Love this location! I feel like it's not over crowded and I like that I can always get into the classes I want to.

The irony is not lost on me that nearly another decade later, I'm back (again) and writing a review (again). The facilities continue to impress. I love the steam room, but the fitness rooms have really been leveled up significantly. I love that they've opened up some of the training and strength options as a class that any member can book. This is a great lifetime! Most equipment is up to date, lots of cardio equipment and I've never had to wait for someone to be done, locker room is massive and kept clean! The parking lot is pretty big, it gets super busy around 5/530, but there has always been some where to park. Amenities are pretty nice, and over all this is one of the nicer lifetimes I've been to. read more

Disappointed. My 1 hour of help at the start was a sales pitch more than a help. Too many classes are "not in the medicare" membership. They do have lots of equipment but don't look for help learning to use the machines. The help was near non existent. My Dr. recommended the Y at Ridgedale. Should have listened. Will be rethinking my membership. read more

Played with some friends this morning to play pickleball. They converted an old basketball court in 3 pickleball courts. Play is every hour on the hour. If it's your turn to play you walk right up to court to get in people play up until the last second. Super fun! read more

Joined Life Time about a month ago. I absolutely love it there. Everyone that works there is friendly and helpful. I primarily take the water aerobics classes which are amazing. I have physical challenges but do the best i can and everyone has fun. I have used the machines a few times and had a great session with Ben. The teachers I have had, (Jane, Jen and Cheri), are the best. They are helpful, fun and definitely know what they are doing. They work just as hard or harder then the folks in the water. The other individuals in the class are really friendly as well. Katie in the locker room makes everyone feel welcome, works very hard and always helpful. The place makes me feel special with all of the additions in place, simple things like Q-tips and mouthwash! Love it! read more

This location is right by my son's school so I come her pretty regularly. I've been a member of lifetime for since my kids were little (they are 11 and 14) and I've use the childcare centers of at least six clubs--this one is definitely the coolest! Is the largest and has more fun activities. Definitely check out the other parking lot when it's busy one, in front, one in back. The outdoor swimming pool is nice, small but nice. Minor gripe, as I come here with children, sometimes they have "no children allowed" times at this pool. I haven't seen that in the other lifetime fitness outdoor pools. And the family locker room doesn't have a bathroom which is quite inconvenient. Other than that, it is pretty standard with weights, cardio, yoga, alpha, Pilates, cafe, tennis. The classes I've taken have been decent. I haven't used a trainer this location, but they act friendly enough. About the only difference from the platinum club is the lack of shampoo and conditioner in the locker room. That would be nice! read more

LifeSpa Salon Pricing First, we are members and with that a membership fee. (which have just gone up by the way). My daughter books a cut and highlights at the spa. She arrives at 415 for her appointment and is not done until 7:00 (Eee gads, what took so long?) Today I see the charge on my credit card and wondering if I need to go refinance my house. The total charge is $275. I thought there must be a mistake, so I called. No mistake. It's $205 for a cut and color by a master stylist. I travel for business and when in Columbus, OH I go to a VERY upscale salon that provides wine while you get your hair cut and a cut and foil would not come close to this pricing and you didn't have to pay a membership fee on top of it. My daughter added gratuity and bought a product. So the $205 jumped up with tax, product, gratuity and service fees. The hair looks nice, but $275 is way too much and I think the pricing is .... well I will leave it at that. Needless to say, we won't be back. read more

I used to LOVE LOVE LOVE this club. Connie in child care was wonderful. We miss her! Carrie, the manager was outstanding. We miss him. The new manager seemed nice, but we didn't stick around long enough to find out. Once my child turned 12 he was outside the age requirements of the camp, the kids night out and the care facility. That was 75% of the reason we stayed. We used to utilize every element of this club; the salon, the café, the store, the classes, the workout facilities, the extra events, and everything to do with the kids stuff. We lived at this Lifetime for years. Like all Lifetimes, there's a disease of bratty, self absorbed people that work there. It's mostly in the salon in this club. The hair stylists are catty and miserable to deal with. I was charged too much for a membership for a 12 year old (it was adjusted by the Highland Park Club). The drive was getting too much, too. Avoid the salon and corporate and things will be fine. You'll like this club, it has the nicest people working there. read more

You only need the gold membership to come to this particular lifetime location but since i have platinum i have access to all platinum and below. Plus this place is close to my work so its super convenient for me! This location is also known as "crosstown" Use the back parking lot during rush hour. There's a back door to enter through and a receptionist that is avail to check you in. This location has tons of indoor tennis courts, 2 full size bball courts and 2 swimming pools. one inside and the other is outside. the outside one is only open during the summer season. if you have kids, this location also has a Child care center. Staff is always very friendly and machines are always function able. I've never had a problem waiting for a machine. read more

(This review is just for the Child Center at Lifetime Fitness Crosstown on Baker Rd). I cannot personally compare this location to others (this is the only one we go to) but the word in the ladies' locker room is that Crosstown has the best Child Center of all the Twin Cities locations. First and foremost, this Child Center is huge! There is plenty of room to run around, and the play areas include: a large climbing complex, two junior basketball courts, a soccer court, a large walled-off play/crawl area for the babies, and another walled-off area for computers and table games. There are plenty of toys to play with, from large tabletop games to board games to trains and constructor kits. On some days, the staff bust out a couple dozen bikes for a mini rodeo. There are also group classes here, such as basketball and kids yoga. The computer area is equipped with about a dozen nice large macs with age-appropriate games. Overall, all the areas and toys are set up to encourage partner play, which is awesome. I pay an additional $20/month for my 5-year old, which gives us 2 hours of the Child Center per day, plus twice a month there is a "Parents Night Out" from 5pm to 9pm on Saturdays, for an additional $15. To me, this is an amazing value, and worth a gym membership in and of itself! If the staff reads this, here are a couple gripes that prevented me from giving a five-star review: - The website is incredibly painful to use (it is clearly made to advertise membership upgrades, branded protein drinks and "partner offers", not help us gym members). It is impossible to purchase kids' classes or the PNO (parents night out) through the site, or even just quickly look up the schedules. I understand that the staff may not have any influence over the main website but perhaps they could create a google group for us parents, where we could e.g. quickly look up the next parents night out and reserve? That would be much appreciated. - The cafeteria touts healthy meals but the quality of their products is very, very low. It would be nice to be able to pay a little more to substitute gas-station quality pizza and sandwiches for higher-quality/organic products. Again, this may be outside the Child Center's sphere of influence - but at the same time, doesn't seem like it would be too difficult to offer better food as an option, given there is already a cafeteria in the building. read more

Life Time - Child Center at Lifetime Fitness Crosstown - Gyms Near Me - Eden Prairie, Minnesota

Yoga program at the Lifetime Crosstown/Eden Prairie facility is poorly managed. They have a new inexperienced yoga manager that doesn't really understand that customer experience is at the core of any successful business. Yoga instructors here are generally good but one in particular is excellent, Josefina, with 14 years of experience teaching at Lifetime. Her Saturday morning class was always packed with anywhere from beginners to experienced practitioners. Unfortunately, the new yoga manager decided to take over many of the classes for herself, including the very popular Saturday morning class. No consideration for the impact to the long term members that over the years have formed a nice yoga community at this facility. Now yoga class attendance for the same classes is significantly down. Many members have provided feedback in the form of phone calls, emails, and even a formal petition signed by 93 members with no resulting action whatsoever. Meanwhile, the Lifetime Flagship facility in Eden Prairie has now increased the number of classes taught by Josefina because they listen to their customers and recognize what an excellent instructor she is. So if you can afford it, go to the Lifetime flagship facility instead, much better managed. They even had Josefina teach a few yoga classes over the holidays (Christmas eve & New Years day) that were open to everyone, including non-members. What a great gift! I went here primarily for their outdoor pool during the summer months when I worked in Edina. It's such a pretty wooded area and you can lay on one of the beach chairs to relax, or enjoy the pool! Plenty of noodles laying around outside in case you just want to be lazy and not actually swim. I also took a candlelight yoga class here one time - it was some kind of promotional event for Athleta; that was pretty fun, too. I haven't used the rest of the gym too much so I can't speak to that. But if you are a Lifetime member and want to enjoy the outdoor pool during the short Minnesota summers, this is the place to be. Platinum level gym - 1 step up from Gold, but not as fancy as Onyx. The difference between Platinum and Onyx is you don't get shampoo and conditioner in the shower, but you do get shaving cream (which you do not have at Gold level gyms). read more

Membership with every haircut... My Stylist moved to this salon over a year ago from Spalon Montage in Edina, it's not 50th & France but WOW, what a surprise!! This place is beautiful, luxury totally unexpected, especially being located in a Fitness center. This whole club was remodeled along with the salon and it is impressive. Laura is my stylist and she is awesome, she is also a trainer for LifeSpa employees along with several other transplants from Spalon Montage and the service shows. Upside- Im not a member of Life Time but whenever I see Laura I get to use the gym for free, the same as any member, are you kidding!!! I have a 4 and 5 year old and they get free child care in the most amazing child center I have ever seen, rows of Mac computers, indoor soccer field and even an infant area. My kids LOVE when I need a haircut! :^) Laura is my girl and she ain't cheap but well worth it, I've been seeing her for years but all services have varying prices and some are super affordable, massage for like $50 and haircuts starting at $15. Downside- Its further than I was used to traveling, its in Eden Prairie off 494 and 62 and It's no 50th & France! Actually there is nothing else even near this fitness center, good thing there is a cafe inside (awesome smoothies- Peanut butter, banana with a dash of chocolate, yeah!) Parking can be challenging at times as well. Biggest take away- Value!!! Great quality, great environment and all kinds of extra's, all for the price of a Haircut I need to get and could get anywhere. read more

Can you guys do something about the dude that keeps working out in the free weight area in bare feet? No one wants to see this dudes feet. Also the ladies that don't use lockers and instead carry around their gym bags and winter boots and set them down in the free weight area, huge tripping hazard. Other than that, this place is run really well. GM seems to be on top of things, interacting with patrons, making sure the place looks clean 24/7. The showers can be kind of gross at times but for the most part the staff does a nice job of keeping everything clean. read more

The front desk and management of this gym act like they dont care about their members very much. Recently i called and asked how much it would cost for a family member visiting me for the week would cost for a guest pass for that week. They said it would be free as long as they have an id. The second time we came in they refused to let my guest in without paying $25 even though they told us it would be free. I asked them if they would make an exception but the young man and a manager refused. I had to take my guest back home and drive all the way back to complete my workout. Unbelievable as much as we pay each month that they would not honor their word as stated to us earlier. They seem to want to charge you for every thing possilble...all the time! Look around before joining this gym. We are going to begin looking elsewhere. read more

The yoga is very "white bread" and unchallenging. The instructors I have had ( and I have tried several and they seem to be all women), talk in a voice like they are trying to put a two year old down for a nap...slow and soothing...kinda like listening to the golf channel. Im referring to Crosstown...Ill let ya know if it is any better at EP or STLP. A level 2 is not a level 2, it is more like a level 1 or 1 plus, and the room is cold, and you repeat the same few poses over and over. No challenging transitions, no bringing the poses to a deeper or next level. No pose variations... I could get more out of my home yoga practice and not put my self to sleep. I gave them the benefit of the doubt last year cause they were trying to build their yoga program, but no change! I keep looking at the clock... It is probably good for someone who is new to yoga or doesn't have a strong advanced practice. It also seems very "corporate". they keep the lights really low, candle light is the term I believe they used, and that is because they don't want anyone to feel intimidated or uncomfortable. Huh?? if that is the case, then the weight room should be dim, too. I guess if you want "yoga", you go to a yoga studio. ps..Brian at Uptown I have to say is a great instructor and has a challenging and fun and entertaining class. Thumbs up for him! I love this lifetime. I go to this location 4-5 times a week, I participate in TEAM training, and have used the LifeSpa. Every staff member I have worked with is outstanding. I would highly recommend coming here for personal training. The trainers are great. I am currently in doing TEAM Bootcamp with Bear, but have also done classes with Rachel & Anthony. They are all awesome at keeping you motivated, and getting you the results you want. The facility is always clean, and if it is busy park in the back parking lot. read more
