This is based on lack of professionalism. And a business that has coaches who are not being a multi-faceted role models and be involved. Coaches not not fully engaged in the indivuals training. I understand that coaches may be overwhelmed with multiple responsibilties training many athletes, managing schedules , or handling commitments. But this place needs improvement with communication, coaches need to be actively involved (NOT JUST PRESENT). Since January this year I referred one of dear friends to this place and pay for the invidiual sessions. Only to be disappointed that the trainers dont create training plans and understand feedback or show motivation and support. We validate by improvement and monitor progress because this is needed as this is a skill development by encouragment and positivity. In this case Coaches need to understand everyones perspectives and be more involved. (NOT ALWAYS ON THE PHONES) I am extremely disappointed and hope this business can be more involved with their customers. I have launched an investigation and a follow-up.

I have been a hobbyist of various martial arts for years. Since day 1, the environment at Rounders was a perfect fit. The people are friendly and helpful. The hours and the selection of martial arts classes are excellent. Every last coach knows their stuff, and they teach both kids and adults classes with professionalism and care. I am also always grateful that the black belts, pro fighters, and other experienced trainees are so helpful during class. Not only do you have knowledgable coaches, but your peers support you here too. I have seen multiple martial arts gyms over the years, especially in Orange County, and while all have nice things to say about them, Rounders just hits every single mark. It's a nice and spacious facility with a great setup, but the people are what make it stand out. My only complaint is that I wish I had started here sooner.

It's an hour long with drills with sparring, open to all skill levels. They also run beginner and intermediate classes in the evening. the beginner class is just drills (no sparring), while the intermediate one is basically the same as the morning session. When I first joined, I had zero boxing experience and it was pretty intimidating. Luckily, Coaches Sean and George worked with me at my pace until I got comfortable. The other students and sparring partners were supportive. They went easy on me during those first few months. Over time, I picked up new techniques from drills and started applying them in sparring. Eventually, it realized that boxing is a sport just like basketball or soccer. It's about learning skills, practice, and execute.

But honestly, my experience was very bad. I came on a Saturday and arrived about 20 minutes early. When I told him I had never trained in martial arts or kickboxing before, instead of giving me basic guidance, he seemed annoyed that I didn't know anything. Then he told me to warm up by myself. When I came back, there was only one other student there, and that person had only been training for about a month. But the person who actually showed me what to do was that student, not Nam Phan. During training, Nam Phan briefly demonstrated a few moves and then told me to practice with the other student as if I had already been training for a long time. I was a complete beginner, so it was honestly very difficult to keep up. Throughout the entire session, he only corrected me once, but kept yelling loudly at me whenever I made mistakes. I felt extremely uncomfortable but still tried to continue training. Since it was my first class, I also didn't know what I needed to prepare. Before I came, he specifically told me I didn't need to bring anything. But when training started, he suddenly asked if I had boxing gloves. When I said no, he threw the gloves he was holding onto the ground aggressively and asked in an irritated tone why I didn't prepare anything. Throughout the whole session, the way he spoke and his attitude made me feel like I was being scolded for not knowing anything instead of being guided as a beginner. He spoke Vietnamese very quietly and unclearly, so many times I couldn't even understand what he was saying. That training session made me feel extremely bad and uncomfortable. I came in wanting to try and learn a new sport, but instead I only felt pressure and negativity from beginning to end.
