Well, I was actually able to visit two while in Spain. YOLO. Came in the Fabrica Maravillas after spotting it on Yelp - since it was a quick (relatively) walk from our hotel. I was on a mission to connect with my good bud - Mr. Yelp Madrid, Lolo R - and this was where we decided to meet up to have a beer and catch up. Super friendly bartender that explained each beer for us and recommended the one I went with - The Dark Ale. It was fantastic. Sweet notes, perfectly carbonated and not too heavy. Their glasses are in 3 sizes - small, medium, large. The Medium is a good size as it is. 2 mediums and a small was only 10€. I also got a bottle that was €4 (50cl). It was hoppy and went PERFECT with a fried seafood plate I had it with when I got back home. Small tap room - as are all places in Spain, but they are brewing up some good stuff! Check them out! Side note - Shout out to the guy in there that was also from Fort Lauderdale and overheard me talking and immediately hollered out "FUNKY BUDDHA!" haha super nice guy, hope you find this review dude. The coffee stout was nice and strong (10.3%). A bit one-note, but when that note is great coffee, I'm not going to complain. Food was equally enjoyable, if not more so. Nachos were baked - warm and crispy and hearty, with great mix of chicken, guac, tomatoes and red onion - nothing like the blob of crap you often get back in the states. The Pollo negro à la stout was incredibly flavorful, with a dark beer sauce to pour over it. Our server, Alec, was incredibly friendly. My wife enjoyed exercising her Spanish and talking beer with him, and he helped us pick some bottles to go. He seemed legit pleased when we told him the place reminded us of the kind of cool, indie spot we love back home in Brooklyn (high praise indeed from Brooklyners)!

The guy working there was extremely helpful in helping us choose some local IPA's. They also carry a lot of our favorite beers from Amsterdam, so I was super excited about that. They sell beer from Louisville Kentucky's Against the Grain Brewing that I can't even get where I live! All those Spaniards out there need to check that brewery out! One suggestion: Start stocking Crew Republic beer from Germany. It's fantastic!

But don't worry, they have plenty of cheaper deliciousness for those not looking to break the bank. Highly recommend!

They sat us in the back with no explanation. We ordered drinks, then a girl ran up to our table to take payment, saying that this was what they do there, settle each item at a time. The beer was good, they should have closed for the private party instead of subjecting us to that awkward and uncomfortable vibe. Very lame.

Interesting, a Scottish beer in Spain. I was used to seeing typical beers or those associated with Spanish culture. I walked inside and immediately noticed the great organized shelving and the colorful labels. They had beers from all over the world. There was Coopers from Australia, Left Hand Brewery from Colorado (go CO!), Flying Dog from the East Coast, great bitter beer from England, a vast collection of Belgian ales, local beers and ciders. The staff is very helpful and passionate about beer. They will gladly answer your questions. They have, in my opinion, great prices for the beers too. I don't know what people regularly pay for beer, but considering these are all imports, I was impressed with the prices. I'm looking forward to my next beer when I can show up with a vast worldwide collection of great beer.
