT COME to our Wedding, and that after two weeks of not answering any email or returning phone calls. When we met Stacy we thought she was reasonably professional. However after we sent the deposit and signed the contract, she magically disappeared! The day before the wedding we decided to find another person to marry us. Thankfully we were able to find another great one. Stacy got back to us within minutes though when we emailed her to cancel and get refunded th morning of the wedding. Of course she refused and claimed that we were too demanded as an excuse for not responding... Sorry for wanting to get in touch the week before the wedding... In conclusion, she is unresponsive, unprofessional, but most of all she will not show up to your wedding. There is enough stress during your big day, don't take that risk. BRIDES BEWARE! On the day of my wedding, Lisa, the head officiant for Liberty Weddings, DID NOT SHOW UP. In addition, neither she nor owner Stacy, made any attempt to notify us that Lisa was unable to officiate our wedding, even after Lisa confirmed less than a week prior with me via email. I called both Lisa and Stacy relentlessly minutes before our ceremony and neither one answered any phone call that I placed. Furthermore, no attempt was made to find a replacement officiant by Liberty Weddings. We were later told that Lisa was unable to officiate due to an emergency on the day, however Stacy was very nonchalant in that she was out of town and unable to answer her office phone. If you own an event-oriented company you are ALWAYS on call, and if you make a promise to make "every effort" to find a backup in your contract, then you are obligated to try. We had even specifically asked about backups and were assured that there were 2 backups available in the event that anything should happen. After reading several reviews on other platforms, it appears that we are not the only couple that has been victim to Liberty Weddings not showing up on their wedding day. Simply Put: You can hire a company that is going to show up and do their job on your big day, or you can hire a company that is going to go above and beyond for you in the event that something MAY go wrong. LIBERTY WEDDINGS IS NEITHER OF THESE! You literally cannot get married without an officiant, so think long and hard about who you hire. No one showed up for my daughter's wedding this past Sunday. Lisa Gray was to be the officiant through Liberty Wedding. Lisa met with my daughter and her fiancé at their house and assured them that she even had a backup plan if an emergency came up. Her son who is also licensed would replace her. My husband and I were looking for an inexpensive non-religious officiant and we found Stacy (with Liberty Weddings) on Thumbtack.com. We met with her and she seemed nice. A little disorganized, but we tried not to judge her on that. After hiring her, I came across some bad ratings from a previous customer. The person said she never showed up for their wedding and never returned their calls. When I called Stacy to ask her about the review (and give her the benefit of the doubt), she said that customer never registered on-line and therefore it never got into their calendar. Ok, I was willing to accept this as an answer. But shortly after that, Stacy stopped responding to our emails and phone calls. Little did I know, there was more than just one bad review about her - there are tons! Days before the wedding, we called her repeatedly and she never responded. The day before the wedding, we decided to find a new officiant. And we were fortunate to find someone. However, when we sent an email that morning to tell Stacy we officially were firing her and requesting the deposit be refunded, she finally responded to us. She said she wasn't showing up because we had been condescending to her and we "low-balled" her on the price. If she wasn't willing to negotiate price, then she shouldn't have posted on her website "prices negotiable"! She said she told her co-worker to go in her place and therefore, the contract wasn't broken - she was refusing to refund us. UNBELIEVABLE!! We met with Stacy in late October where everything was fine. She sent us samples of simple ceremonies which were great, but I wanted to include a hand fasting ceremony which didn't seem to be an issue. We sent her the deposit and everything seemed great. I contacted her in February to see if she had a sample of the hand fasting ceremony (we had no contact since our meeting in October) to which she didn't reply. So I contacted her in March thinking she could be busy or forgot as people do. I still hadn't heard anything from her so I tried once more in May. Now it's getting closer to the wedding, and I'm getting nervous. I check out the reviews on Yelp, and I should have read them sooner. We finally reached Stacy over Facebook in the beginning of June to which she explained that she had unexpectedly moved and that she gave the company to another officiant. Her unexpected move was in December... The new officiant contacted us right after we had messaged her which was great but a bit late. I had contacted the company e-mail as well as hers in every e-mail that I sent. Her as well as the company's lack of communication is unacceptable. It is now 13 weeks from my wedding where I was lucky enough to find another officiant. If you are still looking I highly suggest "Marry Me Philadelphia". Even though a $150 deposit (half of the fee) had been paid and Lisa Gray, officiant from Liberty Weddings, had met with my son and his fiancee, AND a confirming phone call was made one week prior, Lisa was a no show at my son's wedding last week. Neither she nor anyone from Liberty Weddings returned phone calls the day of the wedding. Phone calls placed to them in the days after the wedding have gone unanswered. We spent hours the morning after the "reception day" trying to find a judge or mayor before whom they could be legally married. I set up my contract with Liberty Weddings and sent in my deposit back in February 2014 to officiate at my wedding on October 18, 2014. At the time, Anastasia, the owner, was very easy to get a hold of. A few months before my wedding, I tried several times to contact Anastasia. Finally after weeks of trying to get ahold of her, I received a phone call from Lisa Gray, the officiant Anastasia assigned to my wedding. In August, after chatting with her for a weeks discussing the details of my ceremony, Lisa emailed me to inform me she had left Liberty Weddings to start a new business. I never was contacted by the owner to tell me her new plan. After Lisa said she would still officiate my wedding since we had already discussed details, I contacted Anastasia to inform her I would no longer be using her business and it was quite unprofessional she didn't not contact me herself to tell me this change. Unlike the poor girl who wrote a review before me, Lisa did show up and performed my wedding ceremony. However, 2 weeks after the fact my husband went to pick up our marriage license at City Hall only to discover Lisa had not sent in her signed paper to have it done. For 2 weeks, I went back and forth with her, with Lisa promising me multiple times she was going to city hall that day to complete the process. I have been married for a month now and still no marriage license, and now she has stopped returning my calls and emails.
