The Liechtensteinhaus is a mountaintop restaurant that has the distinction....well of being on a mountaintop in the Wiener Alpen (Viennese Alps). If you're there during skiing season, you can guarantee it being crowded. In the warmer months you eat here for the view. The food isn't bad, but it's def not a food destination spot. And when you take the cable car up the mountain and the fog obscures any view, the meal becomes a little bit disappointing. I liked my Fritatten soup good enough but the Wienerschnitzel was only average at best. It had a heaviness to the coating which is not how I like a fresh and well-prepared schnitzel to be. Everyone else liked their food okay and service was both friendly and efficient ... but since there was no view on the day we were there, we missed the best part of the Liechtensteinhaus....except for the affectionate dog! read more
