It was showing the recovery mode screen at times, other times it was stuck in a loop repeating Apple logo, horizontal flicker, dark. I was very worried about what I may have lost, and I couldn't imagine waiting to get home to try to get it fixed, because phones have become such a necessary part of air travel. I had done some googling on the hostel's computer and it looked potentially hopeless but I took my phone to iFixIt just in case, because of the great reviews they had. Within a few minutes of me getting to the store, the attendant opened the phone and showed me my Home Screen again! What a wonderful sight! He said that he had seen this situation before and it was due to moisture getting in through that horizontal opening at the top of the screen (in this case probably from putting phone inside bra on a very hot excursion), and he could fix it by swapping out a part. I was shocked, as none of my googling had even mentioned this as a possibility. He gave me the option of letting him try to restore the part and preserve facial recognition, which would take a few hours. I said sure, and walked around for a while. As it happened, this was not possible, but I got my working phone back! I couldn't have been more surprised or pleased. I highly recommend this store! Thank you, iFixIt!

Previamente, el soporte de Apple ya había realizado pruebas y verificado con vídeos que la calidad era claramente deficiente. Incluso comparé en las mismas condiciones con un iPhone 15 Pro, donde la diferencia era más que evidente. A pesar de toda esta información, en tienda se limitaron a insinuar que podía ser un problema de configuración, algo que ya había descartado tras seguir todas las indicaciones del propio soporte. La única "solución" que me ofrecieron fue restablecer el dispositivo de fábrica, algo que perfectamente podría haber hecho desde casa sin necesidad de desplazarme. Me fui sin ninguna solución, con el mismo problema y con la sensación de que no se quiso analizar el caso en profundidad. El dispositivo tiene solo tres meses y, aun así, se descarta cualquier reparación porque "las pruebas salen bien", ignorando completamente la evidencia aportada.
