Had a dual membership for 4 years. Really enjoyed the gym overall. Many members could be a little rude, but easily ignored. Was harassed by a member who seemed to want to instigate some type of altercation, seemed just like a miserable person who shouted a few profanities toward me, so I thought I did the right thing and reported to management. Management's response was just try to avoid this person. I felt he should have been asked to leave, I decided call corporate and they assured me I would get a call from management to discuss. Lifetime Fitness is all about the money, not about the client! Over the past few years, the gym has become increasingly money driven. Rates have gone up to nearly $200 a month and services continue to decline. Group classes that are included in your membership are getting cut back and being replaced with classes you must pay extra for. If this isn't bad enough, instead of holding the pay extra classes in designated rooms or out of the way areas, they hold them in high traffic areas and block other members from accessing. The restrooms/locker rooms are often not tidy and unstocked. They rent out the parking lot for special events to a nearby golf course, leaving little or no parking for gym members. I could go-on-and-on, but you probably get the point. With that said... the diminishing services and the increased cost are one thing. The "arrogant and indifferent" attitude of the club management is another. If you ever ask about parking or if are they going to add classes back or even give a mere suggestion... you will get nowhere... other than to be ignored, treated with indifference, or with an arrogant attitude. Well... this is one member that won't be treated that way anymore! After 10 years of being a member and spending over $20,000 in dues, I had enough and cancelled my membership! read more

The entire gym is taken up by a barely used basketball court. They should fire whoever's idea that was. Gym opens before the cafe so if you like to work out in the morning you don't get to take advantage of the cafe that you're paying for. There is no designated stretching area, only room for about 2 mats on the same floor as the machines. More often than not the treadmills are out of order. The classes are scheduled for rich people who don't have jobs because every class is between the hours of 9-5. Barely any yoga. Pilates you have to pay extra for. No sense of community there aside from the regulars who take phone calls via AirPods or chat with other regulars about protein powder while you're waiting to use a machine because there's only one of each because again, the entire gym is taken up by a basketball court. The spa services are OUTRAGEOUSLY priced. The women's locker room is lacking. For $180-$250/mo per membership you'd think spa services would be discounted for members, or that you'd have access 24/7. This athletic club is clearly the best in the area. If you've got the bank account, then go here. From the huge number of pieces of equipment (never have to wait to get on) to the large resort style pool and an amazing steam room, you can't go wrong with this club. Too many amenities to mention them all but here are some: 6 basketball nets, indoor heated lap pool, resort outdoor pool, cafe, 4 squash courts, steam room, dry sauna, hot tubs, regular and executive locker rooms, free wifi, etc. etc. etc. The cost is around $125/month up to over $300 month for the executive package where they will wash your car while you work out plus some other great perks. If you're just looking to workout only, then spend the $30/month and go elsewhere, however if you want a place where you can get an amazing workout plus be in luxury and never want to leave, then this is your nirvana. They do have a posted policy against bringing guns on the property which I believe may be against Florida law is the only downside I have experienced so far. read more

Management stole an entire makeup bag of cosmetics out of my locker, stating that they assumed I was leaving town. While I was still paying for both the locker AND the membership!! That's the Boca Raton location. When I got mad, they just tried to downplay the whole situation and my anger as well! They ended up giving me about $30 for the whole container and the contents-which were designer brands, like: La Mer, LaPraire, Sisley, Vie Terry, The management team is basically the same, yet 4 years later, only 1 employee and 2 self employed trainers out of a set of probably 25 people even spoke hello! There are much cheaper places and neutral people without uppity attitudes, to belong to. I'll be quitting as soon as my sessions expire. I just cancelled my Boca Raton Lifetime Fitness membership...oh, and when I told the manager "Erick," his response was "Okay, good, I was just cancelling it." Let me explain...I haven't been a member for very long, about six months, and I joined for the sole purpose of playing squash. When I joined, they had four squash courts (no pro on site), and about 2 months ago, they closed two of the courts for other activities. About a month ago a local kids' camp was on site in the afternoons, sometimes occupying a couple of courts. Today, they were occupying all of the courts! I spoke with the manager, and he had a problem answering my questions, which were: What's the protocol if a member wants to use the squash courts when the summer camp is here? His answer was "they've reserved the courts." This was a pretty strange answer (I thought), and I asked if the summer camp "contract" took precedence over paying members? To which he replied "They're all members." Again, strange. He wouldn't answer any of my questions, and so I got frustrated and let the F-bomb escape my lips...so I got the standard "If your'e going to use that language...," and that made it slip again. Yes, I became even more agitated because he wouldn't engage in a conversation, you know, like you would if you were talking with another human, and I made a comment to that extent. When it was obvious that I wasn't going to get anywhere with this robot, I'd had enough, and didn't like the way I was being treated, and decided to get my things from the locker room, and cancel my membership. And now you know. ATTENTION corporate America...try communicating with your members (or anyone paying for your service/product) as if you were talking with another human, not like a computerized robot that doesn't answer questions, but just shoots out pre-programmed responses. The lowest quality lifetime I've ever been too and somehow they justify it being a top tier (membership upgrade to attend). Everything is cramped together, gym equipment is rusty and difficult to change weight level. There is practical no where to do mat exercises unless you want to use the hallway. I was here through the remodeling. My family love be it, my kids never want to leave! I have known management since 2004. This manager took this location to one of the highest levels. This is one of the top gyms in South Florida. Having been to many gyms in the country, it would be a safe bet that Life Time's are the best. They're always clean, which is super important to me. I love the wide assortment of machines. It doesn't get as packed as some of the other local gyms. They think of everything here, from the little bags for your swimsuits to all the shower essentials. There's always towels. I love the steam room, sauna, and hot tub, after an intense workout, which are always clean. 5 stars read more

Lifetime Fitness/Athletic is a mixed bag of reactions. I'll do my best to break it down for you. Best for: Families (Good family rate) Not best for: Singles or more serious gym goers (So many services that you won't be using, such as child care). Compared to other Diamond level clubs this club does not quite fit in. This club should be a Platinum level club in all honesty. A lot of people come to the Boca Life Time thinking, "whoaaaa, this is my first diamond club experience!!! This is going to be maravilloso, coñooo!!!" Alas, they walk in and they're sorely disappointed. This club closes much earlier than almost every single club in the Lifetime portfolio. 10pm on the weekdays and an amazingly early 7pm on the weekends! If you compare this Lifetime with just the other gyms in the area, this one has much more free equipment and less people. The outdoor pool is nice when it isn't mobbed by all the Boca Betties and Yamato Yanisleidys. I still give this place three stars because it is typically cleaner than the LA Fitness farther down Yamato. read more

Lifetime is the Bentley of the fitness centers. Now you can settle for a cheaper place like LA fitness or orange theory and get the same results but the exclusive nature and the vast facilities available here are not available at other places. I primarily rejoined this facility after a 10 year gap to start playing squash again as this is the only place in Boca which has proper squash courts and even do a league along with occasional tournaments. They have all sorts of other activities along with squash plus they have tons of different classes for fitness freaks and a massage center along with a fitness restaurant that caters to everyone. All the employees are super helpful and want to always make sure that you are satisfied and nothing short of perfection is what they represent. Now the membership is on the expensive side but all the extras that you get makes up for it. read more

I'm giving this lifetime a very deserved one star. I'm kind a gym connoisseur, I usually hold gym memberships at about four gyms at one time. As of right now, I hold yearly memberships at LA fitness (nationally), charter fitness, USA gym (IL), quads gym Chicago, busy body west and busy body east. I'm a proud gym snob and when a proud gym snob pays the most premium price of all Lifetime memberships, I will naturally expect a little more. Making it simple: 1) terrible gym flow. Half of the weight lifting stuff is on the 2nd floor half is on the third. Hello ANNOYING! There are 4 platform squat racks hidden in the CrossFit room on the 2nd floor and 2 on the third 2) cardio- the 2 curved treadmills are also hidden from the club in the cross-shit room. There is a dismal display of cardio equipment in the 2nd floor weight area. Wouldn't it make sense to have all the cardio together and all the weight training together? By the time you're done running up and down you'll be too annoyed to get in a real workout. 3) pool- absolutely no water slides. Like WTF? In Florida everyone has a pool, but not everyone has a slide. Perhaps it's smarter to add more because people are paying more? 4) child care. In every other Lifetime, childcare is fantastic. There is so much for children to do, tunnels, basketball, yoga, Spanish, iPads, the works. There isn't shit here. The injury rate is 90% among people who do CrossFit why would this gym promote unsafe training conditions over the happiness of our children? As a parent, if your child hates going to the gym, guess who also won't be going to the gym? The only pros here are the extended childcare, the curved treadmill and the Glute/ham machine. Steer clear of this place if you don't need flexible childcare. Also I wrote to member services and a lady named Kelly from MN, who works at home, was a bitch to talk to and always condescending, you will get nowhere with these people. If another gym was able to offer more mid-day childcare I'd drop this pretentious shithole faster than Snoop could drop it like it's hot. read more

We were members at Lifetime for about five years. Over the years, the membership experience has just been ok, with the club being consistently dirty, and our frequent comments about improving the yoga experience not being implemented. This is through no fault of the yoga instructors - who seem to be in the same struggle we are. We frankly got tired of making comments with no action, and gave up. The reason for the one star rating is the experience trying to cancel the membership. On 8/31/16 I called Lifetime to cancel, and was told that cancelling a membership can only be done in person or with a certified letter! Really?! In 2016, I need to drive to a club no one in my family has been to in 3 months to cancel? That's bad enough for a one star rating but actually not the worst part. When I arrived to cancel, management wanted to hear all about my experience, which I mostly declined to discuss, saying "you weren't much interested in my comments when we were members, so I'm not going to cover it now". They stated "well, you have another 30 days to try the facility, so if you change your mind, please let us know." At that point, I thought, wow this might actually be a gracious act - offering another 30 days. I signed a box on their electronic reader and was on my way, thinking that I was done with this inconvenience. On 9/2/16, I was charged the full $291.00 monthly fee, two days AFTER I cancelled my membership. The 30 days to "try" the facility was apparently time they were charging me!!! Unacceptable!!! If you want an experience where you'll pay a lot, work out in a dirty facility, have your comments be ignored, and get ripped off on the way out after five years of paying, then you'll fit right in here at Lifetime. read more

My wife and I decided to go and check out the gym the day after thanksgiving and they had a special promotion where you would only pay $50 initiation fee. Before signing up we asked the club manager Daniel if this promotion was valid in the next 2 weeks since we are traveling to New York for 2 weeks and we don't want to start just yet. However he said that the promotion was only valid for today so we decided to sign up. After we came back from our holiday I visited their website and I noticed that they still had the promotion up and running which was very disappointing. We just paid for 2 weeks of not being able to use the facility and also we were out of the 14 days money back guarantee. The gym and weight section machines are extremely old and rusty and the mirror in that section starts from the middle of wall so if you are sitting on a bench and doing bicep curls you wouldn't be able to look at yourself in the mirror to ensure that you are doing your exercise correctly which is disappointing. read more

Lifetime is like no other gym I've ever been to...it actually makes working out fun. The facility is huge and airy with no lingering odors or weird smells. It's never overcrowded and the machines are clean and top quality. The locker rooms are amazing too, great steam showers and everything else you need to look and feel your best after a workout. There is also a huge resort style pool, a boutique, cafe, spa, and salon...it's the only gym I've ever went to and ended up spending the entire day at. My favorite thing about Lifetime though are the people who work there. My trainer (Tori P) is obviously passionate about her job and has helped me develop a good workout routine to reach my fitness goals. She's encouraging and motivating and is even helping me train for my first 1/2 marathon! read more

I used to belong to Equinox before moving to Boca so I am used to paying a lot ofor a high end gtym. While LifeTime has more extensive facilities it is dirty and not well maintained. I am unlikely to renew when my contract is up. There is a lot of deferred maintenance.. A number of the locks in the locker room don't work. The same is true of the heart monitors on the cardio equipment. The locker rooms and showers are dirty. Oftentimes the shampoo and soap containers are empty. The members are pigs and leave their towels in the locker room and showers. The gym factilites are fine but be prepared--for less than ideal faclities. read more

I have previously worked out at Equinox gyms in LA and NY and the prices are similar to this Lifetime. If you are primarily interested in weight lifting, cardio and the occasional class, then this gym will be a waste of money for you. There are a lot of features of this gym that I will never use - day care, pool, tennis, basketball, etc. and these all factor into the price of membership. On the other hand, the locker rooms are clean and towel service is nice, and best of all, the membership price keeps the riff raff out. I'm on the fence with this gym because it's the only place I can work out in Boca with other professionals w/out having to worry about the usual trashy gym crowd. Has everything you could want: weights, cardio equipment, numerous types of classes (spin, Pilates, etc), squash, basketball courts, indoor and outdoor pools, spa, salon (haircuts, nails, etc), tennis, outdoor training activities, jacuzzi, upscale locker rooms, cafe with food and smoothies, etc. you name it, it's probably here. This place can be summed up in one word: Ahhh-Maayyy-Zinggg. Seriously. First off, it looks like you're going on a vacation because the place is the size of an airport. I've never seen a more state-of-the-art mall disguised as a fitness center. Okay, okay, it's not really a mall, but you could fool a few people. Some points to mention: The women's locker room was spotless and bigger than my entire house. Amenities everywhere and it was gorgeous. More like being in some really rich person's crazy big bathroom. There was a huge cafe with a full bar. Yes, a full BAR. There is a full Spa complete with everything you'd expect from a spa AND a full-service salon. See, I told you it could pass for a mall. The equipment all looked new and perfectly maintained. Lots of tv's everywhere of course, and lots of staff all over the place, they all looked friendly and helpful. Don't get me started on the RESORT STYLE POOL out back. Yeesh! When i was a member i enjoyed being there. I felt like i was in a country club. Yes some members , especially in men's room, throw their towels everywhere. They think the staff is their house servants. Pick up your own Sh$t and throw in the bins. That's what they are there for. Life Time Athletic club is without a doubt one of the top notch facilities in the area. The have a fully operating spa ie: sauna, steam room, hot tub, indoor/outdoor pool, salon and massage. There is something for everyone to do. Group fitness, squash & basketball courts, cardio equipment, weights, Pilates reformer room and cycling. On top of the great facility there is the life cafe serving up healthy meals and shakes. The staff is beyond friendly and the facility itself sparkles. There are two; one on either side of the room. Staff doesn't wipe down the bikes between classes and there's a whole lotta sweatin' goin on! I've seen the same of the yoga mats.I think management should coordinate the class schedules and equipment cleaning. If you are coming from other Lifetime fitness centers, you will likely be disappointed. It does not have the scale or amenities of the other Lifetime Centers. The pools/spa are small and the equipment is cramped together. It has an older feel. It's nice, but not compared to other Lifetime's I have been to. On a recent visit to Boca my son and I trained at this club. Nice underground parking area usually wall to wall with fancy schmancy luxury cars. Club is clean with 3 levels and ample equipment. Change rooms clean and uncrowded. Staff friendly and lots of wealthy well maintained clientelle with no shortage of botox implants collagen fat lips and facelifts. I feel really sorry for people who actually like this Lifetime center. Let me break it down for you. I originally signed up in Burr Ridge, Illinois. Even at 5 pm this gym was never packed. It's an onyx club for only 109 a month and the gym hours are 4am-1 am. Yes it's open 21 hours a day everyday. The gym had about 20'power racks. Transferring to boca I expected the best because it's a Diamond Club. Boy was I wrong. 7 pm closing on weekends!? 10 pm on weekdays?! Less equipment?! More crowded!? More expensive?! Yes all of the above. Once again showing me how pathetic Boca Raton is. God I miss the north. South Florida is the trash bag of America.
