Dropped in while traveling and absolutely love this gym. Lots of free weights, a variety of…read moremachines, squat racks, a sled and other equipment I didn't get the chance to use! Didn't have to wait for anything I needed (although I did come a bit later in the evening and wrapped up close to closing time). I love how clean this place is, and that they provide towels to wipe things down rather than wipes or paper towels. If I lived in Canmore, I would be a member at this gym. Will definitely be back if I'm in the area again!

Adele F. from Houston review is spot on. I travel a lot and get tired of the joke gyms in resorts…read moreand hotels, always too small and lame equipment. This local size neighborhood (plenty of space, not crowded together) gym was next to the resort (joke gym) I was staying at with my pro level fitness competitor fiancé. I was tasked with the job of finding a gym to meet her needs. After talking to Chad (owner) we walked over and met with him. He is very proud of his facility and for good reason. CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN, well maintained, great equipment for cardio and resistance training and very large open space/area(rubber floor) for stretching and plyometrics. We did a 1 week deal at a reasonable price with 24 hour access. Cardio equipment is situated facing large windows with views of Three Sisters Peaks. All machines were functioning 100% and clean. Resistance training area- Rogue Free weights and benches, dumbbells up to 150LBS. Lots of Hammer Strength selectorized machines. Basically anything a serious gym rat would want. All in like new condition. For the woman everything and more you need for glutes and legs! YES 2 squat racks and one Smith! Leg presses, hacks ........ Only missing members required to use/bring a sweat towel. Wish I had a gym like this in my home town.

There are a slew of great props and a changing room. The class was made for everyone, with lots of clear instrution. There are classes many times of day and lots of instructors...easy to fine your fit. Students are encouraged to listen to and respect their bodies. I will return many times during my two weeks in town.

Lovely yoga studio in Canmore, located on the main street of the town (which also happens to be…read morecalled Main Street, ha!). It's a flight of stairs from street level, but the view from the studio is simply breathtaking. Different types of yoga are taught, and teachers all have their expertise. Even though one can get used to the sight of the snow-capped Rockies after a few weeks in the region, nobody can really stay cold to the mountain panorama that can be seen through a ceiling-high window. Make sure to come to a class that starts before sunset so you can fully enjoy the view! The studio is small and cozy, which makes the practice much more calming, and the hardwood floor adds a homely touch to the whole studio. If you're more of an outdoors person, teachers often offer outdoors classes directly on the mountains, especially in the summer. As for any yoga studio, drop-in class fees are $18, and there is no student discount. There is a monthly trial package if you're new to the studio, but since you won't be disappointed, the best deal is obviously the yearly subscription. Mat rentals are cheap ($1).
